As an expert in the trucking industry, I’ve observed that building a reliable and scalable transportation company is no small feat. Furex Inc., headquartered in Markham, Illinois, stands out in this regard. Since its inception in 2006, Furex has cemented itself as a key player in TL (Truckload), LTL (Less-than-Truckload), logistics, cross-docking, and truck/trailer maintenance services. Furex operates across key markets, including Texas, Oklahoma, and the broader Midwest region, and has been a reliable partner for both shippers and drivers alike.
Furex’s core strength lies in its commitment to consistency and dependability—qualities that have earned it long-term trust and respect in the competitive Chicagoland market. In an industry that often faces unpredictability, Furex continues to build a solid reputation by ensuring that both its customers and drivers can rely on its services without compromise.
Furex Inc.'s expansive fleet supports a diverse range of operations, with both local and OTR (Over-the-Road) positions for drivers. These roles offer flexibility, allowing individuals to choose based on their lifestyle and career goals.
One thing that sets Furex apart is its ability to offer steady, reliable routes. Many trucking companies struggle with balancing long-term driver retention and operational efficiency. Furex has found a way to meet both goals, keeping drivers satisfied with manageable routes and time at home while meeting the demanding needs of the freight industry.
In the highly competitive trucking industry, compensation is key to driver satisfaction, and Furex excels in this area. Here you can find all positions for truck drivers at the company, with weekly pay rates:
Local drivers work Monday through Friday within a 300-mile radius and are home every night. The terminal is located in Markham, IL 60428, with a parking lot, office, and service facilities. Drivers usually know their destinations the night before, most often to Wisconsin areas. Their main task is to bring loads to the terminal and drop them at the warehouse, where the company consolidates LTL loads and prepares trailers for OTR drivers.
Note: This is not the right company for slow-paced drivers or those who need frequent rest periods. Furex specializes in load consolidation—most trailers have multiple stops (typically three). Some deliveries have strict appointment times, and missing one appointment may lead to delays for all others. This company is ideal for serious, high-performing drivers.
Furex is a small company focused on doing business efficiently with minimal expenses. Sometimes, you might experience challenges, such as difficulty reaching office or fleet staff. However, these drawbacks are often offset by good relationships, mutual respect, and on-time payments.
Furex Inc. offers 1099 contractor positions only. No benefits package is available, and drivers must have their own business (EIN and business banking account). The company can help drivers set up a business if needed, with a fee deducted from their settlement.
Drivers are also required to carry occupational and accidental insurance ($150/month). This insurance is mandatory for truck drivers, covering medical bills and lost work time in case of injury on the road.
Incentive Programs:
Furex maintains a modern fleet of 42 power units, including 2017–2023 Freightliner and Volvo models. This focus on newer, well-maintained equipment reduces downtime and ensures reliability on the road.
The company uses dry van trailers exclusively, specializing in safe and efficient freight transport. Regular equipment maintenance is a priority, with vehicles returning to the terminal every week for inspection and repair.
Furex’s hiring process is thorough and tailored to each driver’s record. The recruiting department doesn’t follow a rigid template—instead, they review violations, suspensions, and accidents on an individual basis. For example, if a driver’s accident isn’t their fault, Recruiters may fight with the insurance company to clear the driver’s record. This personalized approach ensures fairness and respect for drivers.

These services make Furex a one-stop solution for customers requiring flexibility, speed, and efficiency in freight delivery.
1. John M. – OTR Driver
"I’ve been with Furex for over a year, and I’ve never looked back. The pay is excellent—up to $2,500 a week if you’re dedicated. The team is always supportive, and the work is steady. Highly recommend!"
2. Sarah T. – Local Driver
"I’ve been a local driver with Furex for 2 years. I get home every night, and the routes are manageable. The team treats you like family, and the equipment is always in top shape."
3. Tomas – OTR Driver
"I’ve been driving for Furex Inc for a while now, and it’s been a great experience. Pay is good ($2500/week), and they always have steady loads. Dispatch is fair, and I’ve never had issues with getting paid on time. I run roundtrip loads to Texas and back to Illinois, which keeps things consistent. The trucks are governed at 75 mph, and they’re well-maintained. The 1099 setup works for me. If you want good miles, solid pay, and reliable routes, Furex is a great choice."
4. Ali – OTR Driver
"I definitely like this company. They offer both long and short runs, which is great. I can run up to 4,500 miles a week, though sometimes it’s around 3,000, depending on the market—just like anywhere else. But 80% of the time, the miles are good. A big plus for me is that when I do a round trip to Georgia, I can stop at home in Louisville, KY, for a night or sometimes even for a full day. Not a bad company at all!"
5. Pascall – OTR Driver
"I’ve been working with them for two years already. I have a new truck and get good miles. Communication could be better, but as long as I’m making more than $2,000 per week, I’m not too worried about it. The management is strong and straightforward—just don’t try to play games with them."
6. Vasia – OTR Driver
"I’ve been working with them since the company opened its doors."
7. Justin – Local Driver
"Good guys, no delays, and they respect the drivers. Flexible hours, and when needed, you can ask for help or take a day off. Plus, it’s not far from home. Love them!"
Furex offers both local and OTR positions:
Local drivers: Home daily, typically working 10–14 hours a day from Monday to Friday.
OTR drivers: Expected to stay on the road for 3 weeks, followed by 3–4 days off. However, drivers from cities such as St. Louis, Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, and Nashville may request a stopover if their route passes through those cities.
