Year after year, we have one of the lowest driver turnover rates in the industry. We believe that listening to our drivers is key to continuous growth and improvement, and always go the extra mile to make sure our drivers feel respected, heard, and are happy with their careers; yet we are highly selective in our recruiting efforts, making sure our fleet is of the highest standards.

I Love GP Transco I get my Miles my home time have access to different things to do at the yard and if there’s a problem GP Transco solve the problem or make sure it get solved and Saftey is number 1
Well run, well managed, and they are top notch all the way around. Everybody is nice and cordial. It's not hard to stay within company guidelines. Equipment is first rate. The pay needs to come up a tad only. Miles are on the 2500 to 2800 range. Could be higher to around 3000 to 3500. All and all I love this company.
If you’re here, you’re probably considering working for this company. My experience with them wasn’t great in the end, but there are some positives worth mentioning. They maintain their equipment well, with new trucks and a clean HQ terminal that has showers, a parking lot, a gym, and a basketball court. The mechanics at the shop are fantastic, and the recruiter and safety team, especially Jose, are awesome. However, when it comes to loads and how they run you, it’s mostly spot market loads. You’ll find yourself picking up anything from recycling trash to paper rolls, and occasionally, you’ll get a preloaded trailer. The pay is low, and they keep you out for at least three weeks at a time, often without enough miles each week. They claim to have guaranteed pay, but they’ll find any excuse to avoid paying it. Despite my four years of experience, a hazmat endorsement, and a clean record, I was only paid $0.57 per mile with a forward-facing camera ($0.55 without). I heard some drivers were getting paid more, but I’m not sure how that works. I’m only sharing my experience. Overall, this company might be suitable for new drivers looking to gain experience or for someone who doesn’t care much about pay, miles, or home time. You can still make a decent living, but it’s not ideal if you’re seeking consistent and fair compensation.
I was with the company for 3y 8m. I left the company for family reasons, with 2 week notice. But if I could have continued with the company, of course I would. In my experience, I must say that I quickly adapted to the environment since I agree with the culture and vision of this company. •I never had any problems with the truck, only having the PM done, and the occasional tire. •The facilities are very good, now with the new better furniture. The courtesy cars are a very good detail. •The messages and calls when weather conditions are dangerous on my route add a lot of value. And I would like to take this opportunity to thank: •My 2 dispatchers, Rocky K, and Miguel Angel. Even going out of their way to not make me wait between loads. Very professional and friendly. •Adam K, for keeping an eye on how I felt about the company and asking me for my opinions or comments on the matter. •The accounting team; I never had problems with any refund, even in difficult times. •My safety managers, Jolita, Michell, Karolina, always courteous, respectful and with a positive attitude. •The 24-hour team, always attentive and in good humor, like Salomon, Juan, Justin, James and Humberto. On my last day, I left a lot of my stuff for other drivers who might need those tools or equipment. At the end of the day, if we are a community, we do more. Thank you! Side note: The octopus was always with me until my last day in the company. Always paying attention to the road. By the way, I include some absolutely random pictures for a non specific reason.
When first starting with this company, I was quite happy. The miles were decent and consistent, however something seems to have changed. I'm not getting as many miles consistently anymore. I will have one good week, and then 2 or 3 not so good weeks. Very difficult to pay bills and make plans when your paycheck is fluctuating that much. This isn't just me, I have heard many drivers make the same complaint. I would like to end on a positive note and say the staff that I have dealt with have been a joy to deal with, and my dispatcher is top notch.
Best Trucking Company I've worked for in my 30+ years of driving. You're not just a number here, you're treated as if your family. The People here from the office personnel to the shop, are here to help you succeed. Fleet manager is always ready to keep you rolling.
Extremely upset with my driver experience here. Overall management and my fm were good. I left company 1 month ago, but when it came down to refunding my pet deposit, I got blamed for damages to truck they cannot explain, yet pin point on me. I do not feel this is fair. I explained damages and have proof of these things when I started with company. I don’t feel it is right. I emailed HR manager and never received a message back after stating damages where not done by me.
I have only been with the company as a driver since May 1st. I can honestly say that I am really enjoying working at this company! I'm getting great miles and my work schedule starts on Monday and ends on Saturday for a 34 and start again. I get a load, deliver it, and I have another one waiting for me! No night time driving and the longest I ever had to wait for a load is 3 hours! It's too bad other trucking companies do not run like this one! I can see this being my end game towards retirement!
Great equipment, free laundry and loaner vehicles at the home office. Excellent maintenance staff and they actually teach you stuff about your truck, answer questions on features and teach you how to use something if you haven’t used it before, if you ask. Good dispatchers. Great company to work for.
Grabbing my final load with GP. It has been a pleasure and a delight. My fleet Manager has been great and this company has also been great. If I ever need to be back to doing Over The Road, I'll definitely attempt to come back here. GP Transco really is the best OTR trucking company that I have worked at. I deeply appreciate all the opportunities and experiences I have gained from GP. As well as the Wonderful people that I had the honor of meeting. Keep on trucking, stay safe out there.
As a current driver for GP Transco, I have to say that they’ve been a company of their word when it come to miles, honoring home time, respect, safety and communication. I really don’t have any negative to speak on. I will say I hope they get more dedicated accounts, and also the pay per mile is not satisfactory in my opinion, but I knew what I was getting into when I signed up
I was hired yesterday so dont have the experience with the company to write a detailed review of how it is to work here, so the 5 stars are for the orientation process which was a fast two days. They make it an easy process and pay for lunch those two days. What was really amazing to me is how everyone was very nice and just the overall vibe of the environment. I'm thinking that everyone there is well paid and so they go to work with a smile on their faces that lasts throughout the day? Haha
After reading through the reviews GP Transco has not taken any responsibility for their short comings and has put all the blame on their drivers.
If you wanna be left stranded, or trapped in one region this company is for you. 90% of their dispatch is awful and have no respect for the drivers or their schedules. The trucks are nice but the torque is dialed down to 0 and they will stall out on you.. constantly. They don't care about you, and will fire you if you put in your two weeks. They don't have a 24/7 maintenance support on the weekends, so if you have a breakdown during that time.. I wish you the best. They keep you regional without the benefits of better home time. This company will make you depressed and stressed. Good luck to you all.
I have been with the company for almost 4 years, and so far, it has been an amazing journey. During these years at GP Transco, I have been fortunate to be a part of the company's great growth and development, mainly due to its focus on constant improvement, technological solutions, equipment, staff training, customer service, and most importantly, the comfort and safety of the drivers. What I really appreciate is the company's value of open communication. Rather than going through the corporate ladder to get your point across, you can speak with any department's manager or executive and share your thoughts about how procedures can be improved, which is highly encouraged. I believe that has been one of the key factors in why the company keeps developing at such a great pace.
Working at GP Transco has truly helped me expand my skillset in the industry. The work environment is very comfortable for communication and I always receive answers to my questions. They are constantly planning and hosting special events to reflect appreciation of both in-office employees and drivers. I have an awesome work/home life balance and the benefits and resources GP provides are great. Happy to be a part!
I only lasted here for about 10 days however it had nothing to do with GP for me leaving. I put in for some local jobs and couple of them just got back with me and offered me a job so unfortunately I had to take it since being home every night is more important to me right now. I could of definitely seen myself staying here for possibly a long term career had I wanted to stay OTR. The building is very beautiful and nicely laid out and definitely looks like a good place to work when being in house or a driver. I can’t rate dispatch or anything as I wasn’t really there long enough to know if they was going to be any good or bad. However I will say my dispatch seemed like they was going to push to get me the work. I do love the apps they use for everyday trucking. What attracted me to them was the nice looking trucks and the possibility to run and run hard. Now orientation is taught my some wonderful people. It’s a 2 day process you arrive the day / night before and they get you a room. You do have the room to yourself. The next day you will sleep in the truck you will be assigned which was actually nice because it gives you the opportunity to get your truck set up and familiar with it. They will also reimburse you for your travel expenses. They did provide lunch both days which was nice. I would definitely recommend this company to anybody that might be interested. When I put my notice in that I was leaving they did get me routed back to the terminal in a good time. I told them I have no problem staying out and do couple more loads that will work me back to the terminal so I didn’t have to deadhead back and waist there fuel and still got paid from a load to bring the truck back. It was a win win for both. Overall my experience was great here and if you are considering them for employment definitely give them an opportunity.
Reading the reviews and I'm impressed at all of the wonderful things that are being said about this company. I have only worked for 1 company in the 20+ years of driving that treated you like a person than a driving dollar sign. My husband and I are getting a kick out of the responses from the owner of the negative ones and love how the owner knows who most of them are. I have to put an application in now. I love working for a company that the owner takes the time to try and get to know. I hope that there will be nothing to hold me back from being hired. It's been 5 or 6yrs since I have done OTR and now that all of my kids are grown , it won't be so hard to stay out. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed. Hopefully, even though Colorado is my home that it's not going to be to much of a problem to get home on my reset time.
Great facility, staff and mechanics, they go all out to make sure your truck is good to go
I thought this would be a great company to work for but i was wrong. The drivers have little self respect here to the point they allow a company to take much advantage of them. I left because i am not easily manipulated. A great marketing company but if you are a truck driver here. You will be micro managed by dispatch and log coordinators , driving a filthy and poor conditioned truck.
Hometime isnt hometime usually just 1 day then back out. Fuel is managed. Dispatch watch your clock when they off work just to lie to you next day an leave you stranded
Nothing but broker loads. You'll spend 10-20 hours on loading docks all week. Its gonna chew up your clock and eat your paycheck. 65 mph top speed. Spend lots of time in Chicago. You won't run weekends. After hours and weekend support are Lithuanian natives. Rarely a drop and hook mostly live load unload. Office staff treated better than drivers by far and theres no transparency from dispatchers. They will lie to you in a hurry. Run away.
If you can do your full 11, maintain proper logs, and drive safely this place will treat you extremely well. Good equipment with a speedy maintenance work flow both in house and on the road. Respectful management. However, sometimes they are over sticklers for safety, but who isn't nowadays. You'll get a phone call about company policies when you don't perform a full stop at a stop sign with no one around and you've looked thrice. But it'd be a rare phone call. They are understandable, I have a feeling my above example was them finding something for the sake of finding something to pad out a company score sheet, because it's impossible to be a perfect driver. Which I really don't have a problem with. You will work with Samsara for logs, which is okay, I've had better Elogs. So you'll have to wait to login every app open if you don't keep it constantly running. Minor annoyance. Oh and you have safety scores generated by truck sensors. But nothing was ever was really held against me. They were starting a relationship with CoPilot Navigator when I left. They will lock you from navigation controls while moving if you agree to use copilot. And if you have your own account with copilot, expect some interference. When I took aff thier program was extremely basic and it might just have been computer glitches. Luckily, they allow you to use whatever you want and don't require a dedicated device, yet... My biggest issue was hometime. I love in New Mexico. A netoriously unprofitable state to get to. So it was a real hassel to get routed there and I missed a few appointments which is why I left to find something more reasonable for NM. But, they can fly you back if you don't mind living out of a suitcase all the time and leaving your stuff in the truck
Hometimes okay. Almost entirely broker loads. You can get paid but you gotta run that clock out. Dispatch is nice and friendly. They honestly need to work on getting more dedicated customer accounts
It’s a good company I made 85k my first year. The only con that I can say is that they knew more contract freight. But overall my time there was great. They gave me a brand new 2023 Freightliner
Great equipment. They will keep you moving and busy, this company really cares for their drivers . They only keep their trucks for about 3 years. Pay is good
The company is great, everyone was amazing my only problem was miles. They didn’t have a lot of drop n hook when I worked there (2021) so it was mostly live unload and that really put a damper on my miles some weeks. I’d have one really good mile week and then two really bad mile weeks. Beyond that my dispatcher was amazing the terminal is by far the nicest I’ve ever seen (full kitchen and Xbox one in drivers lounge as well as a basketball court and gym in the main building.
Good company, great trucks, great maintenance department. But slowly turning into a Maga carrier. 66mph, idle shutdown after 3 minutes, Loves only, sketchy bonus schedule, Lithuanian owned with dispatch abroad.
Nicest terminal you likely ever saw. Free lunch on Fridays, if you’re lucky enough to be at their 1 terminal in Joliet…at lunchtime. Lithuanian (previously part of the USSR) owned. 2 day orientation pays $200. In reality it’s a 4 day orientation. They put you up for 1 night at a hotel, and move you into your truck to “check it out” and “make sure there are no issues”. Meaning they want to keep more profits, and there is no PM program since they lease their trucks and get rid of them at 400,000. Dispatchers (Fleet managers - typically stay 6 months) get pushed hard and in turn push drivers. There are a few drivers that are on dedicated accounts and love it, since they get consistent miles. All the others are typically there for 6 months or less. They claim they have 30% turnover. They typically hire 20 employees per week and have 500 tractors. You do the math. They originally were only owner operators but realized they could make more money with company drivers. They still have a few OO’s. Micromanaged and drivers are pushed, hard, mostly by (cheaper labor) young, inexperienced Colombians or Lithuanians). They are always watching and phoning you a lot, regardless if you choose the inward facing camera. They can see you in the windshield reflection on the outward facing camera. They will toss you a bone and allow a 3000 mile week on occasion but consistent miles are only for those that have been there a few years and are on dedicated runs. I’m searching for something better with a good culture. Stay away.
Not a company for O/O’s… Non-Local Dispatchers (Lithuania) Low weekly mileage (mostly spot freight) Won’t payout detention or layover pay… Invasive and Micromanaging…
