I just started working here 5/10/22 I’m so please I made the move, great people and great equipment they maintain it very well , every time you come to the yard , your truck will be headed to the shop to be lube and check .. I’m spoiled here , I was so burned out by big companies that I did debate on coming here for over 2 years… Am glad I did .. First time I ever have a truck that was given a choice K W or Cascadia . I took K W nice ride smooth..

Been with Smith for over 11 years and last year when I left to try another opportunity with a friend I knew after 2 months that it was a mistake. Not that my friend did anything wrong,so after a month of thinking and a lot of praying I realized that I just missed Smith. The Smith family and staff treated me well and I liked Worthington its like a 2nd home being from Arizona. Also Mike Phil and Pat helped me and encouraged me to become an owner operator about 6 years ago. I know that Smith isn't right for everyone but if you do your job and get to your destination on time. There's pretty much nothing that they would do for you. I got my CDL in 1985 its taken me a while to find a Great place to work. I'm in truck 529 come talk with me. I'll give you my honest opinion.

I worked for Smith from 2014 to 2019... 2014 - 2017 as an OTR driver teamed with my wife and 2017 - 2019 in the office... been driving since 2004 OTR. Absolutely the best company I've drove for, no doubt. They also gave me the opportunity to learn behind the scenes work which I still do elsewhere. I'm from South Carolina and if it wasn't for that fact, I'd still be there, I'm sure. If my wife and I ever go back trucking, it will be with them. Great equipment, great family, great office staff, and great shop staff... not only that but you'll be running good loads, making good money, and look good doing it. I highly recommend working for this company. Are they perfect, no one is, but they're pretty close.

Long hours when busy. Management treats you very well. Work with your schedule as long as notice is give. Pay is great for what the job requires. . Insurance benefits are good and company Match for 401k is mediocre at best

I was told I would receive guaranteed pay and a fairly dedicated route. Next thing you know it’s all short haul and not paying minimum. A vast majority of the office is related so be careful.

Well when I started out here it was great, great pay, great loads, after a year or so it went down hill as to the people that work in the office. Couldnt get help with the things i needed to take care of in my personal live, but I can say that some of the poelpe their will help and some won't. The hardest part of the job is dealing with people in the office or in the shop that think they know how you should drive or run your clock when your the driver. Can't say there's a enjoyable moment it almost like you have to walk on eggs shells or let everyone know what going on in your personal life to keep them satisfied or keep your job.

Smith trucking is not a good place to work! The culture at this company is toxic. The management is inconsistent and incompetent. At Smith the productive employees aren’t valued and are overworked to compensate for those that don’t work. A lot of the staff lack real skill and ability. This company cuts every corner imaginable, and has extremely shady business practices.

Just need to do better with planning loads for drivers who live in certain areas of the state. The job is stressful with not knowing when you will have a load or not have a load.

Shady. Shady is the word that best describes management and employees there. They are of a certain type of personality and they don't like change or adversity. Immature goons that are grown men who work, talk, and act like 5 year olds. They're not there for your best interest as it's very easy to surpass them. Literally no education is needed to do any of their jobs and that is a double edged sword. Proceed with caution when you're there.

Smith Trucking is a great company. Great people in the office, Like REALLY GREAT people. They take VERY good care of the equipment. All trucks have APU'S and CB'S and inverters. They are pretty good about getting you home when you ask for it. My only issue isn't the company's fault. They are in MN. And I live in the southern states and wish I could have home time every weekend and they do not have ALOT of deliveries in and out of Florida. That is my only issue. These people treat me better than most of my own family. And the pay scale has been great. When I call dispatch, they know me by name. Not a number.. they answer the phone saying my name and half the time I call, they already know WHY I am calling. I can't say enough good things about this company!

Family oriented, great people to work with. Miles are there, but cpm could be much greater for experience drivers, but still not bad if you value Family oriented over money. Definitely would recommend this place to others
