I had to do both my Canadian and US individual income taxes and they definitely exceeded my expectations as I had literally 2 days before the US deadline. I initially came to AKIF due to the stellar reviews and hopes to work with them beyond tax season- but my working with them for 2022 taxes has been nothing but frustrating- mistake after mistake (misspelling my name on the taxes, dropping a digit from the direct debit account, amount owed represented with two completely different numbers, confusing paperwork that isn’t clear on method to pay IRS, etc.). That, with their lack of communication and slow responses, I’m sorry to say I would not recommend this firm. If they’re too busy during the high season to avoid simple mistakes or consistently respond to paying clients in a timely manner, then they shouldn’t be taking on new clientele.

I was looking for a firm that would do just the cryptocurrency portion of my taxes so I could enter the data myself in Turbo Tax. I looked at several firms and all would have been quite capable of handling my situation. Staking, DeFi, simple hodling, and quite a few projects that train-wrecked during my first active year in that arena (2022) raised a lot of questions on how to handle my taxes and how to enter them in my Koinly crypto tracking software. I had lost quite a bit of money and was looking for a balance between cost and being capable of doing the job well. They were not the cheapest or the most expensive. However they worked with me to keep the cost down when I explained my circumstances. They broke down the fees clearly by what each team member would do. They were very personable and responsive to my questions and gave me a measure of peace of mind and good explanations of how to handle transactions that were problematic in my eyes. Their turnaround time was prompt in getting my crypto taxes done and all my transactions in Koinly sorted out and tagged. They also genuinely care and have personal involvement in the crypto space; those are two things you need to do crypto taxes well.
