Brian Boswell has been preparing our business and personal taxes since 2011. My husband and I own an exhibit company in Charlotte. Brian is very knowledgeable and stays up to date with all of the new tax laws. He is quick to return phone calls and emails, and he takes his time to find out and answer any questions we may have. I would recommend Brian and Bernard Robertson CPA to anyone who is in need of a CPA.

Brian Boswell has been handling the annual tax preparation for several businesses I have owned over the past 14 years. In addition, he handles my personal taxes. He came highly recommended by my payroll service company, and accepting their recommendation was one of the best decisions I have made thus far. Brian has been very professional and has consistently pointed out things that saved me money, and that has been very helpful. His expertise and professionalism has been astounding and I am very happy that he continues to complete our taxes each year.

I've had the opportunity to work with Brian Boswell for close to a decade now. I first met Brian while working at a wealth management firm. Brian was the CPA for many of our high net worth and business clients and always did a terrific job. Five years ago, I started my own business, and Brian was one of the first people I called. We have been working with him on personal and business endeavors ever since. He's detail-oriented, extremely competent and very customer-focused. I can't say enough great things about Brian and his team and would highly recommend his work to anyone who needs strong professional accounting/tax services.

About 5 years ago after a recent move to Charlotte, I was in a tax bind due to another accounting firm botching some of my documents. I found Scharf and Pera through a friend and met Brian Boswell. He was calm, diligent, responsive, and thorough. Brian responded swiftly to emails, met in person when necessary, and called me on anything urgent. He has maintained this excellent service and I continue to use him. What I appreciate most is his approach ability. No question is dumb. When someone is a master of his trade, he can make the most complex concept simple and easy to understand. Brian is a master of his trade with a humble approach. You will not go wrong working with Brian. If you are on the fence about giving him a call or using this firm, I encourage you to make the call.

While searching for a new accounting firm for my wholesale diamond business here in Charlotte I came across this firm in my Google search for small to midsize businesses. They put me in touch with Brian Boswell. Big mistake. The initial back and forth via email seemed like a good fit so organized a call. Had the initial call went well rates seemed reasonable so handed over all private documents tax returns and what not. The next week he introduced the woman who would be doing our books. She went ahead and reconciled 3 items and he sent a bill for $550 and in the same email introduced the new fee structure to transfer the company from an LLC to an S-Corp. I was a little surprised at both costs so I organized a follow up call to get on the same page before meeting in person. On the second I began by initially listing the items completed by the bookkeeper (I hold an MBA in business marketing and internet marketing, not accounting or bookkeeping) and questioning the time it would take one to complete these items. Based on the fee it seemed a bit high based on my experience with our previous two firms. And this is where it all went wrong. Brian berated me by telling me he "is not going to play my games" which I questioned and he replied "negotiating fees" which I was baffled by since I was merely asking questions to understand the hourly rate for the work performed. He then took a 180 degree turn and told me we are apples to oranges to the companies he works with, quite a different tune than the first conversation. He then went on to tell me we are not a fit at all for his firm and that he will return all documents to me (we never sent any hard documents or anything that he could return) and we will move on. Brian Boswell was condescending, rude, unable to spend 3 minutes clarifying bookkeeping terminology and time allocation. He belittled a luxury diamond and jewelry company that does seven figures of business as if we were selling peanuts on the corner. I am not at all shocked that after the call when researching his name he had his own firm which was shut down. Seems fitting. This firm may have CPA's and staff who represent a much higher standard of customer service and respect for potential clients, but I assure you Brian Boswell is not one of them.

I recently attended a seminar hosted by BRC. The speakers were great and the program was very informative. I have also worked with a few of their tax professionals (e.g., Brian Boswell) and have found them to be very knowledgeable and proactive.
