I just graduated today, it was a great experience . I love the instructors, they were amazing . I’m going to miss Mr. Glen, Damien and Ms. Pre-trip lady. Scott and I didn’t hit it off at first but we worked together and he helped me get my alley dock down. They really want you to succeed this is a excellent team. Thanks DDA

I really do hate giving this business only 2 stars being that I'm not aware of 100% how they operate . I contacted them a few times before they finally did respond back. I just asked a simple question which was would they work around my work schedule from off shore . The lady never told me no but asked if it was possible if I could take 30 days off from work. It is absolutely impossible for me to take 30 days off from work unless I had proof of some near death medical excuse. I have been with the same company off shore for 20 and I'm now trying to focus on a new career path . I am very dedicated to work and have had a steady paycheck since I was 15 years old, so I don't know how to just ask for a month off . I would take a chance of leaving this job if I was guaranteed a income within a reasonable time upon graduation. If I leave here then it would be no doubt I would complete this academy . I'm just sitting back still waiting on the answer if they are willing or able to work around an off shore schedule for me to attend this academy or if it's just impossible for off shore workers to pursue a trucking career, still no answer yet which has me questioning how grounded and competent this academy is if they cannot answer simple questions or respond to people in timely manners.

I wish they provided more information over the phone. Like is the course 4wks 6 months etc. I called 160 on greenwood rd an they provided me with what I need. 160 trucking school seem like a better option. If I can't get DDA to really explain to me over the phone, it might be like that in person?too. Think I will pass

Currently enrolled into a program here at the academy, first and foremost the staff here is top notch, very professional and willing to go above and beyond to help you here at the Shreveport La location. If I could give more than 5 stars I definitely would. I highly recommend anyone who is looking to start a career in the trucking industry to come here. Very positive and respectful atmosphere. The instructors are very knowledgeable, respectful, and friendly. It feels great coming in everyday learning what they are able to teach me in a short period of time and leaving with confidence. I could keep going haha but really for anyone looking to obtain their cdl come here. You won't regret it I promise. Thanks DDA

Graduated from DDA Shreveport in 1987 and went straight to driving for CCC Express. Fast forward 34 years and still driving, I owe these people much respect for preparing me for the job. I was told they couldn't make a truck driver out of me but they would bring it out. Thanks!!! Read every sign and slow down on exits is still engraved in my head, along with pre-plan your trip will get you far.

This place is a joke. Its nothing but a money pit. Very thrown together and unorganized. The instructors are not professional. Classes are overcrowded. My company paid for my schooling, otherwise I would still be complaining. If I had paid $10,000 I don’t want a book thrown at me and told to read and watch videos all day. They don’t want you to take any endorsements. They want you to do the bare minimum just to get your CDL and get out of their way so they can make money on the next victim.

Copied and pasted from the investigation letter I'm sending to the US Dept of Ed: I go to Diesel Driving Academy in Little Rock, AR. Their corporate headquarters is at 3523 Greenwood Rd, Shreveport, LA 71109. It's an independent school that's not run under any trucking company which is why I chose to attend. I started school in LR in September 2015. About a month after I started the school was taken over by a trucking company called Stevens Transport. At that time my classmates and I were told that their students take precedence over us. Today for example DDA has 25 students and use 2 trucks Steven's has 12 students and use 3 trucks. So that's 5 trucks out of 10-12. The rest are broken down. I have spoken with Michael in the HR dept. at the corporate school and nothing's being done about my education. The first time I called corporate to complain about my education to Michael he called Jason who's the director of our LR DDA and Jason harassed me about calling and complaining. Because of this harassment I would like to remain anonymous related to correspondence to DDA until February 15, 2016. By then I should be graduated so it wouldn't further affect my education. I cannot understand how they are eligible to offer federal aid to their students because it's a scam to get student's aid money while not providing the education their supposed to. I would like an investigation into the amount of money I borrowed to be able to attend this school. Because they already have it I can't quit even though I'm getting nowhere. I'm wasting my time so I feel they have wasted my money. For the first month all we did was study for the written exam to get the CDL permit. We took a lot of tests that were similar to what was on our permit written test. However, that was the easy part. Now the hard part is getting trained to actually drive a CMV. For the last two weeks we've done nothing in the morning for 2 hours but sit around, then maybe get to drive once a day for 20-30 min if we're lucky twice a day. I don't think that I will be properly trained to pass the driving part of my exam in January which is what I paid to go to school here for. I could have gotten a cdl book, studied on my own and passed the permit test without DDA. I came to DDA because there's no other way to get trained to actually drive a CMV. That's what I need from DDA which they're not providing.

This is a great school I took the 4 week class and was so nervous and felt as if I couldn’t process everything in that small amount of time but little did I know I was ready after my 1st week In class with Mr.Rogers then when we got out on the yard man the instructors was phenomenal and they are motivated to see you succeed overall it was a great experience not easy but very satisfying when you complete the course I highly recommend this place if you want great training in a awesome atmosphere

This school is horrible. The instructors are not competent enough to be training and fail the students when they haven't taught them the information. To make it worse the administration does not care, all they want is the money. This school should closed and I wouldn't recommend anyone go here.

The instructors really are the ones that need to be recognized. They truly do take the time to teach and answer your questions if you show them that you want to learn.

"Because of Diesel Driving Academy's commercials running constantly on the .. 4-6 channels depending on weather and which way we turned the antennae with channel locks, this commercial was a 'driving' influence on my development. Constantly drawn to truckers and their big rigs, the rumble of neighboring trucks at rest stop lulled me to sleep frequently. I finally found my soul mate and we're in it fer the long haul. He drives a truck. He has a job my friend!" Thank YOU DDA!
