I'd definitely recommend to anyone if your looking for a good quality training school to attend. I can honestly say I enjoyed all of my time that I spent here and the people I met in the process wish I could've stayed longer honestly ?. To the in office staff, Nancy and Jamie I appreciate for helping me with every question or concern I had. All of the instructors were great to work with and learn from whether they were assigned to me or not, in class with Todd, to Ron the Don with the 602's, to yard instructors Moe the Goat ?, Utivia, Tim, Chris the Vet, Slick Rick on the Road, can't forget about Josh with Health Wealth/Job Placement & Mr. President Tyler with the effortless 90's ??

I took the CDL A program here a few months ago and thoroughly enjoyed my experience and time here. The instructors from pre trip all the way to maneuvers and driving are all great! Some instructors may be tough on you but that’s just because they want you to understand what you’re driving and what can happen if you make a mistake. The school and faculty at the end of the day wants you to succeed and won’t stop until you do. I struggled quite a bit on the driving portion and they offered extra help on top of the 160 hours just so I could pass that finish line. Thanks for everything you do to keep the roads safe and make sure we have the tools we need to succeed! PS job placement is also great currently work at Dani’s transport, have my own truck so far so good.

Each and every instructor were top notch. Even a couple instructors who weren’t assigned to me (Tim & Chris) would come over to my truck & help me with maneuvers when I’d get stuck. Rick was awesome for the road skill instruction. Adrian helped me nail offsets. Tyler, Moe & Clarence were so helpful, patient & persistent in teaching me 90 alley docking. Jim was a great help in the media learning center. Highly recommend to anyone interested in becoming a professional truck driver!

Can't say enough good things about this school. They will definitely do whatever they have to to prepare you for your tests and help you to get your CDL. From week one in the classroom with Todd, who does a great job preparing you for you permit test ( and who is a huge lions fan, just ask him) to all the guys on the yard. I had Moe my 1st week on the yard and he's the best..awesome at breaking down and teaching you how to maneuver the truck and get your pre-trip down...#Moe-squitos?. Even though I didn't have his class shout out to Adrian for his help on the yard too, he's awesome. Tim is great at helping you get down your 90 degree alley docks, enjoyed my time under his instruction. Shout out to Tyler and Josh too for helping with finding a job after the fact. If you're willing to put in the work everyone here will help you every step of the way. Highly Recommend.

God Bless USTDTS✨??! I’m so happy I chose USTDTS. My experience here was smooth and prompt. I completed the 4week 160 program and I graduated/ passed my CDLA exam today. Shout out to all the instructors who gave me great tips on how to be successful. Thanks to Todd for the great tips in how to study for pre trip, Tim for the encouragement and patience while teaching me how to do the Ally Dock/ 90, Brandon teaching me how to safely and confidently shift and drive on the road and last but certainly not least Moe Money lol. Moe is a huge reason I passed my exam today. He is an AMAZING instructor. The way he is able to verbally explain the breakdown of the Maneuvers is a gift. He explains them in away where it is so easy to comprehend. His multitasking skill are top tier. He has the ability to see where you are struggling individually very early on and make sure that he continues to help you through and fix your mistakes. And top of that he’s cool as hell. Thank you USTDTS.. Now on to securing the Bag ??

USTDTS, I think is a good school to get your CDL from. I was there from 9/18/23 - 10/13/23 and kept coming back until I passed my exam at the beginning of November. I did the 160 program. It started off with Todd who told us everything we needed to know to get our permit and tips on other things we should consider like endorsements and how to add them. Week one in the yard was straight backing and offsets. I got instruction from Mo and I can't say enough good things about him. Week two in the yard was learning alleydocking/90s. The school president Tyler actually was our instructor for most of the week and his teaching was excellent. The end of the week Mo actually took over and again was great at teaching. I struggled some with my 90s and listened a lot to finally really understand what I was missing and why. Week three in the yard I was on the road everyday with Tim. I thought Tim was really good, especially at being encouraging, since no inexperienced student should expect to be perfect day one. After my week on the road, I kept coming back to practice maneuvers and Clarence appeared on the yard. Clarence truly helped and was really good at offering alternate ways of doing the same things that had already been taught. I messed up on my maneuvers during my State exam and had to retake the test once. When this happened I came back everyday until I tested again. I got in a lot more practice again with Clarence and then again (special shout out to) Mo, and my second exam went fine. I followed up with Tyler after I passed and Josh. I really appreciated that Tyler was available late on a Friday (I tested down on Livernois at 1:30) when I got back to the school at almost 4 o'clock. I met again with Josh the following Tuesday and really recommend talking to him if you don't know where you want to work, and are open to options. I started a job a week later. My only complaint would be, I wish there had been more instructors and maybe another truck or two. While I kept coming back, other instructors started, which leads me to think the school addresses issues as best it can and quickly. The mechanics were all over any breakdown and got stuff back right, quick. I also want to say that overall I had a good experience including help from the personnel in the office (mostly Jamie), Jim in the media center, Chris for taking me out on the road when he had an open spot (Yooooooohhh!). Jim and Adrian had a lot of advice about trucking companies that I listened to. Stay for a lunch and learn or two.
