Visited this place a few months ago with multiple EGR & catalytic codes, they were able to figure out that it was a power cable loose connection to the egr. Parts were ordered and the following day they replaced it with a new one and I was in and out. truck running smooth no issues, Ethan and your team your awesome! highly recommend!

We only say one star because zero stars doesn't register on Google reviews. We just wanted to share with the public the terrible experience we had with shop manager Ethan and his so-called mechanics at Vanguard Truck Center in Alvin, TX a couple months ago. Our family is very quick to commend when deserved but when someone has the responsibility to protect and instead endangers others, that is unforgivable. My husband tries to comply with federal regulations to stay safe as an owner operator and keep everyone around him safe too. Took our 2011 Volvo tractor truck to "these professionals" who charge $185 an hour but can't even fix a bicycle! He asked for it to be done in a week and they kept it one month. First of all, the time the truck was still drivable and my husband noticed that the center carrier bearing was worn out, so Ethan the shop manager walked out and looked at it himself and agreed that it needed to be changed. My husband told him verbally to please inspect the whole drive shaft WHICH THEY DID NOT because next to the center carrier bearing was a universal joint that was already bad which is right next to it. This is not rocket science. Changing the center carrier bearing means nothing if you don't diagnose and change what caused it to go out. The result? 3,000 miles later my precious husband was stranded in Indiana an extra 2 days away from home and $4,000 spent In towing and repairs from true professionals at only $125 an hour. It's a crying shame you have to hire the $125 an hour man to fix the $185 an hour man's mistake! Second, while the truck was there Ethan informed us that the oil sensor light came on. We said change it. His response, "I don't have anyone to go get it". We did get a new oil sensor only because we drove 30 more miles past his shop to get it. I have to admit my hubby and I are an awesome team ?. While I was making phone calls for the part he was driving because Ethan said "you have only an hour to get it to me and we can have it done before closing" and we did. Or they would have to keep it another day. We went to eat cuz we were starving and he called and said the only way to get the sensor changed was to drop the starter even after consulting with both his mechanics. Remember the bicycle with 2 wheels? We just said give us the part. My hubby took it with him to Roadmasters shop in Searcy Arkansas, and a younger mechanic probably with less experience took longer to do the paperwork than to install the sensor! (Without removing the starter). Third was the air dryer had a small leak of air. Told them to check it out and Ethan said we will just put in a kit which is a filter and parts inside the air dryer. They just changed the filter but charged us for the entire kit. They must think we are stupid. Since then we have talked to friends that feel the same way about their experiences with Ethan and his crew. My husband tried to give him the face to face opportunity to explain because we don't want to use their services anymore and Ethan just said "I am sorry you feel that way Mr. Flores, there is nothing I can do, good luck." Our highways safety should not rely on luck, it should rely on expertise. We never bargain on pay. My hubby changes parts religiously. Please don't make the same mistake we made ? ? - Hara and Pablo Flores

My company does a lot of business with all the parts vendors/dealers in the Houston area. Vanguard in Alvin, by far, is the easiest and most helpful to work with. Josh and Francisco in the parts department really know what they’re doing and it is very evident in every interaction I have had with them. Thank you guys for your awesome work!!

They charged me $350 for a diagnostic test on a a/c unit on a truck and said the problem was the evaporator. They also wanted to replace the dryer as well so I approved that replacement. After they worked on the truck the a/c was worse than it was before they worked on it. An I was like you ran a diagnostic test that you charged me $350 for an the a/c is worse. Then at that point they say it is the expansion valve. So I authorize that repair and after they replaced that the a/c still didn't work. Then they wanted to replace the compressor etc.. That's when I cut my losses and took it to a shop that knows what they are doing! I would not recommend this shop to anyone! Obviously they don't have a clue and just replace parts.

Buy parts and leave. I left with more problems than when I dropped it off there. They play the mechanic card and you're the customer card. They think they know more than the average person. I'm a mechanic but i did not have the computer for the work I needed. When I picked up my truck, the abs and traction control light was on. It wasn't on when I brought it in. So to make sure I wasn't lieing, they looked up the computer report and proved to themselves and me that I was right. But I still had to argue with them. Finally asked them to go look and see if they left something unplugged. They looked but said they didn't find anything. They reset the lights and said they could take a look at it fir another $diagnostic fee. But I knew better. They did leave something off. Come to fund out after weeks of searching, I broke down on the side of the road because they left all my battery cables loose!! Watch out. Young guys with a computer...

The problem I brought the truck in for was resolved. They made sure my fluid levels were good as well. Part of the inside overhead wasn’t put back in flush, the replaced it properly before I left. The inside of my truck was clean and tidy when I arrived. When I went to leave the floors, seat, and everything the mechanic touched was filthy. Jose was kind enough to go clean the mess before I left.

The piece is new, then I tried it, the problem is not in the piece, but the one I bought and did not use it at the same time, but the one who works with the pieces knows that I am on the repairman trying the piece to know if the problem is from it or not, and there was mistreatment from your company and please reconsider the deal and I will tell everyone who worked to leave Not coming to you and I left the piece in the store because I don't need it and I don't care about the amount I paid, even though the price is about $500 dollars

Trucking is a business. But Greg Brooks at Vanguard, made my day even though my truck was down and he didn't have my part. (I gave the wrong part #) He waited for me after hrs.. and located the correct part ( which was a huge effort). I was having a hard day but after meeting Greg things didn't seem as bad. If I ever have a problem in Houston again I will go out of my way to stop in and see Greg and so should you

They are so much better to deal with than Vanguard in Houston. They take the time to look up the right part, then get it to you in a timely manor. The only thing that needs improvement is answering the phone.
