Dan Doherty in the service department in San Leandro is a straight criminal. We have been going here for almost 2 decades. Within the last few years we started working with Dan and BEWARE of this guy. If you bring in your equipment for an estimate he will decide to charge you for everything that he possibly can. When you tell him you refuse to pay since you never asked for any of the services he will hand you a credit form to apply for credit to take care of the bill. Luckily there was someone in the service department by the name of Mr. Schmit that was higher up than Dan and he forgave the outrageous bill that Dan tried to force us into paying stating "This is no way to treat a customer. We didn't build Coast Counties by treating folks this way" were his exact words. If you want to deal with a straight criminal in truck repair Dan Doherty is your guy!

First of all i called to them and explained my truck problem. I asked that do you fix those problems over the phone discussion. They said that they can fix it and asked me to bring my truck to them. Second of all, they wanted to inspect it and it took whole day to inspect it . Finally they got same problem that i already told them. lastly you know what they DID NOT FIX problem and all they did was overcharged for only inspection. It was waste of time and money !!!!!

Brought My Truck In (Pete 388) DEF System Was Acting Up. My Mechanic Couldn’t Figure It Out. I Was Skeptical To Bring It At First Reading Some Of The Reviews. Upon Arriving Thursday I Was Greeted By Ivan At The Service Front Counter. He Was Very Knowledgeable And Broke Down The Steps They Needed To Take To Repair My Truck. Even Though They Were 5-7 Days Backed Up From Getting To My Truck They Started Working On It Immediately. They Communicated With Me Daily On Where They Were At With The Repair. They Were Able To Diagnose It Right Away And Fix It. I Was In And Out In 4 Days. They Even Helped Me Out On The Bill Because I Told Them I’m A One Man Company And Not A Fleet. Would Definitely Recommend This Shop ??

I took my truck in on a Thursday with DEF light on. Worked on it on Friday. They said a wiring overlay 2 of the 4 wires were crossed. Which I had that fixed at another dealer& I watched them do the overlay 1 wire at a time. It was not backwards. Wait till 1 hr before closing on Friday to say they’d have to finish on Monday to put DEFdoser nozzle on. Monday morning they were suppose to email a estimate. After 3 hrs I leave motel and go over there. Took 2 more hrs to actually get estimate. Almost $5000. I started questioning estimate. Their response was if we put this on we by rule put this on too and on & on. After a heated discussion I say no put nozzle in and let me go & they did. Then pulled my truck around by front door and didn’t even tell me it was ready. Piss poor doings. Paid them $2500 for this work the I leave and go 1 mile & must perform regin light comes on Hadn’t had this trouble until now. So I call NOR CAL Kenworth. They said they could check it The were open till 10.00 Peterbilt closed at 5 and I didn’t want them to touch my truck again so I go to Kenworth. Kenworth (remember the crosses wires) said those wires were a circuit in and circuit out. Didn’t matter if those 2 wires were crossed or not. Would work either way. Kenworth said my exhaust filter was stopped up. They fixed my truck and showed me what and why they were doing what they done To make a long story short Coast Country Peterbilt just wanted to throw parts at my truck to make their money Maybe Ryan the service writer will get a better job away from these people If I done business like They do Peterbilt would shut me down & that’s exactly what they should do to them. DO NOT TAKE TOUR TEUCK THERE TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. THEY JUST GOT ANT TO CLEAN YOU OUT AND STILL NOT FIX TRUCK I WISH I HAD FOUND THE KENWORTH first Would have saved a lot of money and headache. I also feel they should pay me back for unneeded repairs. Greg Gentry

Parts Department has Horrible service. They ordered the wrong part and charged me for Restocking fee, they got mad at me and said don't get smart with me when I told them they sold me the wrong part even though I had the part#. I had to go to Peterbilt of San Jose to get the correct part.

Very poor service. My truck was treated like it was part of the trash. Dropped truck off on 9/27/18 for clutch issues, cooliant leak and air leak. Asked for a BIT inspection so that any other issues could be addressed as well. Received phone call on 10/2/18 and was advised of necessary repairs. Was to have a estimate emailed to me so that I could review and authorize necessary repairs. After several phone calls and physically showing up at the Peterbilt on 10/15/18 I still did not have a estimate for repairs. 10/17/18 called my neighbor who is well acquainted with one of the lead mechanics at Peterbilt and explained my dilemma. He mad a phone call in with in 2 hours I finally had a estimate. At this point truck has been sitting at Peterbilt for 3 weeks. 11/9/18 went to pick truck up. At arrival found truck in same spot in front of shop when dropped off on 9/27/18. All air was depleted from truck. Suspension was down resting on frame. Grease was on hood, fuel tanks, driver side step and carpet in cab. There was a large pile of bird feces on the hood. Truck never made it inside shop. At that point I was done with this shop. Was I to go back to work on 11/11/18. On drive home found clutch pedal hanging up. It was something I could tolerate for the time being. $9800.00 in repairs and 6 weeks of not working it was time to start generating revenue. 11/10/18 next morning truck was depleted of all air. Suspension drained as well. Cooliant leaking. Emailed Peterbilt the issues still with truck and my frustration with the amount of money and time already spent. Received phone call 11/12/18 from Peterbilt about the issues. Brought truck back 11/13/18 so that these issues could be resolved. 11/15/18 was advised that I need front brake chamber replaced along with a new radiator. Received estimate and gave authorization for all repairs. 11/16/18 was notified that truck was ready to be picked up. 11/19/18 picked truck up. Radiator was NOT replaced. Air was depleted from truck. Suspension was down. 11/20/18 air tanks are empty but suspension is holding for now. Grease line for throw out bearing is hanging down not attached. 9 weeks and my truck still is not fixed. Peterbilt of San Leandro is a horrible place for service. I feel like I was treated like a third class citizen. Repairs are still needed.

I just bought a truck because of California carb program truck has 60.000 miles and front bushings are making noise drop it down for inspection took 5 hrs to figure and i have to pay for the inspection and just told bushing are bad because I didn't grease it properly when the truck only have 5 oils change at every 10 k not at 15k what the dealer says i just told is my problem So what's the point spending 180k for a brand new truck when in 7 months will give you problem and warranty won't cover or is the service department will don't want to deal with warranty issues Talking to peterbilt Corp to fix the issue

Took my new truck to them after taking it to 2 other peterbilt dealers explain my problem to them that I had with the prior peterbilt dealership about getting my brand new truck greasy on the interior door trim and scratching it on the step box. They not only fix the problem I was having, but they went above and beond the call a duty and made sure to cover up everything making sure that they wouldn't get it greasy.. And when they were done with the repair they brought over their own detail guy to polish out the scratches that the prior dealership made in step box

I was at this location to do some work for the company I work for and was in contact with Tim a salesman I do believe. He gave us some great advice and told us about a couple neat things Oakland and the surrounding towns had to offer.
