The team here are great, Amber/Jesse and (sorry didn’t catch the other persons name with baseball cap) gave me all the pointers i needed for using the truck and tips for NOT driving on parkway else you get ticketed. The truck was easy to use, rented both 26 and 16ft.

Easy to pick up, they had everything i reserved for. In my experience the trucks are clean and new, and run well. This was the first time I drove from NJ to NYC and there were a few words of warning that I didn't get when I picked up, like staying off of parkways. Also since I dropped off at a different location than pick up, I didn't know how to drop off the truck after hours, so I parked in the street. I got a ticket for that, so be careful. I also nearly lost my key! The customer service was really helpful and nice about it, even when I called to cancel the help truck an hour later. Close call though, mind your keys or you'll pay about $200.

This is my go to for truck rentals. Professional staff, fair pricing, courtesy and professionalism all the way--it exactly what every customer needs. They are the most cost effective and honest. Uhaul, as large as it is, can never compete for long trips.

Truck was ready early, people were super nice. Truck in excellent condition, as they made sure i was matched with the best one as i was on a 3k miles trip. Highly recommended.

While moving in brooklyn we had a uhaul reservation which was not honored, so we used Penske instead the following year, only to have Penske also fail to keep a truck available to meet our reservation. They did eventually connect us with a different location which could get us a truck, but it was much further away, and it took most of our moving day away to accommodate their mistake.

Scam Alert!!! Avoid this location. I have rented many times from Penske without any issues, but this Myrtle Ave. location is the exception. I rented a truck from them. Upon the initial inspection with the agent I noticed that the cargo section was very dirty I commented that I didn't want to be held responsible for a cleaning fee on the return, the agent said "not to worry about it". Even so, I swept it out thoroughly, before returning it. Sure enough, when I returned the truck the to the same location the next day, a different agent inspected the truck and upon looking in the back I noticed he looked a little puzzled, I said "I cleaned it out for you" he replied "yes I can see". Now how would he know that, unless he was expecting it to be dirty (so he could hit me for a cleaning charge, no doubt). He then said everything was "fine". So I went into the office to settle up, then the guy comes into the office and says the fuel tank isn't full. "WHAT!!! I just filled it up at a station about 8 blocks away!!!", "Oh no" he said "it could take another 5 gallons". "NO WAY" I said, As I looked at the gauge and it was even past the Full marker after I filled it, Then the girl at the desk chimes in and offers to "only" charge me for 3 gallons at $8 a gallon. "Absolutely Not" I said, I demanded the key back and went to the truck and took a picture of the gauge that indeed sad it was full, went back to the girl and showed her, she said it didn't matter what the gauge said it was the level in the tank, Huh? they didn't say anything about or show me the level in the tank when I rented it? I told her that when I filled it the nozzle clicked of 3 times, meaning it was as full as it could be. She then said "Oh its only an extra $24 why are you making such a big deal" "Principal" I told her. I then went back out and showed the guy the picture, he went into the cab of the truck and said yes indeed ti was full and that the gauge might not have read the correct level when he first checked it. He told the girl who then curtly closed out the bill without the additional charge. No apology was given by either of them and to make it worse, She rudely told me "Please don't come back here ever again" Of course I won't

I made a reservation two days in advance and gave my CC number to "guarantee" the reservation. When attempting to collect a truck, there was nothing in their system. I was forced to scramble to find another company to rent with.

This place is the best, really great service as well as vehicles. Highly recommended

The vendors working at this site should have name tags on for identification. The young woman that helped us was professional but curt in her responses.
