In the vast symphony of stops that punctuate the I-10, Love's Travel Stop in Port Allen, Louisiana, plays a familiar, if not entirely remarkable, note. Bestowing upon it a modest two-star rating acknowledges its role in the grand choreography of travel - reliable, accessible, yet unadorned with the flourishes that might elevate its status to something more memorable. This establishment serves as a testament to the functionality that one has come to expect from such waypoints - a place to refuel, in every sense of the word, yet lacking the distinctive qualities that might make it a highlight of one's journey. It stands, steadfast and unassuming, offering the essentials with a quiet competence. The bathrooms, described with an eloquent "meh," underscore a sentiment of adequacy without delight. They fulfill their purpose, yet in doing so, they remind us that the journey is often about more than just reaching our destination; it's about the quality of the stops we make along the way. In its essence, Love's Travel Stop in Port Allen is a microcosm of the road trip experience - sometimes it's the unremarkable stretches that underscore the value of the extraordinary moments we encounter. It's a reminder that while not every stop can be a destination unto itself, each plays a crucial role in the mosaic of our travels.
Awful. I don't usually do reviews like this, but this place needs to really get it together. The bathrooms were disgusting, sticky floors, and broken gas pump buttons. Soap dispensers either broken or empty.
When I need to stop on the road I look for Love‘s travel stops first. Why? Their advertisement, “ Best bathroom on the road,“ is, in general, not just words. I even keep a spreadsheet on my phone of the location, store number and exit number for every Love‘s travel stop along my usual routes. But, the experience I had today at the Love‘s travel stop just west of Baton Rouge was not the experience I expected. When I was “finished“ in the bathroom I reached for toilet paper, only to discover there was none. Each holder is supposed to contain two rolls. Courtesy checks hourly on the half hour and nobody looked to see that BOTH were empty? I called and the manager on duty said she would send somebody with a roll of paper. Nobody came. I called a second time and, it took a while, but somebody finally brought paper. I understand that the entire United States of America is short staffed, it’s that way at my office, too, but, if they can find time to keep the coffee pots full, they can find time to pick up the toilet paper on the floor and keep the rolls stocked.
I'm not going to judge the staff as I didn't really speak to anyone, but they did seem very friendly and aquatinted to the customers I did see them interact with and quite happy to be there. On the other hand, the diesel pumps were not maintained, dirty, Trash left everywhere. Which I will agree that people are dirty for leaving the trash, they may not have any other choice when every trash can is full to the brim. The buckets left to clean our windshield were empty. There were a few that had some water in it, it was mostly mud. The bathrooms were not clean and neither was the floors throughout the store. Loves travel stops typically pride themselves on being very neat and clean while being friendly. While the staff were seemingly friendly, the store itself was outright dirty, disgusting, and not maintained. While I do understand there may be a lack of staff to help keep the store cleaned.. but management should definitely be looked at if you can't keep employees.
If you've been waiting for dirty restrooms, rude employees and no coffee, this place is for you. Upon entering the tiny lot, you can look forward to being ignored at the register and empty coffee makers at 6 am. The only good thing I have to say about this place is that it deepened my appreciation for the Loves that actually take care of their locations and employees that have a sense of pride.
Very clean store with professional and friendly staff, with an Arby's attached to store that has good food with quick friendly service. The truck parking lot is laid out pretty good and relatively easy to get into spots. Showers are very clean with lots of hot water. This love’s doesn’t seem it has a truck tire service. I haven’t seen those Service bays or a mechanic.
This by far the most unkempt Loves we've ever been to! Every trash can was over flowing in the bathrooms and everywhere else. The women's bathrooms toilets were dirty and the bathroom stank like pee. The floors were dirty. And it looked like the maintenance crew was just hanging out outside doing nothing...people don't normally take breaks with rolling trash cans in tow.
Usually Loves has some of the cleanest bathrooms. This location was nasty! The store was in disarray & dirty looking. The employees her seemed stressed which made them seem abrupt & rude. Wait, if you can for the next gas station. It could be better than Lobdell Loves!
Worst Loves I've ever been too. Bathroom was disgusting, and soda and ice machine broken. The whole place was dirty and just gross. Will never stop here again
The bathrooms are not the best infact I used shower power everytime I needed to use the bathroom but the showers are not much better. (Pour cleaning etiquette.) No laundry so don't expect to get that done on your 34
Not a good bathroom stop unless you have been stuck in traffic and are now desperate. Floors are sticky and gross, bathrooms are unattended, automatic sinks don't work. It's been at least 5 years since I stopped here, and it has not improved. Take down the sign that says "clean places, friendly faces."
Small location with a poor parking layout. Small cramped store with ZERO food other than snacks. The entire salad and sandwich island was empty and turned off.
The customer service was great. But the shower omg the shower was really nasty water hair trash was all over the floor and wall ? need to do better with the cleaning
Glad for this location for much needed pit stop, snacks and hat. Great customer service - no fuel this time but would return in the future. Blessings for the New Year!
No paper towels No long handle squeeze
