Trucking companies that train CDL drivers - worth it or not?

Read fresh article here, about trucking companies that train CDL drivers and I wanted to share my thoughts on it. The article lists some of the pros and cons of getting your CDL through a company-sponsored program, and also gives some examples of companies that offer this option.

have to say, I’m not a big fan of company-sponsored training. I think it’s better to go to a reputable private school and get your CDL on your own terms. If you’re short on cash, need a job fast, and don’t mind working for one company for a while, then company-sponsored training might be a good option for you. But if you have some savings, want more control over your career, and value your independence, then private school might be a better choice.

What do you guys think? Have you gone through company-sponsored training or private school? What was your experience like?

Don’t think it matters much as long as you get your CDL and get on the road. The real training is out there, not in the classroom or the yard. You’ll learn more from your own mistakes and successes than from any school or company. Just do your research, weigh your options, and go for it.

The apps that helped me pass tests

Hey guys, I’m a new trucker who just got my CDL and I wanted to share some of the apps that helped me pass the written and practical tests.

Hey guys, I’m a new trucker who just got my CDL and I wanted to share some of the apps that helped me pass the written and practical tests. I found this article on this website that lists some of the best driving test apps for different types of vehicles and states. Here’s the link https://newjobs4you.com/blogs/trucking-tips/best-driving-test-apps/

The apps that I used were Brainscape, DMV Practice Test Genie, and DMV Written Test. They all have flashcards, practice questions, and feedback features that helped me learn the rules of the road, traffic signs, and regulations quickly and efficiently. They also have state-specific content that covers all the details you need to know for your local DMV test. I think they are great tools for anyone who wants to ace their driving test and become a safe and confident driver. What do you guys think? Have you used any of these apps or do you have any other recommendations?

It can vary depending on the company and its policies. Some companies may require you to drive with a trainer for a certain number of miles or hours before you can go solo. Others may have a probationary period where you are evaluated on your performance and safety. The average length of time for this type of training is around 3 months, but it can be shorter or longer depending on your progress and experience level.

CR England and CRST companies are not only engaged in cargo transportation but have also provided training services for truck drivers for a long time. Both have popularity and reputation, but which one to choose?

As for CR England, the history of this company goes back to 1920. Now they own five driving schools and help them with further employment in their company. CRST, in turn, is a freight company in Iowa, which also owns auto schools for large transport, but since 1955.

Both companies will pay for your training if you are guaranteed to work for them for one year later (that is, fulfill debt obligations, which may vary). Most drivers suggest choosing CRST, however, provided there are no serious criminal records. If you have a history of crimes or violations, then CRST will reject you more likely. But they have another plus besides the quality of training - a higher fee (0.42 cpm instead of 0.14 cpm offered by CR England).

Naturally, the choice is yours. You can personally ask drivers who have been trained in one of these companies. We have only provided the data obtained during our own mini-study. Both companies have a good reputation and a lot of positive reviews.

You’ll burn a bridge with the school and the company they work with. Good luck finding another job with that on your record. You’re better off sticking with them for a while and getting some experience.

You’ll probably have to pay back the cost of the training, plus interest. They don’t give you a free CDL for nothing. Read the fine print before you sign anything.

If you leave the school right after you get your CDL, you will probably have to pay back the full cost of the training, which can be thousands of dollars. Most schools have a contract that requires you to work for them for a certain period of time or miles after you get your CDL, otherwise you will be liable for the tuition.

+ Paid training as in a company is paying for your training? They normally will have you sign an agreement that you will repay them back a certain amount sometimes even more than the schooling alone is, that usually includes a one year commitment of you working for them.

It's possible they take you to court. The school i attended had to do this a few times over breach of contract.

Job offer .60 cpm cdl trucking school

Is this a good offer? It’s OTR and it’ll be my first trucking job. Would like a little more insight from some truckers before accepting.
