CDL Training

I can't afford CDL school

I've been trying to obtain my class A license for over a year now. I have my permit I have completed the ELDT courses and now I'm stuck. I have a family and a full time job and I'm the only one working. I'm having trouble finding grants or financial aid and my permit will expire in about 4 months.

Are there ways to have cdl school paid for?

Sounds like you’re in a bit of a pickle, but don’t let that slow you down.

Look into company-sponsored programs.

Have you tried reaching out to local trucking companies? Some of ‘em might sponsor your CDL training if you agree to drive for them for a while after getting your license.

Yellow has courses that pay you while you learn. And then you have a job when you pass.

Roehl Transport pay students $616.00 weekly while attending cdl school. A neighbor of mine went through the program and said the $616.00 a week is the real deal.

See if your current job offers tuition assistance to help pay for it. That's how I got mine, had worked at Amazon for 5 years and they started promoting the CDL course at a local community college and paying 90% of it. This was before they had their own semis and delivery trucks so figure they were just testing stuff out

You have a job. If it’s really that important to you, buckle down, work overtime or a second job, scrape together the money and take the test. You have the hard part done.

Where to learn how to drive a truck?

Hello everyone, I've had experience only with small trucks like Chevrolet, Dodge, GMC etc. I really want to try massive one, but after I read some blogs and forums I've inderstood that it is not as simple as I imagine. Can someone suggest some good trucking schools? I'm pleased to hear any advices and tips. Thanks in advance.

Make sure you pick a school that offers plenty of behind-the-wheel time. It’s all about that hands-on experience. Roll on!

Hi, for a safe drive of any vehicle need to get training. There are so many schools they provide driving training. If you want to go trucking school, you have to know first about the trucking industry and then know about the vehicle. In the USA, driving school provides driving training and also the courses. And also that for a new driver has to pass the DMV test and get the license.

You may also check with local vocational schools or community colleges in your area to see if they offer a CDL driver training program. You may also check with some of the carriers who train drivers. You can check the company listing on this website for more

It’s worth every dime if it means you don’t end up jackknifing on your first downhill run in the rain

Think of it as an investment, like good boots or a solid hat. It’ll pay dividends when you’re behind the wheel of a big rig.

My question would be: Is it difficult to pass the exam to become a driver?

Of course, better yet, I can tell that one of the best things about a trucking career, is that you can enroll in a CDL school at most any time, and start getting a paycheck (although it can be low during training), within a short time.

You can get Decent Pay. It’s a matter of researching trucking companies that do the kind of trucking you are looking for and run the lanes you want.

I'm not sure, because my sis wants to start as a Truck Driver! We start looking for a school, and they want crazy money from people, I don't understand who is ready to pay for it.??? And maybe any other ways to get a CDL without a school? And is this school needed? Any trucker after school goes to training and works till the first year with a trainer. What is the sense of going to a school if you work for a minimum of 6 months with a trainer????
