Help!! RPM problems

Hey y’all, it seems like the RPMs are going up and down for no reason, and sometimes it feels like the engine is choking or sputtering. I read this article here about some possible causes of RPM fluctuations, and I wonder if any of you have experienced the same thing or have any advice.

Try spraying some carb cleaner around the intake manifold and hoses and see if the RPMs change. If they do, you found your leak.

Should I switch to Freightliner??

I’m thinking about switching to a new company that has only Freightliner Cascadia trucks in their fleet. I’ve heard some good things about this truck, and also read article about them here https://newjobs4you.com/blogs/experience/freightliner-cascadia-reviews/, but I want to hear from you guys who have actually driven it. Is it as cool as it sounds?

How to stay alerted

https://newjobs4you.com/blogs/trucking-documentation/drug-test-for-truck-drivers/

Just read this article on drug testing for truck drivers and I have some questions. How do you cope with the stress of driving a truck without using any substances? I know some drivers use caffeine, nicotine, or even prescription drugs to stay alert with the long hours. But are there any natural or healthy ways to do that?

Driving Calmly and Handling Aggressive Drivers

I need some advice on how to deal with road rage. I’ve been driving trucks for a long time, but lately I feel like I’m losing my cool more often. I get so pissed off when some idiot cuts me off, tailgates me, or honks at me for no reason. Sometimes I want to chase them down and give them a piece of my mind, or worse. I know it’s not worth it, but I can’t help it.

I get so pissed off when some idiot cuts me off, tailgates me, or honks at me for no reason. Sometimes I want to chase them down and give them a piece of my mind, or worse. I know it’s not worth it, but I can’t help it.

I read this article about road rage and how to avoid it. It says that road rage is different from aggressive driving, and that it’s a crime. It also gives some tips on how to drive safely and calmly, and how to deal with aggressive drivers. It sounds good in theory, but I don’t know if it works in practice.

Have any of you tried these tips? Do they work for you? How do you cope with road rage? Do you think I have a problem? I don’t want to lose my job or my life over this.

Please share your thoughts and experiences.

How big is a semi gas tank and how do I calculate my fuel costs?

Hi everyone, I’m a new truck driver and I’m trying to figure out how big is a semi gas tank and how to calculate my fuel costs. I found this article that explains the different types and sizes of gas tanks and how they affect the fuel efficiency and range of a semi truck. It also gives some tips on how to save fuel and money.

I’m still a bit confused about how to apply this information to my own truck and route. How do I know what type and size of gas tank I have? How do I estimate how much fuel I need for a trip? How do I compare the fuel prices at different locations? How do I track my fuel expenses and receipts?

I would appreciate any help or advice from more experienced drivers. Thank you in advance!

Hi there, welcome to the trucking world. I read the article and it seems pretty accurate and informative. To answer some of your questions, you can find out what type and size of gas tank you have by checking your truck’s manual or looking at the labels on the tank. You can estimate how much fuel you need for a trip by dividing the distance by your truck’s average miles per gallon (mpg). You can compare the fuel prices at different locations by using apps like GasBuddy or Trucker Path. You can track your fuel expenses and receipts by using apps like Expensify or Fuelbook. Hope this helps.

Need help understanding new HOS rules

Hi everyone, I’m a new driver and I’m having trouble understanding the new hours of service (HOS) rules that are supposed to go into effect soon.I read this article on New Jobs 4 You, but I still have some questions. Can anyone help me out with some examples or scenarios of how these rules would apply in real life? Here’s the link to the article: https://newjobs4you.com/blogs/electronic-log-book/understanding-hours-of-service-(hos)/

Some of the things I don’t get are:

  • How the split sleeper berth works? Can I split my 10-hour break into any combination of 7 and 3 hours, or does it have to be in a certain order?
  • How the pause of the 14-hour clock works?
  • How the extension of the short-haul exemptions works?

how I understand it. It doesn’t matter which period you take first, the 7-hour or the 2-hour one, as long as they add up to at least 10 hours and neither period counts against your 14-hour driving window. However, you can only split them once in a day

+ For the split sleeper berth, you can split your 10-hour break into two periods of at least 7 hours and at least 2 hours, in any order. For the pause of the 14-hour clock, you can extend your driving window by up to 2 hours if you encounter adverse driving conditions. For the short-haul exemptions, you can drive up to 150 air-miles and work up to 14 hours without taking a 30-minute break or using an ELD.
