Healthy eating’s the way to go. Swap out those fries for carrot sticks, and you’re golden.

That’s easy. I do arm curls every time I lift a burger. Does that count?

Exactly, It’s quite enough to exercise 15-20 minutes per day, just try and you’ll see the difference!

Hi! In our mind, healthy food and working with Flatbed or StepDeck is the best way!

Yes! Food is very important. You can also find truck-stop gyms, the perfect solution. But even if there’s none, you can run a few laps in the park nearby.

The most important thing is healthy food! Forget about Snickers, soda and candy. Keep healthy snacks only and try to eat three meals without skipping.

Getting active on the road I think is a good way to keep fit. Lifting boxes, carrying boxes, securing cargo, many other things you can do. That’s my way.

She needs to master the art of sippin’ coffee for hours on end. It’s the trucker’s elixir for those long nights on the asphalt.

Tell her to get cozy with the idea of ‘truck stop cuisine’. She’ll develop a love-hate relationship with those greasy spoons on the interstate

First off, she’s gotta know her way around a rig better than her own kitchen

Why not? You can learn everything if you want. If she's okay in dealing with imbalanced schedules then fine but it can result in less flexibility to care for family and personal life.

But when people ask her what she does, she'll get to say, I drive a truck! which is pretty awesome.

No, I think she’ll start with small transportation around the cities, at least for a start.

She needs to finish trucking school, after this, find a real driver, and work as a team driver for at least 3 or 4 months! It will be great for at least one year. Buy your truck and trailer, and keep rolling!

Yes, that’s really cool, but driving alone at night if you are a woman … brrr… don't think it's a good idea really. Women in trucking are for sure more susceptible to inappropriate behavior from men.

Don't you forget that truck driving deals with carrying heavy loads? Will she be capable of lifting heavy cargo?

You can do everything you want, including driving a truck. The truck driver occupation has ranked among the top ten most dangerous jobs in the US for decades. Does your sister want to get into this dangerous field?

What's the difference between OTR, local and regional trucking?

I'll get my CDL in one month; which position do I need to choose? Can someone help me, please?

In my opinion regional trucking refers to the part of the country usually within a 1,000 mile radius. Local trucking is within a 200 mile radius and consist of an 8-10 hour work day. OTR trucking involves long distances, across state lines and even national borders. What do you think guys?

Rollin’ OTR ain’t for the faint of heart, it’s the long haul life for me. You get to see the country, but you’re away from home a lot.

Hello! Of course, I will try to help you! And I will talk about Company Driver positions. - OTR position is better for drivers ready to stay Over the Road for around two weeks! This driver works for a CPM ( Cents per mile) and can bring home about $2500 per week (if he's hardworking! About home time, it will be 2 or 3 days home in 2 or 3 weeks. - Regional position. Companies pay by CPM or Daily rate. It depends on the trucking company. Home time will be possible - once (a day or two) a week. - Local position. Companies pay by hourly rate or Daily rate. Every day home. You can bring home around $1500 per week, depending on how many hours you are ready to work!

Typically, regional is broken up into divisions like Northeast and Midwest.

You know, there is another important factor that local allows the driver to be home every night, which can be a real benefit to those with a family.

For me too, and as for the differences regional trucking days usually coincide with weekends which is a main appeal for this type of route over OTR.
