Or are you/they using mobil apps to communicate? If so, which one(s)?

Old school CB for me, nothing beats that instant chatter when you’re in a jam

CB’s always on in my rig, but I’ve got a few apps like Zello for backup

I run back country roads, local, other trucks still call out cops on the CB. Saved my ass more than a few times. Also how we communicate with the loader operators ( I haul gypsum, sand, rock, ash )

If my truck is moving I have my radio on. It’s usually squelched up pretty high though.

I find they aren't used as much in the west, but much more in the south. I have mine on all the time. It's literally the only way to communicate with another driver aside from a horn.

Smart phones are for talking with people you know. CB radios have a range of 3-20 miles depending on terrain. Useful for road information ahead of you from drivers who were just there, alerts if someone see a problem with your equipment etc…
