If your ELD is not working, you have to make a note of the malfunction and inform your motor carrier within 24 hours.

You're supposed to have paper logs as backup in the event that this exact scenario happens. Keep driving and make a note on the paper log that eld stopped working in case you get pulled over and the officer asks why you are using paper logs.

Stop, restart the tablet, if it doesn’t work contact safety and get them to send you pdfs of your last 8 logs and run on paper.
