Been hearing chatter about rates taking a dive. Seems like the market’s tighter than a lug nut right now

Rates are dropping because of aliens. They’re abducting trucks and stealing freight. They’re also manipulating the market and driving down the rates. It’s a conspiracy out there. You better wear a tin foil hat and watch the skies 👽👾🛸

The economy is slowing down and people are buying less stuff. Imports are also slowing down and there’s less freight to haul.

The pandemic caused a huge surge in consumer spending and e-commerce, which boosted freight volumes and rates.

Rates are dropping because demand is slowing down and capacity is increasing.

The truckload market goes through inflationary and deflationary phases every few years, depending on supply and demand conditions. We’re currently in a deflationary phase, which means rates are falling from their record highs last year.
