Weight Limits

Weight Limits

Can someone explain to me why they have these limits and how they are determined?

I mean, I get that they don’t want us to damage the roads or cause accidents, but some of these rules seem too complicated and unfair. Like, why do we have to follow the federal bridge formula and the state axle limits? Seems like they just want to make our lives harder. Anyone else feel the same way?

Gotta stay on top of it, though, or risk some hefty fines

The federal bridge formula is supposed to prevent overloading the bridges, but it’s so complicated that you need a calculator to figure it out.

As long as we are under the gross weight limit, we should be good to go.
