I’m thinking about joining Schneider, I’m worried that I won’t pass the drug tests because I’m on Adderall. I have a legitimate prescription.

I wanted to joined Werner but, they told me I would have to stop taking adderall. I didn’t have a problem getting into Knight or Roehl with my prescription.

If you have a legitimate prescription you're ok. You'll pop positive for amphetamine, but you'll get a call from the MRO (Medical Review Officer) and they'll ask if there's any reason you tested positive for it.

As far as I know it’s like this with all prescriptions, if you can pass the med card portion- and you have the prescription, it just gets reviewed.

You should be fine. If your DOT Physical shows the dr thinks you’re ok driving with your Adderall I would think the company would concur. My DOT Physical shows my script to Suboxone and hasn’t affected my job at all

Its a mix of classroom and computer instruction, yard practice, and actual street driving around town, usually industrial park areas.After the three weeks, provided you pass the final road test, you go out on a truck for a week with a 'training engineer' where you guys will run actual loads. You learn a lot about how to deal with shippers, trip planning, etc there.

Didn't go to Schneider so can't touch on that. But I can give advice, I remember being a new driver going through a mega for my CDL and experience, ask questions if you think of something ask even if it seems like a stupid question ask it anyways chances are someone else is thinking of it anyways but won't ask the question aloud to an instructor or trainer.

I went through them like 1.5 years ago. It’s nothing to be nervous about, it’s like 7-4 each day, no weekends. If you have the option or money to get your own room, I would if it’s available, just because weekends you don’t really want to be cooped up w someone else.

Not to be rude, but I net 4x what you did in the same time frame. You're doing it wrong. I gross your net in 2 days, and sleep in my own bed every night. There's much better opportunities out there. They're bending you over and not giving you a kiss

I grossed about $3500 working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday last week. I also don't work for WE, I work for the world's largest...thing that takes things to people's homes and stuff.

Crete - What's the catch?

So I've been lurking for a couple of weeks, and want to go OTR (wife is of the 'ex' variety, kid lives w/her 300 miles away, no girlfriend, etc). And nearly unanimously, Crete is suggested. So what's the catch? Why are they paying more, and why are they in need of drivers? It doesn't look like they have a school, is that it? They don't have the big shiny ads in the magazines? Am I missing something?

You'll have to call about the cat. If they take you with10 mos experience, you'll make a lot of money. If the 12 mos experience isn't negotiable, the go with one of the other companies for 4 mos. so you'll have 12 of experience.
