It’s got some good tips on what snacks to keep in your cab, like apples, oranges, etc.

I think this is important stuff, because we all know how hard it is to stay fit and healthy when we’re driving long hours and living out of our trucks. I’ve been trying to follow some of these suggestions, but I’m not gonna lie, it’s tough. Sometimes I just crave a burger and fries 🤪.

So I’m wondering if any of you have some more advice on how to eat healthy. What do you do to beat temptation?

Since I have learned that my cholesterol is high, I am trying to be more careful about my food. I don't buy ready-made food in cafes or parking lots (only when I'm super busy). Shop at supermarkets, read the ingredients carefully to avoid sugar.

Cook your meals at home. Vacuum seal them and then freeze them. Warm up your healthy meal and enjoy. You won't have to worry about cooking while on the road.

I always try to find at least 30 minutes to cook myself a meal. It is very important to add a lot of protein to your diet. Lately I am obsessed with salmon+ fresh salad add some chickpeas, avocado that's so yummy. Be careful with avocado cause of calories.

Try to avoid excessive sugar consumption, for example, I want to sleep terribly after sweets or high-calorie food. I always keep low-carb tortillas, canned tuna, vegetables, yogurt in stock. This is a great option for breakfast and lunch. If you don't like tuna, you can replace it with chicken or even meat.

I prefer a bagel with hummus and a boiled egg for breakfast, it's very filling. If I want something sweet, I use yogurt with berries and nuts, you can add granola for example.

If you think that cereal bars are a good and healthy option for a snack, you are so wrong. Almost all of them contain a lot of chemicals and flavor enhancers, sugar. It is better to eat a little nuts or dates.

I recommend stocking up on a lot of canned goods, especially tuna, sardines, mussels and salmon. You can always make a quick and quite healthy lunch out of this. You can make a sandwich or just add it to a salad.

You can find healthy food at the truck stops. I often see small cups with fruits and berries there, but they are quite expensive. If you are saving money like me, then just shop at Walmart once a week

I never liked cottage cheese before. But if you add a banana, nuts and a little honey or jam, it's incredibly delicious. Now I always buy several packages at once. You can freeze it if you need. By the way, the salty version is also excellent: cottage cheese + whole grain bread + cucumber + salmon.

I love snacking on frozen berries and mango, carrots and humus, apples etc… they’re low in calories and definitely help with curving the hunger. And you don’t need to waste time on cooking.

You can eat tasty and cheap in a truck. The most important thing is to have a fridge to store food. You can always store food in containers or vacuum and use it when you need. When I feel a little hungry, I take a small plate and fill it up with snacks like cucumber, carrot sticks etc. Really low cal stuff.

I’ve realized snacks are actually where most of my money is spent. Due to health problems, I carefully checking all products. I stick to a diet of 3 times a day, and two small snacks during the day. Be sure to drink a lot of water and max 2 cups of coffee a day.

It's best to try to keep the healthy snacks, and get rid of anything that is highly processed, such as cereal, soda, pre-made salad dressings, dips, chips, crackers, etc. -- things like that.

I dont like processed stuff like protein bars or grain bars. Instead of these i highly recommend toasted chickpeas with cajun seasoning. Edamame and kale chips are also good type of snack.

.I keep cold cooked potatoes and sweet potatoes in the fridge, always. You can always add some protein like fish, chicken, or beef. Dont use any ready sauces or dips with it, they consist lots of chemicals and sugar

.I tend to not have time to cook throughout the week, so on free day I will spend an hour meal prepping for the week. I store the food in the freezer and heat them up when I'm hungry.

To avoid the temptation to eat a burger and fries, always have plenty of ready-made but healthy food. When I am out of everything, the first thing I think about is buying a burger.
