This is the first company that I’ve worked for where I felt that they genuinely care about their employees. I got that feeling on day one.
Great place to work, great people here, helpful , if there is a problem they help you any way they can at solving it,
Warning, Warning, Warning: If you like sitting 20 to 34 hrs a week and having to babysit AMX trailers when other drivers ignore dot violation issues AMX does not appreciate US Veterens either. Was called in for Random Drug Test. Owners Son took me to testing center and said he would wait. Came out of Center 30 minutes later and he was gone. Had to wait 2.5hrs after a dozen calls to anyone that would listen fo a ride back. He laughed when he said he went for lunch. Yeah, they really care about they're drivers, Not! You'll do yourself a favor by staying far away from this place. They do not value drivers what's so ever!
Your driver are trash I just watch truck 2007 dumped his trash on the ground and then dump his pics bottle out and then leave rest aera on i65 south bound mm57 in ky.i do have picture of bag of trash.sorry trk 2007
This is the first company that I’ve worked for where I felt that they genuinely care about their employees. I got that feeling on day one. The work atmosphere is welcoming and approachable. Everyone that I’ve met so far had at least a few years with the company. So, that in itself was a good sign. I love that this Is a family owned and operated business. I am a huge advocate for that. I enjoy waking up and going to work every day. I aspire to grow each and every day with this company and build my skillset. I am truly grateful to be apart of this team.
Decent Company To Work For , Pay is Depending on you , if you want to sit around don’t expect a decent pay check . I been here since 2021 and all companies have there own flaws Amx is home for me nothing bad to really say . If you like to run you’ll make money , they don’t hassle you , more freedom. Equipment is decent , like any other companies they can’t really control how well drivers treat the trucks , they do they best to keep you running , maintenance shop is ok at times , breakdowns over the road they will get someone out to you quick as possible. Benefits are decent . If you build a good relationship with your dispatcher and do as they ask you won’t have problems, any situation you have talk to your dispatcher with a good sense of humor they will take care of you . Nothing really bad to say about this company. Home time is there , you find what best for you , frieght is there . * Last note * if you don’t like to run , or reject loads this is not the company for you
I just started with AMX 3 weeks ago and I love it here. Everyone treats tou just like family (the good side of the family) LOL... Everything they say they do. I have been to several companies and NOT 1 have ever lived up to their word but AMX has so far. Update.... My entire facts have changed about this company. Not enough pay for OTR Dry Van drivers. As many miles as we drive we should get paid per mile and it should be the same pay as their Reefer Div. or a little more because we drive more miles per load. The ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY
As a driver I had a great experience here. While it didn't work for me personally I can say everything they said they delivered and everyone treated me like family! I would recommend this company to other drivers!
Great company everyone is quiet and minds there business. Extremely Professional. You will have tight shippers be aware and always slide your tandem to the front 25-45 miles from shippers off highway. Jenny is amazing and all the staff at AMX. One thing you have to realize in life everything isn’t made for everyone. You will love it or you will hate. Stay professional and realize they are just doing their jobs. God bless you all and the New American Dream. No reason to argue if it’s not you easy have a way home. It’s not there responsibility we’re grown. There small don’t ask for hotels or buses home. Work your way home as an adult should. All you should need is to empty your truck. Welcome to the industry.
Definitely not a good place for experienced drivers, the trucks always have problems and need repairs they don't wanna pay you while you are waiting at a hotel to get your truck fixed and it's atleast 34 hrs your sitting every few days too much northeast and can't get a hold of your dispatch they never pick up the phone unless they need something best decision was leaving here no money to be made might be good for new drivers but not anybody with 10 plus years
This is a amazing company, I have so much love and respect for this company. Dan is one of the most nicest safety guys I have every met . Matthew is one of the best dispatch’s I have ran under. If your looking for a good family and friendly company this is it. If I ever decide one day to work as company driver again this is the company for me hands down . Anyone looking for a great company this it. To the owners y’all have pick a great staff team. And never get rid of Dan(safety) or Matthew (dispatch) To everyone keep making this company great.
My dad and Husband drives for them. Excellent
My husband has been at this company for 8 years (that alone speaks volumes) . This is a great company to work for . Most of the truckers that leave end up coming back and many have retired from this awesome family .
Drivers are unappreciated. They really don’t want you to have home time. Black people especially don’t need to drive for this company. You’ll never be respected as a person. You’ll be told you’re replaceable and don’t matter. I hope this company’s management gets better with communication, and treating employees better.
Great company, they do prioritize getting driver's home
It's family, but you aren't invited. ::: Predatory driver agreement. Miles shorted every run (like swift) Shop is rude (like Swift) Truck has bedbugs (only AMX) Qualcomm 2008 always has a reason to flag your FMCSA that's forever... You will sit and be a number to make dirty people kinda wealthy while you go broke. They love it when you fail so they feel good about themselves.
Waste of time; the recruiter sounded all excited. Then suddenly gives me a call “we can’t verify your 1” yes just 1 employer. So we can’t move forward. I was lost because no other companies had this issue. When I offered proof of employment i.e. settlements statements, W-2, my tax return. He just listlessly says ok I’ll see if that will work. NEVER EVEN HAD THE COMMON COURTESY TO CALL BACK & SAY NO THAT DID OR DIDNT WORK. Yet was selling me on this is a family atmosphere, & your more then a number. Yeah no thanks if your recruiter treated me this way; i can only imagine how your company treats hired drivers NEXTTTTTTTTTT
Great company like working here.
One of the best companies I've ever worked at! Nice friendly staff and nice equipment. They keep you busy and always have a load.
Great place to work. Small knit family oriented group. They fired me because I took the truck home without permission and was late to the load the next morning. Completely my fault. Gets you home whenever you need. Started off at .70/mile for the refrigerated division.
The best transportation or transfer company I ever worked with. Very respectful and kind to their drivers. I definitely would go back. I honestly wish they had a terminal in my home state of South Carolina. A company I could retire with fire sure
People are great! They’ll work with you the best they possibly can. Equipment could be upgraded a bit, taken more care of/cleaned better! Runs are simple, not really not hard backing.
I have been off and on with AMX since 2011, I have worked there 5 times and every time I called they put me right to work, AMX is a great place to work as far as the people, my dispatcher is to this day the best I've ever had but keep in mind we had alot of time to get to know and understand each other, the safety manager is among the best people I've ever known..... AMX is a good place to work but the pay is not the best, they do a sliding pay scale and it can really hurt you when the loads are short...... If you take your 150$ advance on Monday and you run 3000 miles you will bring home around 600 bucks and trust me when I tell you that is the max you will make and you will only make the max twice a month... AMX will help you anyway they can and will support you with anything you go through on the road, only bad thing I can say about AMX is the pay scale... Other than that AMX is a great place to work
Pretty good work place easy to get along with dispatcher and other workers dont mind you taking off for doctors appointment's work with your needs just dont pay enough money on the miled
drove tractor trailer over the road going to pick up and deliver of products to customers.customer service and communication, ran paper logs and sent in weekly
Great company to work with. New equipment and overall home time versus where loads were taken was great. Having the terminal so close to home really helped.
Overall good company to reside with if you raised your family already but not so great if you have a family to up keep. A desirable Pay increase would’ve been seemly
Ok, you're not gonna get rich money wise, but the welcoming atmosphere created by such a great group of people along with truly being able to go home quite often on your designated routes. The open door family feel, makes AMX a wonderful company to work for. No pressure, well managed and staffed allowing the driver to earn a living for himself while meeting and working alongside a great group of people; drivers included.
After 19 years of driving experience, and driving for several companies, I can assure you that AMX is a good company for experienced drivers who no longer want to follow the competitive movement of transportation. The salary, although not the highest, is quite acceptable. The trucks are almost all of the year or no more than 3 years of use, in good condition, the company has its own workshop, OTR, dedicated, regional lines and even containers. Family Company, where you are not one more. You have all the types of benefits and even an extra health insurance that the company puts, and it does not cost the driver a penny. A check every week, and a building (terminal) where you find showers, bathrooms, TV room, free internet, coffee, cocacola and many other things. in two days I complete a year working for them and I really like it.
family friendly, relaxed, the bosses treat you kind. new trucks, great loads. nice pay. very supportive, easy going, great miles elogs, home time with no problem,
Starting CPM was $0.38. After 2 months it went up to $0.40 CPM. If you are not available to work 5 days out of a work week, your pay goes down to $0.30 CPM for that short work week. :-( =/
It’s a good starting company if you’re new to trucking or need to get some experience to get back on your feet. They are very nice friendly people to work for.
Great place to work if you are willing to do the work. Great dispatchers in the ref division. Good equipment and they are willing to work around how you like to run and how hard you want to run.
What is the best part of working at the company? They don't bother you. You have your assignments. They let you do it. If something needs fixing....done. otr....regional decent to new trucks. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Local....dedicated local....what's left from wreckage. Pay isn't the greatest but the semiautonomy they give the drivers make up for it. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? They really get to know you here. Very friendly...every body! Very friendly! What is a typical day like for you at the company? I get my assignments pick up ...my loads...I deliver my loads.....I take my breaks.
What is the best part of working at the company? Good people, nice trucks, pay could be a little higher, friendly people What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Waiting on Dispatch What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Family pet friendly What is a typical day like for you at the company? Sitting an waiting on dispatch
Truck Driver is paid to drive period. Contracts with companies to pull their freight does not encompass with drivers being used as trailer yard jockeys to move emptied trailers.
They are just like most companies say that they care about you when they don’t. There is nothing else to say. I suggest that you keep on looking for something else
They have different pay structures and divisions depending on what you like. Dispatchers are good, money is okay. If miles were better it would be 5-star.
If you are a cdl driver you will understand this review. Please do not take this as the norm for other positions within the company I cannot speak on what I do not know. AMX is a good company all in all. Their fleet is always taken care of, the benefits are great BCBS (employee paid), and the company pays for an additional policy that reduces your deductible to 1k, they will keep you moving (for all of the real drivers out there that like to keep that driver door shut), staff (for the most part) are very friendly, they reimburse for parking, driver appreciation lunches (this is mostly for office staff-the drivers are all over the road). Now to the bad part, the pay- you can choose cpm (it is very low for industry standards), or drive time only (as a cdl driver this does not work when you can spend hours at shipper/receivers with no way to recoup your loss). Every moment of a driver's clock is important to them; it is all of the time that we have to make money. AMX needs to look at changing their pay structure back to hourly and/or increase their cpm. Overall, I have enjoyed my time at AMX and have made some lifelong friendships with some of the people that I have met here. Pros-Benefits (their health insurance is well above par for any I have seen), the office staff are very friendly, equipment is taken care of (you will not need to worry about being stuck in some old broken-down truck and trailers), they reimburse for parking. Cons-Pay structure for drivers (drive time only /cpm), work/life balance (This is trucking and as an OTR driver there is not much of this no matter where you go in an OTR position)
