That's some serious staying power
I guess they must be doin' somethin' right. I just wish they'd focus more on gettin' the goods from point A to point B on time.
Impressed by their emphasis on safety. 100% focus on keepin' their team members safe is somethin' I can definitely get behind
Maybe they're not just talkin' the talk, after all.
it's time for me to start lookin' for a new gig
Been here for almost 10 months. Great place to work. Friendly. Good pay. Good incentives. As in water heaters, pad folding, safety bonus. Good nice trucks. Refrigerators. The shop will fix anything wrong with your truck. The CEO walks up to greet you by name everytime he sees you. Recruiting is great. They stand on there word 100%. You need a great place to start, or a great place to retire. This is the place. Great insurance, dental, vision. Come to ALTL anybody reading this. Seriously
A great company to work for. A small (100 drivers), family-run transportation and warehousing company that follows the principled values set forth by its local owner. ALTL mostly carries office furniture and dry goods food product. They are good to us drivers, offer plenty of opportunity to get home, have competitive wages, and the assigned dispatchers are nice because we get to know them so asking for an occasional favor is no problem. The maintenance department is second to none- they spare no expense to not only keep us drivers moving, but comfortable as well. I started driving here by training with an OTR driver and have never looked back. Been here almost 3 years now, and many of the drivers have been with the company over 20-30 years!
Their drivers are very rude and when you pass one up they are on their cellphone and look at you like you are doing something wrong. Never could get ahold of their safety department
Kristine is amazing, she helped me out a lot. Just really stinks I couldn't come up with 3,000 to do the cdl training): really wanted to be a trucker I guess maybe next year .
Great company, great people!
Excellent experience, one of few companies that dosent promise thw moon and stars to get you in the door. What they say over the phone is what you get in person.
great company. fantastic to their workers. very family oriented/friendly.
I have worked here for almost 2 years now & I have no complaints!
Awesome place! Can't wait to start working here
I worked with ALTL several years ago. Great company to work for especially when first starting in the trucking business. My training & trainer were very good. They really are good to their drivers. The mechanic shop always is on top of any problems with the trucks. I regret not appreciating all the good they did for me. If your looking for a great trucking company to work for, this is it.....
I really enjoy working at ALTL. The staff is Great, I like being able to stay in touch with the other drivers and I really enjoy being on the road.
Great Company to work for! They really care about their employees and have built a fantastic culture. Very happy to be a part of this great trucking family!
I started my truck driving carrier in 2005. After being with 3 other truck companies landing here has been the best. This is one of, if not the best company to work for.
Great place to work!
Awesome place to work!
Very nice truck
Good place to work. They take care of their employees.
This company truly values its drivers as individuals, not just numbers. They consistently make small gestures that foster a sense of respect and teamwork.
Trainer quality needs improvement—experienced trainers are hard to keep due to low pay. Every trainer I had was relatively new, which significantly impacted my learning experience and made the job more challenging.
An excellent workplace with great home time. While pay could be better, that’s common in the industry. A solid choice for starting or finishing a trucking career—I wish I were still there.
I was supposed to receive additional pay for safety compliance, but never did. When I asked about it, they kept insisting it was already included in my wages. HR refused to provide documentation, became frustrated, and asked me to leave. Don’t take everything they say at face value.
I've been with ALTL for over two years, having previously worked for a larger Midwest carrier. This company genuinely respects its drivers. I’m home every weekend—even while running over 3,000 miles per week. The trucks run at 70 mph and are well-equipped with refrigerators, APU units, and inverters. They don’t micromanage, and the office staff is fantastic. Many perks offered here are among the best in the industry. If you're looking for a great employer, ALTL is the place to be.
A great company for gaining over-the-road experience. Drivers are treated as individuals rather than statistics. Dispatch is laid-back and accommodating. Most routes are along the East Coast.
There is a strong sense of integrity and respect within this company—it feels like a family. The negative attitudes from other trucking companies don’t carry over here. Drivers enjoy freedoms rarely offered elsewhere, including choosing their own routes, schedules, and fueling stops (Pilot/Flying-J). As long as appointments are met, drivers have autonomy. A truly excellent company.
They claim dispatch isn’t forced, but drivers often end up running 2,500+ miles for low CPM. HR lacks empathy and is difficult to approach.
An excellent option for new OTR drivers. They provided great learning opportunities without pressuring me. I was always able to get home, and both dispatch and management were supportive. It took time to adjust to the driver-facing camera, but they use it as a tool for skill development rather than surveillance.
ALTL has a team-oriented approach where drivers' suggestions and concerns are genuinely valued. As a new CDL driver, I’m not sure I could have found a better company to work for.
Veteran drivers get the high-mileage, long-haul loads. Those newer to the company tend to receive lower-mileage East Coast runs. Senior drivers get routes to Florida and Texas, while others are assigned Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and shorter trips.
A solid company with friendly people. I’d still be there if I lived closer, but I had to transition away from long-haul work. A great starting point for new drivers to gain experience.
Fantastic company! Management is fair and knows drivers personally. The equipment is well-maintained, and dispatch ensures smooth operations throughout the week.
I've been with ALTL for over two years and have never worked for a company more dedicated to its employees. At ALTL, you're not just another driver—you’re part of a family.
Though ALTL is a smaller company, it offers plenty of advantages—great pay, guaranteed home time, new equipment, and steady freight. Unlike larger carriers, you’re treated as a person, not a number. A positive, driver-oriented workplace.
