Have been haulin' freight for Arka Express, Inc. for nigh on 5 years now. Great company, just apply and see for yourself
Heard they're always lookin' to expand their fleet and hire more drivers
Some folks might say they're a little too big, a little too corporate, but I say, hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Arka has been around for a long time
Helped me out with some custom solutions for my specific business needs
Solid guys. Special thanks to Tom
Love the company. All the staff is amazing. Safety department is very helpful and considerate. Recruiters are very friendly, calm, takes you seriously and answers all the questions you have. Whenever you have a problem or concern, you can call and be 100% sure that it is going to be resolved. I would say that every employee here is very hard working and takes the job to another level. Would highly recommend it!
Hey, everybody looking for a job it’s difficult in this time but do yourself a favor don’t apply for this company They going to screw you in anyway they could The desesperación They have For drivers it is unbelievable. Check the reviews before you make the same mistake. I make wishing you the best and good luck for your search
Just say you want to run a funeral home!. This trucking company is callous and flippant about people's lives!. And they are in support of their truck drivers bad behavior of almost ending lives on the road. No buisness should sponsor this nonsense by patronizing them. On the 1st April 2024 at around 9:45 - 9:55 am I had a collision with one of their drivers 10 minutes from the airport. Picture a two lane road, I pull up to the right lane at a red-light, Arka express truck on my left, because I wanted to make a right turn. Light turns green, this big!18 wheeler truck driver decides it also wants to take a right turn (mind you when I came into the right lane the truck's right turn signal was not on). Literally smashes my car on the drivers side and drags me along with it. I am screaming watching whilst my car is being smashed. I am able to guide the car into a bank's parking lot that was by the side of the road. Their driver stops, sees me and drives off onto the highway. A witness behind me was able to get the pictures of the truck and license plate number. I would have had absolutely nothing!. No information!, nothing!. And now I reach out to the company so they can take of the damage their driver caused and they are on the side of the driver. First the driver says he didn't see me. Then he says he was taking a right when I came into the lane (but I thought you didn't see me?!!!). Why did he run off he knew he was right. Never ever patronize these guys!!!. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible.
A driver hit someone into a guard rail and did not stop even tho the person was following them recording this happened in Charlotte NC and ARKA express did not claim responsibility and ruined this poor boys 30,000 dollar car as well as traumatizing him. I believe the person filed a lawsuit but I would like to see the driver claim responsibility and apologize to the child and his family these things happen but when they do that driver needs to claim responsibility.
This is about a truck with the license plate 9129671. We were a car behind this truck, traffic was a little slow due to construction. We watched this truck aggressively pull into the right lane because there were less cars. There were less cars because there were cones merging to one lane. When the driver realized this he kept aggressively trying to merge back into the left lane. I understand common courtesy while driving, but this driver was not being respectful. He finally (forcefully) merged himself into the left lane and nearly ran the black vehicle in front of us off the road. If it would have been because he couldn’t seem them, we may understand, but he rolled his window down, leaned out of his window and kept waving his arms angrily and screaming at the driver in the black car. The driving just seemed reckless and careless and I hope this will spark something to ask your drivers to be a little safer on the road.
I have been working here for a little over 6 mths. I love the miles, and home time. They get me home every weekend. I love the equipment except they are gov. At 65. I love my dispatcher deniss. They keep you running. I get paid by the hour not mile. 6 hr traffic jam I'm still getting paid, stuck at a dock for 4 hrs still get paid. So now the bad part of Arka. There is only 1 bad thing so far. I have 3 disabilities that are recognized by medical physicians. Which should allow me to have a service animal. And because my disability is not a visual disability they tell me no. In their eyes if the dog doesn't physically help me do something I'm not allowed.
Arka Express truck driver broke seal on my dry van semi trailer while I was inside of truck stop building paying for fuel. I know that Arka Express is a highly reputable trucking company. Dear safety manager at Arka Express please look into this situation, otherwise exactly same will happen again. Your company truck was behind my truck at fuel pump at Casey’s gas station at 10299 Red Arrow Rd, Bridgman MI. I attached truck stop details on picture. This happened 04/25/2024 between 7:30pm - 7:45 pm. I fueled and went inside to pay, but I had difficulties with payment for fuel. Your truck driver ripped off seal on my dry van semi trailer and took off. I saw him. He was a white male, between 30 and 45 years of age. He drove white Volvo semi truck with your logo on truck hood and white semi trailer with Arka logo. Truck stop has cameras, but second shift personnel does not have access to them. I will contact management of this truck stop to get the video. I know you have many trucks, but I am sure that you can find this driver by his logbook. This driver did this because he is 100% that he can get away with it. Prove him wrong. I will definitely switch this review to ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ if you as a company would do something about this situation. Will see.
I worked with the company for 3 months, the truck was in the shop (nearly) every week, it was extremely dangerous to put a heavy load, I tried to talk to the manager about the problem, but would never pick up the phone or return calls... the dispatcher had me running very close to violation almost every day and week...,I kept stating that the truck was not really road ready, but the loads were so important...I ran out of drive time a few times, yet I was supposed to be a local driver...I did runs that seemed more like regional than local... I just didn't like the fact that I could not get a better truck, I was not asking for a brand new truck, just something better...bottom line, I had to leave the company because I didn't feel safe with the vehicle and I didn't like the dispatching procedures... And not to mention, at the Markham, IL yard...I waited to use the restroom (only 1 small one),someone was in there, when the person came out they had urinated all over the toilet seat and just walked straight out, obviously didn't wash hands either, the sink was dry... my experience with Arka Express was bad and I have been driving trucks for a long time....some of the staff was great and some,??????
We were followed so close by an Arka Express truck that we were afraid we would get hit. We were going 59mph in a 55mph. We slowed down to a safer speed and he laid on his horn over and over. He never backed off. It was between Deerfield and Cambridge, WI. around 6:24p.m. on 3/26/24. He turned off at Cambridge.
This truck driver almost ran me and my husband off the highway on 684 today. He then continue to speed on cutting people off on all lanes. These company is negligent to allow these drivers on the road with their trucks.
Good company unfortunately low miles. Trucks are absolutely impeccable. Some dispatchers speak with a very hard European accent. Got to pay attention to understand them. Four stars is because the lease department never return my phone call after 3 months of calling them. Overall good company for a company driver who doesn't need that many miles. Nice people.
I worked for Arka Express in markham illinois from 04 03-2020 to 08-31-2023. The equipment and up keep is the best, period. I rarely missed a day of work. On 08-31-23 at 10:40 am I messaged dispatch (Orest) about not coming on 09-01-23 . He told me I have to come in to work. Despite this, I continued my work day. He knew my attendance was impeccable. I received a call from Orest about 2:30 pm stating my contract was terminated. I dedicated 2 and a half years to Arka Express, I was devastated. I've been trying to get in contact with someone at the office, left messages and have yet received a return call. I tried calling from a different phone number and this is when someone picked up. Wow
They start you off with 500 miles for 4 months then they start giving you short miles 270 and you never get pay for detention here and it’s always a problem when time to go home . , Martin, transportation, heartland express. Way better if you come here just know you not make no money
I had a great experience with Arka as a owner operator. It was 4 years and 10 months because of the market today I had to stop trucking but I have to say. Thank you for all your Suport and thanks again.
Great Place. The Staff is Awesome and the shop Takes Great Care of Our Trucks!!!! Best Place to work in my 3yrs of Trucking!! Will definitely Retire from this company!!!
I work there for over a year. It was good at first. But then they found a way to get rid of me. They only take the word of the Dispatchers.. and the dispatchers can most definitely get you fired if they don't like you... they are more focused on helping their own kind.. they most definitely keep you from reaching the full potential at that job.. I appreciate the experience.. lesson learned
Good company with nice staff. New trucks and well maintained, have apu for a comfortable and economical time in the truck.
This is actually a pretty cool company, I worked for them back in 2020 unfortunately I quit because of things I had to take care of at home.
Excellent company offering good home time, modern trucks, and competitive pay for OTR, local, and regional drivers. The best earnings I've had in trucking, and they treat drivers with respect at both terminals.
I've been with this company for 8 years, consistently paid on time every Friday. The equipment is reliable, and they make accommodations when I need time off for appointments. Drivers are valued.
Fantastic workplace! I've been a driver here for four years and love it. The management team is great—feels like working with close friends. My dispatcher is sharp, supportive, and understanding. Truck driving is tough, but if you choose it, this is the best place to be.
Best aspect of working here? Consistent pay, modern equipment, and training. The hardest part is understanding d ispatchers from other countries. Most stressful part? Communication issues with foreign dispatchers. Work environment and culture? Needs more English-speaking dispatchers. Typical day? Hard work but plenty of opportunities.
A lot of waiting on loads—5 hours at a receiver, then more time at a shipper. Hard to maximize earnings this way. Chasing empty trailers wastes half a day just to swap for a preloaded one. Short loads with tight schedules. After two months, still hoping things improve.
I’ve been here almost 7 years—great workplace. They treat drivers like family, showing the utmost respect and professionalism.
They prioritize keeping drivers on the road rather than profit. They quickly resolve issues, pay is fair, and loads aren’t forced on drivers.
Recently reduced pay structure, misleading at first. You must meet strict criteria to earn the advertised rate, otherwise, you get significantly less. Brokers now dominate loads, meaning more waiting and less driving.
Pros: Minimal interference, newer trailers, easygoing dispatch. Cons: No owner-operator support, no help with repairs, no fuel discounts, and company takes a large portion of earnings. Independent drivers get little assistance.
Best part of working here? None. Most stressful part? Everything—avoid this company. Work culture? Poor. Typical day? Constant stress.
This company doesn’t care about drivers. I never hauled a load for them. Terrible work environment. Foreign dispatchers struggle to communicate, and the shop staff is unhelpful. Many experienced drivers quit due to failures in getting them home on time.
Over 24 years of driving, and 2.5 years with this company have been the best. They prioritize family, listen to drivers, and offer achievable mileage. A Driver Council ensures concerns are addressed and implemented when possible.
I've worked here for 5 years, and it’s the best transportation company I’ve encountered. Management listens to concerns and continuously strives for improvement.
Great company with opportunities for growth. Unlike many companies, they value employees as individuals rather than numbers. Steady work, stable income, and ongoing expansion.
I like working here because of the modern equipment and fantastic staff. I could work elsewhere, but after two years, I’m still happy here.
Less than a year here, and it’s among the best companies I’ve worked for. Quickly promoted to Driver Captain due to my performance. Management genuinely respects drivers and does everything possible to keep them satisfied. Work hard, and they recognize your efforts; slack off, and you get what you deserve. The company reinvests its earnings into improving operations and supporting drivers.
Consistent miles and pay without excessive pressure. Flexible and friendly work environment, late-model trucks, and enjoyable conversations with colleagues.
Communication issues—staff is difficult to reach when needed, but overall, it’s a good workplace. Pay is reliable, and home time is reasonable.
I worked here for three months, but they withheld my pay due to outdated paperwork. Even after submitting it, they didn’t release my money. Long wait times at shippers and frequent violations of D.O.T. regulations. Often stranded after running out of hours. A terrible experience—avoid this company.
Overall, a good company, but communication could improve. Facilities aren’t up to modern standards. I’d rate them average, but still a decent place to work.
