There is a complete suppression of ideas and growth at work. The manager lies constantly and the rest of the office is made to play politics. It's a shame.

I have been at Bay Shippers 3 years as a tractor trailer driver. I like the culture and my dispatcher cares about my time and efforts put forth into the company. The workplace culture is professional and there is room to grow. The most enjoyable part of my job is making my deliveries and having satisfied customers.

Working is a large part of my life, so how I spend that time is important to me. I need a job that pays me a fair rate of pay so that I can support my family. I need time off for appointments as well as recreation. I need management that encourages me to do my best, and be my best. I need equipment that is safe, reliable and comfortable. When you add that all together you have Bay Shippers. I have a permanent truck to drive and steady loads with quarterly training videos so that I'm kept current and reminded of important safety issues. Since I'm a regional driver most of my driving is done at night for early morning deliveries. Even though it's the middle of the night, if I have an issue, either equipment, paperwork, or personal, I know that my dispatcher is only a phone call away and whatever assistance is needed will be provided. What I don't have are supervisors that don't care or who are unapproachable. Although I'm very satisfied with our pay rate and benefits, life is about more than that. Being encouraged to do a good job and appreciated for what you do makes working pleasurable and that's what we all want. I'm one of the longer term employees and I can't see myself ever working anywhere but here.

I'm relatively new to Bay Shippers, however I am a 32 year veteran driver from foodservice and LTL. Being new to container work, the company provided training and made my transition seamless. The company is driver friendly and works to ensure a good work/life balance and friendly atmosphere.
