At Berner Trucking we are always looking for dedicated, top-quality drivers across our multiple lines of business.* Our drivers spend most of their time east of the Mississippi River, but we are certainly willing to run nationally when our customers' needs require it. Our Dump Trailer drivers run on a strictly regional basis, and are rarely asked to venture more than 300 miles from Dover. These drivers haul a variety of products including coal, coke, scrap metals and limestone. Some of our Dump Trailer driver are home nightly while others are on the road 2 to 3 nights per week.

In 1946, John Berner came back from World War II and harnessed his skills as a Navy diesel mechanic to launch a trucking business. He subsequently purchased a tractor and trailer and began working with local coal companies. About 70 years later, Berner Trucking is still based in Dover, Ohio, managing around 100 tractors and 20 owner-operators.

Great trucking company. Excellent customer service. Dump, rolloff, dry van, and flatbed service available.
Went to there hog roast for hospice was a good time and good for
Drove broker from 92 to 98 then company truck in 99 then part time from 2000 to 2004 then quit and mechanicing. Some older drivers may remember "rookie" blue Pete for MB Tkng. Nothing bad to say about Berner
Great place to work... From the people in the office to the garage! I've driven for close to 30 years... One of the best places I've worked for!
This is a good place they really treat you like family here. Glad I came back & I love going out west.

Solid outfit, great management.
Great company to work for. Great owner as well as employees.
I work here27 years great place to work
Great company... Great pay.... Decent insurance.... Be home daily or out every week... Dispatch is awesome.... Owner is great... Family values.......
It's a paycheck. Dispatch plays favorites with drivers. The shop could do a better job fixing equipment when wrote up instead of breaking down while out on the road
The equipment is very old and wore out most are 2013 to2015 freight liner Columbia's with almost 800,000miles on them very outdated equipment need to update. if they get newer trucks they give them to drivers that don't take care of them. It kills me that I take very good care of my truck and I can not get one.
I leased on to Berner for several years back in 1997. Not a job per say, since I was an owner operator running my own truck. But there was always someone to help or offer advice when needed. It was a good company to work for. It was great having a company shop to get maintenance and repairs done on my rig as needed. Good company, good people, I just wish they kept records from then to verify my employment. lol
I like working for this company. Its up to me how much money i make. Some drivers complain about the money but they don't like to work either. I make great money but i'm not afraid to work for it. Benefits are pretty good too.
Low pay for the effort you put into the work week, cheap loads and percentage pay are easy to manipulate you will be able to pay your bills but for the running one does there are much better paying driving jobs in the area, especially oil and gas one would be a fool to retire from there it's mostly a stepping stone job at best
They Care about there employees. Will help anyway they can. They did me. Would recommend to anyone. Home daily. There are times when I stayed in truck but not many. Home weekend
It all depends on you, you work as hard as you want! If you give it your all they will expect that all the time. Most work is local, home daily, some otr,
Enjoy working there. Good to me and would recommend to anyone. Retirement is only reason to leave good pay and benefits. Home every nite and they are good about 2orking with you
A very great company with phenomenal ownership and management. If the company didn't downsize I would have never left this company. It was a great loss to th Toledo area.
Love working here.... dispatch is on top of it... managment is great.... mechanics garage dont waste time if problems..... equipment is good....pay is good ect......
I have worked there 3 years and first yr made 38,000 then 2nd yr made 42,500 final year I worked at Berner Trucking I made 45,000 so they told me when I started that the average salary for there Driver ‘s was 42,000 to 44,000 a year!
The job is changing due in part to contracts that have changed in the past year. The owner understands the business but the middle management & dispatchers do not.
west side is a very beautiful organized company, but it's just that there dispatchers are just on a different wave link then the drivers themselves.
Not Good! Just a Number. Not A family oriented Business anymore! Sneaky and don't tell you all the Specifics on being paid Percentage as always!
