great place to work. pay is good equipment is very well maintained. they all go out of there way to help you . I ask for something and the office or shop and they always do everything they can for you. I highly recommend them. have to leave work now due to medical issues will miss this job. they are the best people to work for. as I said before they will go the extra mile to help you. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants work great equipment and the support is best you can get
From reading all the negative feedback from the other drivers posted about all their lies and micromanaging, you would think they should at least provide the drivers with a more modern truck. Their fleet is very old. It's very insulting you also lie to the driver and micromanage them on top of giving Bad Equipment.
It's an ok place to work they have to many safety features on there trucks. Like speed Guage. They also suppose to have guaranteed pay which you don't ever get. They like to micro manage which ain't cool at all. It's like they don't trust us truck drivers to do our job. Not to mention they deal alot with brokers which sucks.
BIR is the place to be in today's trucking market. Weekly guaranteed pay, home weekly and great benefits! It is a family orientated company so your are not just a number. I love it here!
Very grateful for all the hard work from Team BIR!! Jimmy Sr, Jimmy Jr, Brad, Simrun, Eric, and all the amazing Mechanics in the shop. A special thanks to my amazing dispatch specialist Paul Singh who's amazing at his craft!! I definitely couldn't get my miles in without his wisdom! I hauled US Mail for around 12 years in Arizona before I quit and moved to Knoxville, TN. I ran the same route between Phoenix, AZ and Grand Junction, CO most of that time. I was fortunate when I quit because I was able to shop around different companies in Knoxville, TN before moving here. After looking for a few months I decided to try out BIR. There was a learning curve getting back out on the road running 11 different States. It's taken effort and focus to manage my clock efficiently. There's also been a learning curve staying within 5 miles an hour of the posted speed limit. I'm out of the wild wild West and reeling myself in has been a chore, but doable. BIR has put up some simple boundaries and expectations of their drivers. As I follow their policies, they pretty much leave me alone and don't micro manage me, that's priceless!! I also want to mention that the Insurance has been extremely affordable and has worked extremely well for my wife and I. My wife had almost died of a respiratory illness in 2006. Then she had 2 brain surgeries back to back in 2020. She suffers from 3 different types of arthritis and we have to stay on top of all of this, all the time. So far the insurance has been brilliant!! My wife has been able to navigate through it effortlessly! Happy wife, Happy Life!! All in all I'm very grateful to have found a job that pays well, has good insurance and has a Team that puts me in a position to succeed. I'm grateful for the work and amazing people I work for!! I'm definitely planting some roots with this company. Being on the road 5 days a week is a grind. Not everything is always perfect. But I know Team BIR is in the background doing all they can to keep me moving. Thanks Team BIR!!! BOOOOOM!! 💪💪👊💥💥💥
BIR Transport: We are a small trucking company in East Tennessee. We have 57 Power units and 129 dry vans in our fleet. This gives us a 2 to 1 ration of vans to trucks allowing us to take advantage of numerous drop and swap possibilities. We operate in about a 600-mile radius of Knoxville, TN with docile parking in Draper VA and Augusta, GA. Our satellite terminals allow us to hire out of multiple markets. Our drivers are home every weekend. Normally by Friday afternoon or evening, then departing late Sunday evening or early AM hours on Monday. We offer both hourly and mileage pay options and flexible schedules. We do NOT have all of our eggs in one basket. Yes, we do use brokers as most all fleets our size do. However, we have been delivering customer shipments to the same areas for years which has allowed us to create good working relationships with several quality brokers. We currently have 52 drivers on our roster, of those drivers, we have 31 drivers between 1 and 9.5 years of service. Turnover is inevitable in trucking! If a driver reaches the 1-year anniversary of employment at BIR Transport, he or she is apt to remain employed for multiple years. Come join us, see what we can do to advance your career as a Professional Truck Driver.
After about 20 years in the transportation industry as an Over the Road and Regional Driver, I am pleasured to say that BIR is the best company I’ve driven for. From the drivers, dispatch, mechanics and administration up to the owner, there’s not been a better group of ladies and gentlemen the I’ve worked with. Giving the driver an above average pay, newer top notch equipment, respect and focusing on quality family time to give them a well rounded life as a “Truck Driver.”
I've been here 5 years. Great company to work for. Dispatchers treat drivers well. Trucks and Trailers are well maintained. Good miles and pay. Would definitely recommend to other drivers.
I have been working with Gary and SJ for quite some time and they are very organized and responsive. The few issues that have came up they were quick to resolve and get taken care of and will continue working with them as they make things easier. Thanks fellas!
I've been with this company 3and a half years. My dispatcher keeps me moving. Home every weekend. Our equipment is always at its best. Shop is quick to have your truck ready to roll. We have def at all our terminals. If you have a problem will try to work it out. It has now been over 7 years and still here. If you want to be home on weekends and want to make some good money come join the BIR Team.
Family run and only family they really care about! Website lies only Freightliner trucks, most older! They also lie about guaranteed weekly pay= the guaranteed is that they will work you to death! Dispatch are in India! They make you drive broken truck and or trailer until you make it back to the shop. Also want you to drive on PC time sometimes to get ahead. The safety bonus are nice though!
My opinion, not very well organized i have trouble understanding Dispatcher their all based in India.they have sent me to drop empty trailer to pick up a empty. Company just not for me
BIR Transport takes care of their employees and customers. The slogan says it all
Great company to work for as I’ve been here 20 years!
I have nothing good to say, so I will say nothing except they make it difficult to pursue opportunities elsewhere when you leave them.
It’s like the HR woman has no clue what she is doing or where she even is. I called up there because on their job posting it said 2 years preferred and I have a year and eight months, she herself set up and interview for me and then on the day of the interview I never heard from them! I called back the next week and she said something different, so I fill out my application and then she says I don’t have enough experience even though she already knew I didn’t and set up a pointless interview that they didn’t even follow up on! They are so unorganized and completely oblivious to everything going on and if they can’t even organize an interview then they surely can’t run a successful trucking company

If you are looking for home, come be part of BIR Team!
This trucking company struggles with communication, treating employees as numbers and frequently adjusting pay scales. They overwork staff and are frugal with equipment repairs and necessary tools. However, they offer a good safety bonus and home weekends. Dispatch is handled by an Indian call center.
Working here is pleasant with flexible dispatch that accommodates my need to get home, even early if requested. Routes are usually consistent with the same pick-up and drop-off points. It's a great place to work.
This is the worst company I've ever worked for. They promise bonuses for safe driving but micromanage excessively. I've had issues with management and dispatch speaking rudely to drivers.
What is the best part of working at the company? The best part is the abundance of freight, even though they mainly work with brokers. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The excessive micromanagement is very stressful. Instead of letting truck drivers do their jobs, they dictate when to go and stop, and you don't get paid for supposed out-of-route trips. The pay is based on practical miles, which is zip code to zip code. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The people are somewhat great to work with. What is a typical day like for you at the company? A typical day involves dropping off a trailer, picking up another one, and heading to a different location.
They have a great office in Knoxville with excellent staff, but payroll is controlled by one person based on the dispatcher's input, not actual work. If there's a discrepancy, like working over the weekend but not being listed under loads by dispatch, you might not get paid. For example, I worked five days but was only paid for 850 miles.
Great place to work; they don't bother you and put a lot of trust in you. The company also recognizes your needs and works with you. Thumbs up, kudos.
Great place to work! The hours are excellent, management promptly addresses issues, and everyone gets along well. The best parts of the job are the hours and the people.
I have been with BIR for six years and would recommend the company to anyone looking for a driving position. The pay is competitive, and the company staff is supportive.
Great company to work for. The equipment is new and well-maintained. Management and dispatchers are very helpful. The pay is great, and it's a family-oriented company that takes good care of its employees and drivers.
There are many things I like about BIR Transport. The pay and benefits are great, and they ensure you get your home time every week. They are understanding when I need a day off and are very family-oriented. When my mother passed away while I was working, they had me home within 24 hours, which meant a lot to me. They also ensure I get the miles I need each week. Overall, they are a great company to work for and offer the best safety bonus.
I have been working with BIR for more than five years. The company has a positive attitude, growth, and advancement. It's a great company that provides a profitable and stable career. I can proudly say it's a great company with a great future.
As a driver, I feel very lucky to have good home time, new equipment, mostly drop and hooks, and a load planner that helps me get home on time. We have a good customer base.
