Been with boyd since winter 2013. My first couple years there was many weekends i got stuck out. But never two weekends in a row. But i didnt complain i hung in, yet since my third yr ive been home every weekend like clock work. They have treated me well. They were my first cdl job and have had no reason to leave. Its the trucking business, you have to expect to be away from home. There will be times you wont make it home, but that will be the weeks you will have your biggest paychecks. There will be days you have to wait three hrs to get loaded or unloaded. There will be days shippers or consignees will be rude. There will be days your stuck on I75 for hrs because of a wreck. Its gonna happen. Truck driving is for strong men & women. If you are not, find another career. They do their best to accommodate. You dont think dispatchers, planners, management have bad days? Sure they do, its called life. Dont believe all the winers believe the winners. And yes I am really just a boyd company driver, not a recruiter.
I was put on probation and the fired for the same thing 30 days later.some really shady stuff took place at boyd.i heard it was a great company to work but now i wouldnt recommend nobody to drive for them.i saw 20 drivers quit in 30 days
Hardly ever home...the "every weekend" home time is a lie, he barley gets every other weekend home time...the fleet manager claims he called 4xs his phone never got a missed call, so they towed his truck...the fleet manager also never answers his phone...goodluck to whoever is employed here with "home-time" and getting a decent fleet manager!
Stay away from this place they say treat you like family b,s the pay isn't worth the your time please reconsider I repeat stay away your going to regret it
Great starter company, stayed there 5 years. 1.5 years company driver then leasted my truck. Paid off truck and now I work for my self. Things are going good. I work about 4 days a week and home for 3 days a week. Hard work pays off sometimes...
It's an aging company to start off with home every weekend and sometimes during the week and bad thing is the unloading and loading process cam be hectic
Decent pay, good equipment and opportunity for growth. They'll teach you load securement fundamentals to keep yourself and the motoring public safe. Some great dispatchers.
