Buchanan began as a family business, and it has remained a family business even as it’s grown. There are still company cookouts on Friday afternoons in the summer. There’s not a lot of red tape: If you’ve done a good job, Geary Buchanan or one of the managers might stop by your desk with a surprise gift card or take you out to lunch. In fact, Geary and Becky Buchanan are still very much the heart of this company. They’re readily available to any of their team, whether it be logistics, drivers, dispatch, safety … anyone.

So to be completely honest and transparent I do not and have not worked for this company. However I've seen there advertisement on YouTube and if I were a truck driver. In the Fort Wayne area I'd strongly consider working for this company
One star is for the fact that we had to submit the invoice 5 times with the only reason it wasn't more times is because we were finally told that a 'stamp' on the 'back' of the BOL needed sent also. The second/third star is for Reagan B. clearing up the payment issue on her FIRST try! Way to go Reagan (AND her supervisor)! We will see how the next load goes now that we have been made aware of ALL requirements (?).
I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the outstanding service Robert Hall provided us with. His dedication to scheduling and keeping us informed on the delivery of our LTM 1120 was truly remarkable. We appreciate all your efforts and your commitment to providing exceptional service. Your professionalism and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Thank you for making our experience a positive one. We look forward to working with you again in the future.
I have been using Buchanan Hauling for my shipments for over 5 years and I am never disappointed with the service I receive. I had never heard of them prior but took a shot on them and am so grateful I did. Buchanan is willing to go above and beyond for their customers and it shows with the positive feedback we get from the receivers. My contact is always positive to deal with, prompt, professional and exceptionally knowledgeable. Zero issues I highly recommend Buchanan for your logistics needs from start to finish.
Robert and Amanda are second to none in the trucking business. They never let you down and always come through at a fair price. Highly recommended.
I guess your driver in trk 2860 pulling trailer 53FO38 doesn't like following speed limits. Said driver passed me in Illnois at MM 149.81 doing 65 or better and the speed limit is 60 for trucks Then the speed drops to 55 for all and the driver is still running 65 or better. Good job on the "professional" drivers.
In the days of brokers that sometimes do not excude professionalism, Buchanan goes the extra mile. On point communication and fair price, in light of the current market. Alex M. [BROKER] was diligent with communication and resolved our concerns in a timely manner, and I sincerely appreciated that. Highly recommended and will haul for them anytime.
Brokerage agent, Michael is a liar, has no integrity even sent his word an email honoring a particular rate, then changed it after the load was delivered I will not haul For them again
One of the best companies I have ever worked for . Treated me with respect with open door policies. To bad I have to leave . But I will definitely recommend it . If you are looking for honest respectful work environment.
Buchanan has an amazing team of hard-working individuals. It is a family owned business and treat their employees like family members as well.
Hear a lot good things about this company and can’t wait to start there
My son in law and 2 nephews work here and they love it.
Good equipment and maintenance. Decent pay Depending on how dispatched. Good office people, driver managers, planners, shop personnel to work with. Flatbed, heavy haul and dry van.
The company puts their loads. Before the welfare of the driver. They don't care if you are tired or need time off. Loads come first. Very rude dispatch
Awesome company. Not just a number at Buchanan, they truly care about their drivers! Great pay and home time. Nice equipment but they do have driver facing cameras until your truck is paid off.
Poor leadership allows other depts to steer/ influence direction of company. Equipment not maintained properly and breakdowns poorly handled. Dispatch was good but often times you will be waiting with no pay. Not paid for resets
while working there it was the most money I've ever made but I earned every dime. I had to leave the company for medical reasons. after almost a year and a half go by and I call them up to see if they still want mean they say, sure your rehire able, and the medical gets put off for another 6 months. Done with the doctors now and it goes to the FMCSA now. So I call them back and after a month I finally get some one in human resources that tells me I haven't got enough to satisfy their requirement's so goodbye to them for now I guess.
Buchanan is a good company. You work Mon-Fri off every weekend. Seems like it would be great, but it’s very frustrating during the week. They’ll ask you to pull a trailer out of a customer or something, then when you get there to pull the load for them it’s not available or lost, so they’ll have you sitting doing absolutely nothing, completely screwing up your pre-plan, to find an alternative for you to take out for them. Most of the dispatchers don’t know what they are doing at all, they have to call up to 2 other people to tell them what to do, in order for them to give me the directive. It’s very unorganized and frustrating, but the pay is okay(long as you keep track of what you did, bc they would not pay you if they could), you’re home on the weekends, and it’s good experience. Two other things I hate about this company is all the cameras on the windshield and the outside mirrors(4 cameras in total ) and the trucks are governed at 65mph(talk about )
The company puts their loads. Before the welfare of the driver. They don't care if you are tired or need time off. Loads come first. Very rude dispatch
Make great money just expect to work a lot and be out of town a lot. New equipment and good dispatchers. A lot of last minute dispatches to go out of town
Florida drivers got a huge paycut from 1500$ min to zero, have to work day and night to make the amount of money they need with a min of sleep. They are looking for excuses to fire older drivers with experience. Don't apply there
Could be a great job but dispatch and management is running it into the ground. Long hours. Unsafe equipment. Zero respect from dispatchers who are clueless
The loads are very inconsistent they leave you out for weeks with only doing two maybe four loads a week. All their loads are low paying. They force drivers to take loads they are not willing to take
I think the job was great and amazing. I really enjoyed working for this company. They helped me to be the best I could be. They were always there to help me and take care of me.
They gave me the Run around consistentlt ignored driver about issues and required equip they forced unsafe situations as far as load/equip cheap pay just a number
Tienen mucha preferencia para dar el trabajo parece que los despachadores cobran
The company puts their loads. Before the welfare of the driver. They don't care if you are tired or need time off. Loads come first. Very rude dispatch
El pago por movidas muy bajo mucha preferencia para ciertos choferes y muy bajo sueldo.
Promises not kept difficult communication with supervisors, no advancement opportunity. Pay was good, but routes and hours did not due pay justice. Promise to advance when hired but does not happen. Upper management is micro managed in some areas; some people just don't care, just doing their job for the pay check. Benefits are a little high but they compensate to bring down the cost. Overall, Buchannan is not a bad place to work; I worked there for nearly 3 years. You would have to be someone who likes the same old routine everyday, with no desire of change.
The company puts their loads. Before the welfare of the driver. They don't care if you are tired or need time off. Loads come first. Very rude dispatch
Goood place to work some times its stresfull like other companies need improvement. Pay by hourly not by the load when u do local. Over all its good company
