I work for this company is not good . i still remember they never had oil for the truck and i write up what wrong with the truck. they get mad then you get wrote up for doing your job.
I've worked with Central Transport for years. Its a great company that really takes care of its people.
Wonderful company. I love this company . Central transport is the best
Good company to drive for, always been well taken care of.
Dock work, city, and linehaul pay well. Runs are flat rate, but mileage and hourly pay are solid. Home daily with no weekend work, but benefits are lacking—high medical deductibles, poor 401k match, and minimal PTO. Raises are small, and some trailers are in poor condition. Expect 10-12 hour shifts. Good pay and home time, but below-average benefits and equipment.
After researching many companies, I’m grateful Central Transport hired me and keeps me busy! The drivers here are great, and management is hiring quality people. At 46, this is the best company I’ve worked for—great pay, benefits, and a trustworthy team. If you’re a skilled driver with a clean record, apply at your nearest location!
A good workplace with friendly people. Drivers help each other out, creating a positive atmosphere.
Detroit & South Bennett IL have the worst management—rude and unprofessional. Other locations are much better.
Avoid this company. Poor equipment, misleading pay, and indifferent management. You’ll regret working here.
Typical day: 9-11 hours driving, 3-4 hours dock work. Management is either terrible or absent. Pay is decent for the work—when they actually pay you. Payroll issues are common, so monitor your checks closely.
Do not work here! Management is awful, and I wasn’t paid for days worked. They kept giving me excuses about my pay. Left after a month and still haven’t received my wages.
Getting hired was a nightmare. Spent the first week being sent home due to printer issues. Training was promised but never happened—I was thrown into driving without proper backup skills or forklift training. Trainer was disengaged, constantly on his phone, and avoided dock work. Long hours with low training pay—felt exploited.
Three-week wait for the first paycheck. No scheduling flexibility. Dirty trucks and poor communication from management.
Longer hours than expected, but seniority gives experienced drivers an advantage.
The $2,000 per week claim is misleading. Lime haul drivers work 12-14 hours daily and barely gross $1,600 per week. “Trip pay” hides the fact that drivers earn only $0.54-$0.55 per mile, far below the industry standard. Employees and managers are great, but corporate micromanages everything. High driver turnover.
No overtime pay until after 55 hours per week—wasn’t disclosed in the interview. Learned about it from another driver after starting. Left because of this.
Toxic work environment—micromanagement, no open-door policy, no flexibility for emergencies, retaliation from management, and favoritism.
Wouldn’t recommend this company. Poor treatment of employees, no response to applications or inquiries. Recruiters need to improve.
Worked here for two days—never got paid. Trailers are unsafe, management is incompetent, and getting help requires calling “line haul” and waiting on hold. Once hired, they ignore you. Stay away!
Detroit & South Bennett IL have the worst management—rude and unprofessional. Other locations are much better.
Flexible job, but terrible pay. Expect to maneuver a 53ft truck in tight spaces. Work is slow, dispatcher is ineffective, and benefits are poor.
No support for illness, pregnancy, or disabilities. If injured on the job, expect corporate to find a reason to fire you.
