Commercial Transport Inc. has been transporting freight since 1938 and was recognized as an official company in 1940. We started by employing dump truck services for local construction projects, including the expansion of Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. After done with the runway projects, we began hauling fuel for the aircraft at the base. As the war progressed, the demand for our services grew, leading us to expand our hauling capabilities.

Well great owners. There mangers are not so great. A lot discrimination going on in the Mt.vernon site. Work there for years.
Managers are great, dispatch answers the phone, communication is clear, equipment is repaired in a timely manner, & I’m encouraged to ask questions and learn
The insurance could definitely be better. Wait time at the mill too long when behind. The job is easy Value your employees they will appreciate the job.
The owners are good people, but the job is not. Basically you must be available during the day, at night, and over the weekend. This could be 24 hours a day if the plant has delays or shut down
really enjoyed working here. Some of the bad things are completely unorganized and paperwork gets piled up, part are stored in some of the most unorganized ways in certain spots..but I feel like it’s enough work to keep one person busy 40-45 hours a week but then sometimes you need a extra person to get paperwork done while someone helps the mechanics bill out part…I really liked everyone I worked with very good people but the one thing is that if the owners wife I guess she is still an owner if she doesn’t like then your gone…even if you NEVER gave her a reason to dislike you she just won’t take the time to get to know you or just judges based on looks or something, was never givin a reason I was let go but told I did an amazing job and I was big into getting the place organized and I worked hard at doing that, I would go back in a heartbeat but I don’t recommend for someone who doesn’t like to be judged cause she will judge you without even knowing you and it’s pretty sad people are like that but oh well definitely was a great job oh and also there is no computer system to look up parts that customers bring to you you just kinda have to figure it out witch can be frustrating
The talk at this company is not just talk, they put words into action and try to make sure promises are kept. The culture is outstanding and people are truly genuine in what they say. And we Help Feed America !!
Hard to get equipment work on. Every tight with tires for hazmat driving, 2 to 4 four hrs to shop for Maintenance repairs. Need to step up helping drivers with newer equipment. A lot of trailersare 20 to w8 years old.
Long days, 10-14 hours, pay is OK. Dispatch is ok. Smaller company, fairly friendly, and family oriented. Trucks are maintained, some newer, mostly older daycab freightliners.
I enjoyed driving for this company. They were easy to get along with, they would work you if you were willing to work. I wish I had never left, but I was offered a new driving opporunity.
They "promise" to pay A LOT more than you will ever see. They really don't care about anything other than moving loads. It is a small company that focuses more on management income than driver satisfaction.
They are still behind the time when it comes to technology. The company will not fight for the drivers. Loved them for the longest time but towards the end just lost the love.
What is the best part of working at the company? East work once you learn how the trailer works. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? High cost of insurance. But they do have company match 401k What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Everyone kinda keeps bust and that's how it goes smoothly. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Pretty much Predictable. Same few stops. Same few customers.
good pay good people long hours but lots of pros also. i feel they are working hard to change some of the negative issues. they have been more than fair to me. Thier is issues with every job but I do enjoy it here. i make more here than any place before
Bad place to work, very inconsistent hours, management and dispatch are a joke. They paitn a decent picture in interview and that's mostly lies. Only good part is the equipment.
Great Company, great people! They take great care in maintaining tractors and trailers. The hardest part of the job is the total hours required. Dispatch will keep you busy and informed.
This company has been really good to me! I'm respectful to them (dispatchers and management) they return that same respect. I make a great living. You can basically write your own paycheck if you're willing to work. There are only two things I'd like to see changed. More vacation and the weekend bonus policy. I would recommend this company to anyone.
There is always work, even if it waiting on someone else to get the load ready. The mill you pull for will help determine how long your day is. Not the worst place to work.
Not a good place to work. Just need you for their grind. The absolute example Of dead end job. Constantly messing with pay and benefits to save a buck ,or so it would seem
Pay could be better and benefits could be a lot better . Every carrier has their pros and cons. The office/dispatch/operations supervisor is great! ….
Company is great good benefits like one seventie for family medical a week. Covers good. Pay is average. Higher up are involved in a good way. If you are looking at the preloader job. Hope you like the hOod. And not gun shy. There’s holes in adm building to back my talk up on that. Ot if you like. Most time you work 6 days a week.
It’s probably the easiest job I’ve ever had. Take your empty to the yard, pick up a loaded trailer and go blow it off at the customer. The pay isn’t bad and you’re home everyday but they do usually want you to work 6 days a week so you’ll get close to your 70 hours in every week.
COMMERCIAL TRANSPORT is one of the best trucking companies out there. they are very understanding and apprietive of the hard work of its workers and drivers. I was very content and happy to work there. I would highly recomment working for them. you'll work hard but take time off when you have doctor appointment. look into them if you like a satisfying job. sorry I was canned. just keep your hours legal. THE OWNERS ARE VERY KIND AND SUPPORTIVE
Clueless management not enough good paying loads. Pay is up then down week to week. ADM treats this company like a rag doll.they hold the purse strings. And look at Cti like take it or leave it. Therefore loads dont pay enough. Work 12 to 14. 5 to 6 days a week make 1000 to 1200
This is a Pneumatic tanker company that has great potential for work and income. However, they failed miserably. Every time I went to do training, they kept pulling me off to do other projects. So I never got the appropriate training unloading the tankers and was relegated to shuttle work. Then with covid-19 that work dried up and I was laid off. If you don't know anything about pneumatic tankers, do not work here.
To much favoritism with driver's you get stuck with whatever is left.. Bad management very bad... They just have the wrong people in the office in Beech grove Indiana.. So so sad cause they have excellent accounts just the wrong people running the operation... The dispatchers let the driver's tell them what there doing have the time so so sad...
