The pay is better than any other company I've worked for
The training program is comprehensive
Never been disappointed. Their customer service team is incredibly responsive
Implemented some great changes over the years
My dream came true. I have good route and a comfortable schedule
They where straight forward and honest people Jason at the indy location was awesome and the schooling was top notch and easy to where anyone can understand and pass.
Very bad safety depth. Also beware of the driver facing cameras cause they can watch you long as they like to. This acts like it cares about safety but only when it affects them not us the drivers. I hope drivers stay away from this company.
I was always wondering why my checks with Continental were always low. This week I reviewed my settlement summary closely and noticed that it was 600 miles short of my odometer. I called payroll and they said that they use a program that goes from city to city. I asked what my miles from last week were, and they stated 2500. I had 3058 miles on my odometer. I was told when I was recruited that I would get between 2500 and 3000 miles per week. This is not the case. If you don't heed my warning and decide to drive for Continental, expect a lot of live loads and live unloads. Expect these live unloads to take 9 hours. Just remember I warned you when you take on a position with Continental.
It says at the front gate of this receiver not to park in the no parking zones. But I guess your driver’s are above the rules. Even though there is a staging and overnight area. He was too busy chatting with the guy in the dock to be concerned about his truck being where it wasn’t supposed to be. Then watched me back up to get to my dock (of which he was slightly in the way of) and continued just talking to his buddy. It wasn’t until I was in the dock with my truck off that he finally moved. My guess is this is one of your accounts because there are multiple drivers and trailers here. So your driver’s think they are above the rules because they come here all the time. Meanwhile myself and another driver parked in the staging area to walk down and get our door assignments. Completely out of everyone’s way. Now he gets to back into his door with no issues or obstruction because nobody was in HIS way. Maybe just teach your driver’s how to follow rules and how to have overall courtesy for other drivers. It’s hard enough out here without us making each other’s lives harder.
Terrible experience with this company! Let’s start by saying don’t waste your time it’s better companies out here!!! This company is new in Illinois, so everything is new to them. They will tell you lies to get you in the door and when you’re finally ready to start working everything has changed. Very unorganized and misleading! They had me bobtail from Ohio to Illinois and the next day they tell me “oh you will be driving 500 miles a day” like yall might as well have regional drivers this is not local work. So they promised me $850 to drive the truck and now they want to pay me $77 for that one day. Before, picking up contracts just making sure you know what’s going on before hiring drivers!
Note from ODOT: Please provide the following specifics, including the county of your concern if applicable, for timely attention and to help us route your message, please and thank you! Name: Continental Express Trucking out of Sydney, Ohio. Subject: Dispatcher asking family member to roll back clock or doctor logs. Comments/Concerns: Example of employees driving 600 miles in a with 16 hours on job to deliver a Live load that might add another 1-6 hours that driver has to stay awake with dispatchers pushing the sleep timeframes by making logs look like person is on break so it looks legal, I would encourage truckers out there to report to ODOT any unusual requests made by a dispatcher telling you to doctor your logs or trim miles so another load can be delivered or picked up as to appear like you have more time on your clock, or you as a driver experienced something not right by being asked to do something illegally, but being pawned off as normal practice. Because it's not! I am not saying All the dispatchers are doing this, but I have a family member reporting violation after outright violation that affects drivers time off. He told me recently he was off shift, dead asleep 4 hours and company sent someone out to bang on his door and wake him up to get a load going. I'm asking management to look into this practice and address it before a whistle blower takes it to any agency to investigate, including Odot. Not all people are bad there, but there are a few that are abusing the drivers rights and If you are a driver today, and experience any thing questionable, please don't hesitate to report the problem so authorities can root out these types of people that push drivers hours to be humanly unsafe and no one is addressing it because they are afraid. I am not an employee, but my family member is and he's recording and documenting this 1 particular dispatcher, but there could be other like minded persons doing this. Drivers work hard, long hours and family does care when those members don't make it home when expected for their scheduled days off. Company says sorry your stuck in another State but then treats as this is just normal practice in how valuable human being lives are? I hope owner wakes up and takes investigating his own company before something happens that will make him wish he did listen before all the texts, audio, documentation and records are reviewed. The next driver in a Fatal accident due to lacking sleep, the company might have a lot of explaining to do.
I 💙 Continental Express! Salt Lake City, Utah dedicated run.
Low life company from owner to dispatch to safety. Fired me due to what I believe to be my health and disability. Never had any safety issues but said that’s why I was terminated. Funny thing is other drivers had more safety issues than me with more wreaks and pushing a truck with a truck by himself. 10 years and no issues gone just to lower their insurance premiums. Do not work for them especially if you have medical problems because they don’t care.
DONT WORK HERE!! They have a system when you quit which they will force you to do they take all your money drove 7 days for $280 and I’ve been driving over 8 years told them I’ll take the truck back but they got it quick so they can charge me $700 for not bringing it back when they don’t pay you enough to pay someone or to put gas in your own vehicle to make it back home it’s a scam 💯percent to move freight payin as little as possible I had to borrow money from my son which doesn’t make sense after being in a truck all week and this is a multi million dollar business I assume that you can’t get nothing from you can literally work a fast food job and get paid more then these ppl pay they first 2 checks I assume because theyll run you away so they won’t have to pay you what you worth do yourself a favor don’t waste time like I did we only live once don’t go here
I worked there about 9 years ago had great experience when I worked with them then I left them to become an owner operator and just happened to be in Sydney and look them up while I'm getting loaded but to me there were great people I'm a great money had absolutely no problems sometimes drivers make their own problems
Great company to work! Great up to date trucks and as I stated in the past equipment is readily maintained! They go above and beyond to work with me when I need to be off or somewhere!
If I could give zero stars I would but my husband has been working with them for a month now being teams with his dad now that they are not being teams they told my husband that they pretty much don’t need him now told him he has to finish his training even when he finished they are not professional at all
On paper this company looks great….until you see your spouse leaving home at 4am and arriving back home after 9pm. I’ve never heard a company treat an employee like this one for standing up for their CDL license. I am saddened to know they don’t worry about an over hours violation or accident risk for their experienced drivers or any driver. Running a local driver 500+ miles in a day, with multiple stops, load time and delays for paperwork or traffic is called forced dispatch. And this company threatens disciplinary action, if you disobey or refuse a load, trying to protect yourself and your CDL license clean driving record. Shameful way to run a business. They are not a family oriented, employee first company, they are a money hungry corporation with lack of transportation distribution knowledge. And they simply don’t care.
Don't ever work for this place !! Stay away ! This company keeps very dollar you make when it comes time to quit , aside from being profiled for everything you do when you working for them, so i dont understand why even hire someone with Ethnicity if your gonna be constantly profiled by management because of a selected few employees , I thought I'd be working for a professional company , only to find out its like working in elementary ... and their trucks are messed up (in nicer terms), especially when they let the selected few think the company trucks are their personal property!! Smh.. such a cluster of f's in this place ...
I have never worked for this company and already have a bad experience They email me a link to apply and waste my time. According to them I don’t have enough experience, blah blah blah it is so unprofessional, expecting too much like they are so perfect
Drivers treated like slaves. Dispatch calls drivers while they are 10hours off duty at home sleep. To get them to come in sooner than fully rested. Very unsafe. Drove for them 1 month only. Biggest reason. They would not give me the promised 60 hours per week. One excuse after another .
GREAT COMPANY TO WORK FOR. YOU ARE TREATED LIKE FAMILY. LOVE THIS PLACE.
Worked for this company for a month but struggled financially due to their unexpected two-week pay delay. This crucial information should be disclosed before hiring, not during orientation. Had I known, I would have never taken the job, as it severely impacted my financial stability.
The company has been decent for the six months I’ve been here. Trucking comes with its own set of challenges, but overall, they maintain their trucks well. Unfortunately, the insurance options leave much to be desired.
The pay is acceptable, but expect to work 60+ hours a week without overtime—just straight time. Most dispatchers lack firsthand truck driving experience, though there are a few good ones. It operates like a typical trucking company.
This is the best trucking company I’ve ever worked for. They are knowledgeable, willing to support you when needed, and don’t interfere unnecessarily.
The company genuinely cares about its drivers and always ensures I have loads to haul. It makes work enjoyable, and the people here are great. The hardest part is waiting for loads, but the best part is being on the road.
Job security is a major benefit—there’s consistent work with no slowdowns. The pay is the biggest perk. However, getting timely responses to questions can be frustrating. Dispatchers are great to work with, but the local trucks are in rough condition, with worn-out seats and front-end issues that can take a toll after long shifts.
Dispatchers are highly responsive, making sure you get the help you need quickly. The pay is decent, but hard workers can make it work. The well-maintained fleet keeps operations running smoothly, and there are various accounts to choose from depending on your needs.
This company prioritizes maximizing driver workload over well-being. They encourage inefficient sleep break schedules, making drivers work harder without offering fair compensation. Those who push back on their demands end up with lower-paying assignments, making it difficult to earn a decent wage
Every job has pros and cons, and this one is no exception. While no company is perfect, this job suits me well. The pay is good, the people are helpful, and the equipment is decent.
The recruiter misleads potential hires just to get them on board. Expect to spend countless hours sitting in loading docks making minimal wages. The pay starts low and doesn’t improve over time.
The company has a strong family-oriented culture, and dispatchers genuinely work with drivers to make things smoother. I rarely felt stressed, and when there were issues with my co-driver, management helped place me with someone more compatible.
This is the best trucking company I’ve worked with. They treat drivers as individuals, not just numbers. Being family-owned creates a more personal work environment, and their flexible scheduling and top-notch equipment maintenance make all the difference.
A great company offering regular raises and achievable bonuses. Their focus on driver safety and overall well-being sets them apart. They make sure employees are financially secure and supported both on the road and at home.
Some drivers earned more than others, largely based on assignment locations. There’s noticeable favoritism in the company, which makes it frustrating for those who aren't among the preferred employees.
Avoid this place. The management at the Sidney, OH location has a terrible attitude and little regard for drivers. They constantly pressure workers to deliver loads and pay a mere $0.48 per mile—hardly worth the effort given the distances covered..
I worked a local route for a few months and had a great experience. The management was communicative, the equipment was in excellent condition, and coworkers—both drivers and office staff—were easy to get along with. The pay was prompt, and the scheduling was flexible.
Short-haul loads under 300 miles were too frequent, making it hard to maintain a solid income. I had to constantly push for longer routes, but most weeks, I couldn’t break 2,000 miles, making it difficult to earn a decent living.
