They where straight forward and honest people Jason at the indy location was awesome and the schooling was top notch and easy to where anyone can understand and pass.
Very bad safety depth. Also beware of the driver facing cameras cause they can watch you long as they like to. This acts like it cares about safety but only when it affects them not us the drivers. I hope drivers stay away from this company.
I was always wondering why my checks with Continental were always low. This week I reviewed my settlement summary closely and noticed that it was 600 miles short of my odometer. I called payroll and they said that they use a program that goes from city to city. I asked what my miles from last week were, and they stated 2500. I had 3058 miles on my odometer. I was told when I was recruited that I would get between 2500 and 3000 miles per week. This is not the case. If you don't heed my warning and decide to drive for Continental, expect a lot of live loads and live unloads. Expect these live unloads to take 9 hours. Just remember I warned you when you take on a position with Continental.
It says at the front gate of this receiver not to park in the no parking zones. But I guess your driver’s are above the rules. Even though there is a staging and overnight area. He was too busy chatting with the guy in the dock to be concerned about his truck being where it wasn’t supposed to be. Then watched me back up to get to my dock (of which he was slightly in the way of) and continued just talking to his buddy. It wasn’t until I was in the dock with my truck off that he finally moved. My guess is this is one of your accounts because there are multiple drivers and trailers here. So your driver’s think they are above the rules because they come here all the time. Meanwhile myself and another driver parked in the staging area to walk down and get our door assignments. Completely out of everyone’s way. Now he gets to back into his door with no issues or obstruction because nobody was in HIS way. Maybe just teach your driver’s how to follow rules and how to have overall courtesy for other drivers. It’s hard enough out here without us making each other’s lives harder.
Terrible experience with this company! Let’s start by saying don’t waste your time it’s better companies out here!!! This company is new in Illinois, so everything is new to them. They will tell you lies to get you in the door and when you’re finally ready to start working everything has changed. Very unorganized and misleading! They had me bobtail from Ohio to Illinois and the next day they tell me “oh you will be driving 500 miles a day” like yall might as well have regional drivers this is not local work. So they promised me $850 to drive the truck and now they want to pay me $77 for that one day. Before, picking up contracts just making sure you know what’s going on before hiring drivers!
Note from ODOT: Please provide the following specifics, including the county of your concern if applicable, for timely attention and to help us route your message, please and thank you! Name: Continental Express Trucking out of Sydney, Ohio. Subject: Dispatcher asking family member to roll back clock or doctor logs. Comments/Concerns: Example of employees driving 600 miles in a with 16 hours on job to deliver a Live load that might add another 1-6 hours that driver has to stay awake with dispatchers pushing the sleep timeframes by making logs look like person is on break so it looks legal, I would encourage truckers out there to report to ODOT any unusual requests made by a dispatcher telling you to doctor your logs or trim miles so another load can be delivered or picked up as to appear like you have more time on your clock, or you as a driver experienced something not right by being asked to do something illegally, but being pawned off as normal practice. Because it's not! I am not saying All the dispatchers are doing this, but I have a family member reporting violation after outright violation that affects drivers time off. He told me recently he was off shift, dead asleep 4 hours and company sent someone out to bang on his door and wake him up to get a load going. I'm asking management to look into this practice and address it before a whistle blower takes it to any agency to investigate, including Odot. Not all people are bad there, but there are a few that are abusing the drivers rights and If you are a driver today, and experience any thing questionable, please don't hesitate to report the problem so authorities can root out these types of people that push drivers hours to be humanly unsafe and no one is addressing it because they are afraid. I am not an employee, but my family member is and he's recording and documenting this 1 particular dispatcher, but there could be other like minded persons doing this. Drivers work hard, long hours and family does care when those members don't make it home when expected for their scheduled days off. Company says sorry your stuck in another State but then treats as this is just normal practice in how valuable human being lives are? I hope owner wakes up and takes investigating his own company before something happens that will make him wish he did listen before all the texts, audio, documentation and records are reviewed. The next driver in a Fatal accident due to lacking sleep, the company might have a lot of explaining to do.
I 💙 Continental Express! Salt Lake City, Utah dedicated run.
Low life company from owner to dispatch to safety. Fired me due to what I believe to be my health and disability. Never had any safety issues but said that’s why I was terminated. Funny thing is other drivers had more safety issues than me with more wreaks and pushing a truck with a truck by himself. 10 years and no issues gone just to lower their insurance premiums. Do not work for them especially if you have medical problems because they don’t care.
DONT WORK HERE!! They have a system when you quit which they will force you to do they take all your money drove 7 days for $280 and I’ve been driving over 8 years told them I’ll take the truck back but they got it quick so they can charge me $700 for not bringing it back when they don’t pay you enough to pay someone or to put gas in your own vehicle to make it back home it’s a scam 💯percent to move freight payin as little as possible I had to borrow money from my son which doesn’t make sense after being in a truck all week and this is a multi million dollar business I assume that you can’t get nothing from you can literally work a fast food job and get paid more then these ppl pay they first 2 checks I assume because theyll run you away so they won’t have to pay you what you worth do yourself a favor don’t waste time like I did we only live once don’t go here
I worked there about 9 years ago had great experience when I worked with them then I left them to become an owner operator and just happened to be in Sydney and look them up while I'm getting loaded but to me there were great people I'm a great money had absolutely no problems sometimes drivers make their own problems
Great company to work! Great up to date trucks and as I stated in the past equipment is readily maintained! They go above and beyond to work with me when I need to be off or somewhere!
If I could give zero stars I would but my husband has been working with them for a month now being teams with his dad now that they are not being teams they told my husband that they pretty much don’t need him now told him he has to finish his training even when he finished they are not professional at all
On paper this company looks great….until you see your spouse leaving home at 4am and arriving back home after 9pm. I’ve never heard a company treat an employee like this one for standing up for their CDL license. I am saddened to know they don’t worry about an over hours violation or accident risk for their experienced drivers or any driver. Running a local driver 500+ miles in a day, with multiple stops, load time and delays for paperwork or traffic is called forced dispatch. And this company threatens disciplinary action, if you disobey or refuse a load, trying to protect yourself and your CDL license clean driving record. Shameful way to run a business. They are not a family oriented, employee first company, they are a money hungry corporation with lack of transportation distribution knowledge. And they simply don’t care.
Don't ever work for this place !! Stay away ! This company keeps very dollar you make when it comes time to quit , aside from being profiled for everything you do when you working for them, so i dont understand why even hire someone with Ethnicity if your gonna be constantly profiled by management because of a selected few employees , I thought I'd be working for a professional company , only to find out its like working in elementary ... and their trucks are messed up (in nicer terms), especially when they let the selected few think the company trucks are their personal property!! Smh.. such a cluster of f's in this place ...
I have never worked for this company and already have a bad experience They email me a link to apply and waste my time. According to them I don’t have enough experience, blah blah blah it is so unprofessional, expecting too much like they are so perfect
Drivers treated like slaves. Dispatch calls drivers while they are 10hours off duty at home sleep. To get them to come in sooner than fully rested. Very unsafe. Drove for them 1 month only. Biggest reason. They would not give me the promised 60 hours per week. One excuse after another .
GREAT COMPANY TO WORK FOR. YOU ARE TREATED LIKE FAMILY. LOVE THIS PLACE.
Worked for this company 1 month, and could never get ahead. Wasn't informed until orientation, that they pay you on a 2 week delay in pay. Something that needs to be told even before orientation. If I was informed of that before hire, I would have never worked for them at all. They are the second company within a year, I've worked for in my entire career that does this, and I've been in trucking now for over 30 years that does this 2 week pay delay. Going without a paycheck for 3 weeks doesn't cut it in today's economy. This information needs to be told up front before orientation, not at orientation. If I would have known this before I went to orientation, I would have NEVER considered working for this company from the start. Myself couldn't afford going to this company at all do to my financial situation. Pretty much destroyed my financial situation.
Good company so far. Trucking has its own issues but so far 6 months they have been good. Bad insurance though which is hard. Trucks are clean and nice. They maintain trucks very well in mg opinion
Pay is OK. Long hours 60+. There is no overtime it's all straight time. The majority of if not all dispatchers have no experience driving trucks, there are a couple good ones though. Typical trucking company
Best trucking company I ever worked for they know what they are doing they have the will work with you if you don’t know what your doing and they don’t bother.
Love the way they took care of there drivers, and always had a load for me, great company to work at ,make you love your job.good people.i guess the hardest part of the job is waiting on the load.and the best part is driving.
What is the best part of working at the company? Job security. Work every day never slowed down. Of course the best part is the money. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Not able to get answers when needed. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Dispatchers are GREAT to work with. Trucks used for local operations are worn out. The seats damage your back and the front end shakes and pulls hard messing with you jounts after 12 to 16 hrs a day What is a typical day like for you at the company? Busy never a dull moment locally. Over the road they will get you home for the weekend.
Great dispatchers you receive help right away pay is ok but if you're a hard worker it is there. Well maintained fleet keeps you moving. Many different accounts to pick from to accommodate your needs
What is the best part of working at the company? This company is terrible. Run, run, run, save yourself time you will never get back. They want you to use the 7/3 or 8/2 sleeper berth break so they can get more work out of you. You don't have to use their preferred break method, they can't make you do it. When you convey you will only do the 11/10 they give you the smaller runs with less miles to run earning less than 800 a week. They play too many games. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The fleet manager wants to constantly argue about loads that have been completed by other drivers, comparing them to me. Everyone circumstances vary, time, location, load readiness and traffic. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Stressful. They don't care about the drivers. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Stressful. I never wanted to answer the phone because I didn't want to hear the bull.
Great place to work. Every job has its pros and cons. No job is perfect. This job is a great fit for me. Great wage. Awesome helpful people decent equipment
What is the best part of working at the company? To say their recruiter would lie to you to get you signed up is an understatement. You'll spend lots of time making $15/hrs sitting in a loading dock for hours on end. The pay is low to start with and it never gets better. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Waiting for payday. Every 2 weeks. Being assigned a delivery time and sitting in a truck stop for hours up yo 25 hours because they caused you to miss it What is a typical day like for you at the company? Waiting to unload for hours making $15/hr
What is the best part of working at the company? They have a family working culture and the dispatch works with you What is the most stressful part about working at the company? I really didn’t have very stress working the sometimes me and my cod-driver did get along, and they put me with someone I was more comfortable with! What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Family oriented if you had a issue they would try their best to help you with it ! What is a typical day like for you at the company? I was a Otr team driver so I was out on the road most of the time
This is the best trucking company I have been with in my career. You are not treated as a number. Being a small family owned company, you get to know everyone and I have met the owner on a couple occasions in the office out of happenstance. Flexible schedules and good compensation. Best truck and equipment maintenance by far if close to a terminal. Overall very happy with Continental Express.
Great company with steady raises and consistent, reachable bonuses. Family owned and operated. They go over and above to make sure you are safe and content. They pay very well so you can take care of your family financially. They are focused on you as a person and they are driven to help you succeed. Both on the road and at home
Ok Company, some people made more money than others, depends on where the sent you. They definitely had their favorites that made more. But too much favoritism for me
Just stay away. Too much to say. Overall, everyone at the Sidney, OH has major attitude problems. They don't care about the drivers. They push and push you to get loads delivered. Only get paid 0.48 cents a mile, not worth it for how many miles I drove.
Did a local route for them for couple months, great communication, great equipment, very cool management. Paid on time flexible starting time for and again very down to earth co-workers both drivers and office staff.
More loads I've delivered are less then 300 miles have to beg bi%tch and plead to get longer loads. More weeks I've only made less the 2000 miles then over 2000 miles making it very hard to make a decent living
