They gave me a chance when no one else would, and I'm grateful for that
Cooke Trucking Company is like a big family 👨👩👧👦
Love them, dispatch is always available
Company has a real friendly atmosphere
Excellent choice for new drivers
Cooke used to be a family oriented place to work , but now you’re just another number. They have no respect for there senior drivers and if you believe the hype that they are putting out there , good luck !
Hi guys! Today one of your drivers blocked fuel pump on Pilot truck stop in Arizona in the morning and please look how he react on several people tell him that he is wrong….. He has ABSOLUTELY NO RESPECT FOR OTHER DRIVERS. In same time truck stop was completely empty and has a lot of space for parking.
Friendly company great training program for new drivers
Great place to start your OTR life.
James has the best head game in the industry. Top notch glizzy swallowing skills. Keep it going little guy.
I've been here going on 6 years all in all been a great place to work. They are friendly, great pay since recent raises flexible when you got something to be home for. Your not a number they know you by name which is what has kept me here. Really gonna hate to leave this place, lately not being able to maintain a normal schedule can't make plans never know when gonna be home.
Great company, good trainers, and decent starter pay with incentives. Longest trip has been 6 days and you get used to sleeping with the truck moving. I wrote that first paragraph when I first started and now I've been with Cooke for about a year. My opinion has only grown more positive for this company. The owner and those in the office may be jerks sometimes and they can be rude as hell but they value their employees. They've gone out of their way a few times now to see that I'm taken care of, even when it may not be in the best interest of the company. They're like family and if you're good to them, they'll be very good to you.
Great place to work enjoyed everyone in the office very nice. I left because I can't stand to be talked to like a child from a driver who think just because he been there for 7 years he have that right. But this is a good company. I would go back if I knew he wasn't there.
Randy is the mediator. James is the Abbreviator. Two great guys. I suggest this company for any new driver. Made around 33k in 7 months starting out. Thanks for opening the door for me on a local job. Felony Friendly.
Great place to work most drivers been here 6 years plus. They schedule all loads with enough space/time so it will be on time from pick up to drop off.
I worked here for several years. If you are looking for a company to get your experience, here it is. Hometime is okay. The pay is about middle of the industry. The health insurance is good. The 401k is okay. There isn't any assigned loads / runs. There are too many out of shape drivers that shouldn't even have a CDL. There isn't too much loyalty. It's their way, even if wrong or no way.

I started as a new driver fresh out of school. This company took a chance on me, and I am grateful for the opportunity. Home time was decent, though I didn’t enjoy team driving, which was the only downside. Overall, I would recommend them.
As an OTR driver with a co-driver, you’ll be part of a team running routes from the East Coast to the West Coast, averaging 1,500–3,000 miles one way, typically around 2,500 miles per trip over 4–6 days. Home time is limited to 1–2 days at most, and the pay is below average.
This is a great company for new drivers. They pay by zone instead of per mile, which sometimes results in lower pay. However, they are accommodating when it comes to taking time off. The trucks are well-maintained, and the company is small enough to avoid feeling like just a number but large enough to keep you running consistently.
What is the best part of working at the company? A friendly atmosphere and consistent trips. Dispatchers were always responsive and supportive while I was on the road.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Not receiving detention pay and enduring long wait times, sometimes several hours, at cooling facilities in California and Arizona for only one or two pallets.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It feels like a family. If it weren’t for my mother’s health complications, I would still be working there. They gave me a chance when no one else would and even provided brand-new Peterbilt trucks. It’s a great company to start with, offering guaranteed weekly pay of $1,145 or more alongside consistent runs.
What is a typical day like at the company? My day would usually start in West Memphis for my 11-hour shift. Since the trucks are governed at 70 mph, I often took my break in Oklahoma City per D.O.T. regulations before my 8-hour clock ran out. Then, I pushed onward to do my driver switch in Amarillo, TX.
This is a great company for starters. They pay by zone instead of per mile, which sometimes makes the pay less desirable. Nevertheless, they are flexible with time off requests, and the trucks are excellent. The company strikes a balance between keeping you consistently busy while making you feel valued.
I’ve been driving for Cooke Trucking for over 10 years and I love it. They treat me like family and always pay me on time. The equipment is top-notch and the dispatchers are helpful. I get plenty of miles and home time. Best company I ever worked for.
Cooke Trucking is a decent company to start your career with. They have good training and a variety of loads. The pay is not great, but it’s fair. The benefits are okay, but nothing to write home about. The management can be a pain sometimes, but they’re not too bad.
