Design Transportation first began in 1989 with one truck and driver. Nearly 30 years later, it has now risen to over 100 tractors and 250 trailers. The company’s success is largely due to loyal drivers, superior customer service, and superior fleet management. By setting up new accounts, improving efficiency, and enhancing equipment use, Design Transportation will keep trying to extend its reach.

This company driver is an unsafe and dangerous driver. On Saturday 02/24/24, in Dominion, Texas, this driver was stopped in the right lane behind another semi truck on a busy two way highway at a red light. I was also in a fully loaded hazardous semi truck & trailer traveling in the left lane at a speed of 55 mph. As I was approaching the green light, the driver in the picture jumped in front of me. If I had not jammed on brakes in time, I would have smashed into his driver side possibly causing a fatality or serious bodily injury. Nearly miss hitting him, oncoming traffic and or the stop light post. A few moments after, the driver jumped back into the right lane behind the truck he was originally behind. He then began swerving in and out of lanes almost running into other semi trucks just so he could get to a Loves Travel Center, take his break, and smoke his cancer stick. He had no remorse or took no accountability for his actions. I wouldn’t let this man drive a horse. His actions are the reason accidents happen and people are killed daily.
Driving on I40 East in TN, east of Cookeville - there are “no trucks in left lane”. Your driver spent a long up hill in the left lane going below the speed limit passing 3 trucks and holding up a line of dozens of cars…pass quickly if you have to but that was obnoxious and totally unnecessary!
Truck drivers are unsafe, they like to speed and race another trucks, 5/31/2024 driver pulling trailer # 202238 was racing over 75 mph with another trucks on I-44 EB close to Rolla Missouri and almost hit me with the trailer.
Here for orientation for truck 🚚 driver Regional position. So far so good Took a 3hr bus ride into Dallas which wasn't bad then my Uber ride was there already to pick me up. Got dropped off at hotel 🏨 which is a very nice place.. I mean very nice. Miss DeAnn is very much on her job she communicates very very well
Finally got paid from this company after year. With the help of the Texas workforce commission.
Sucks being stuck in traffic for hours because one of their drivers decided he wanted to stop in the middle of a freeway then not comply with police. Seriously what kind of people are you letting drive 80,000 pound weapons. I really hope this is a one off and not a testament to the kind of employees you hire.
Ive been with Design Trucking for the last four years and this is the best company I've ever worked for. They are family oriented and employee advocates. There employee recognition is second to none. Im always home on time and never late. They also have good incentives. Fuel bonuses and break down pay is just a few of them. Also steady loads, on average I drive 2800 to 3000 miles a week and have been the last four years. All of trucks and trailers are brand new as well.
Being a Professional Driver is hard enough. If you want to make your money, be respected, and your home time Being a priority, then look no further. Recruiting and Dispatch will work hard to make sure you and your equipment are Good. Come Design your future. Real Talk.
I have been working for design for 2 1/2 years great place to work you get the miles u need n newer trucks staff that cares about you just a great company all around to work for. call n talk to Dee Ann. She can tell you more Design Transportation
They offer a sign on bonus of $5000. They pay $500 of $5000 at the end of the following week of orientation. The person that does the orientation acts like she owns the company. The sign on bonus turns into a add $100 a week. Not much of a bonus. The trucks are so slow that it takes forever get from point a to point b. They're paying new driversmore then the drivers thats been with the company 13 plus years. Very low quality company. No perks. There are way better places to work.
Very nice people. Really nice trucks 🚚unfortunately this wasn't the company for me. Lots of live loads and unloads. Lots of waiting. Too many messages need to be sent for detention. They did offer a dedicated route. But I've decided to quit trucking.
I called and no one answered...then had a return call by a lady who just says: yes this is ***** (her name) without saying what company she was calling from or anything as if I was suppose to automatically know. I had to ask what company was she with! These people are pimping drivers paying them .49 cent per mile!! Companies are paying 60-65 on a regular! I wouldn't bring all of my years of experience to a company who isn't even paying .50 cent a mile! That is insulting. They should have new trucks because they are not paying the drivers any money!! She goes on to tell me that a driver had 3400 miles (something in that range) to make a point that you'll get miles but they should at the very low rate of 49 cent per mile! Drivers put their life on the line to be out in all the elements and sleeping on the truck in random places and taking showers in truck shops while dealing with all the other disrespect and this company wants to pay less than half a dollar per mile to the people who are the only reason they been able to be around since 1989! I feel bad for the drivers who work so hard to bring in the bare minimum! Shame on yall for allowing it and making it bad for others! It should be illegal. Ugh!
Been driving for Design Transportation close to 3 yrs now.. Honestly if I had known then what I know now. I would have started as soon as I had the required experience that they recommend. Great staff, trucks are in great shape, the maintenance on the vehicles are very maintained. The mechanics get you in and out ASAP. As for the miles absolutely no complaints at all. Even during the pandemic this company had no issue with freight. When they mention open door policy they absolutely mean it. Orientation was quick and very efficient.Last the most important thing the Home Time. Since I have been here absolutely no problem with getting home.
I’ve been working at Design for 9 years, my 10th year anniversary is coming up in February. This is by far the best company I’ve ever worked for.

I was here for over a year started off pretty decent. Then they hired a new operations manager and the miles decrease last 4-5 months I was only taking home about $700 a week. And dealing with Atlanta and Houston traffic every other day. Failed to pay me my last check sent two letters no response. So having to deal with the labor department to get my final check. No holiday pay. And they will put you on a 700 mi run for 5 days on holidays. But I'm pretty sure the office personnel are home with their families being paid. It's got the mega carrier feel now.
If you are a seasoned long-haul (O.T.R.) trucker, who is searching for a great work life balance--then I highly-recommended Design Transportation Services, Incorporated, headquartered in Dallas, Texas. The management, staff, and coworkers offer superior support and compensation. Apply today to be part of the last company you may associate yourself, until you retire.
So, I've been with Design Transportation for some time now and my experience with this company has been nothing but a wonderful experience. They treat you like family from day one. Anything you need, from home time, shop repairs, and personal mental health time off. They will help you as fast as they can. The truck we use are 2022 and newer, same with the trailers. If there was only one word I could use to describe this company...it would be home.
My name is cedrick dixon,I'm currently a driver at design, and what I like .most about the company is the consistent miles. I've been here since 2019. Like every company there's ups and downs. But overall I satisfied with driving for design and plan to continue.
Good company to work for I been with Design now for over 10 years great drivers great staff great pay and for my time here has been great..... I made the transition to Design in 2012 and this company was the perfect choice for me....you always going to have a little ups and downs with any company you work for and Design has always made me feel at home...
Been here 4 years and I’m quite impressed. Great miles great equipment. Not micro managed. I would recommend to anyone. They don’t call you about your delivery times. A three thousand mile a week is an easy task because they make sure you average that a week with the planning
I've got 8yrs of driving under my belt and this is by far the best place I've ever worked at. Me and my wife just had a newborn baby but if I ever go back on the road I will be calling them. The people are awesome and the dispatchers are awesome 😎😎😎
The company is great they don't micro manag they let you do your job and they pay is fair..i honestly just wish they had a local position otherwise I would still be there
They Are OK to work for. Good miles most of the time. Somewhat open office. Safety management is a joke never drove a trick bit sure cam drive one from her desk.
It's a smaller company so all the staff know you. It's ran like a pro-team dispite everything that can go with trucking between contracts and support staff it's a class act! They don't micro manage they simply expect you to do your job. Great place
It’s a cool laid back job. Just a lot of broker loads management is cool. Could pay a lil better trucks 2020 and up. Fridge tv and power inverter in truck
Design transportation does not care about its employees or customers. They are a very unprofessional operation. They do not understand HOS. The total lack of professionalism is disgusting.
Even though I'm not working for them when I was they have the best dispatchers and management. I always had over 2400 miles a week, they have bonuses for good inspections. There weekend team is the best not like others its always someone there, dedicated lanes drop and hook, home time, if you get a chance to work with these people, it's a place you can retire from, the best.
Have nothing negative to say about Design. Good equipment, they get you home when needed. Excellent management team, consistent freight, loads mostly go east.
Former OTR driver that worked for Design. Would still be there but went back to tankers in Houston. Equipment was great, miles and loads were great. Some broker loads but I didn't mind just need to communicate with brokers and they keep you going also. If I ever go back to OTR Van they will be my #1 choice.
Broker loads are loads other drivers and owner operators don’t want. Sometimes their difficult to get to or they are rude business owners from my experience. 80% of the time I was employed here, broker loads. They rush you across the country just for a drop and hook load. Their word is not dependable. Their driver manager is overpowering for no reason. She could be nice on the phone until she hangs up. From my own experience, these ppl are liars, gossipers, and trouble makers. Why, cause they say one thing and do another! And their own workers come back and volunteer info said behind your back. My job was already stressful, the added pressure was overwhelming. Did not make my 90days probation because the truck I was in, 200,000+ miles, had recalls. I just got out of another truck of theirs 3 weeks before because it was old. Had to walk around in the hot sun with my dog until the truck was done. That was 2 days. It was too much.
I was not taken at my word on customer service and not brought home in time for all my medical appointments at the VA. I would not work for them again unless the CEO was gone or safety director.
Great company to work for! The pay is Always correct, mechanical issues get handled, and they are in the business to make money just like the driver ...so it's a Win/Win.
relaxed work environment friendly staff always there for you care about the drivers new equipment tractors and trailers both dispatch and customer service top notch
Great company to work for people or great I would tell other drivers to come here getup at 4 am done about 130 pm my recruiter was great small company
it was good in the beginning but when they wouldn't fix the things that needed to fixed then I was starting to have my doublts about them they weren't looking out for my safety.
working for this company was fun they really looked out for there drivers and they compensated you for your worked done. Once a month we had a meeting at a local restaurant and they paid for this each month.
