My husband said that they’re using some cool software for route optimization and fleet management, which is awesome!
They have the potential to set trends rather than just follow them!
My friend works for them and he loves the job and often talks about the supportive team environment.
As a recent graduate looking to break into the logistics field, I’ve been keeping an eye on Central Trucking. They seem like a solid company to work for
I’d love to see some incentives for long-term customers like me!
The most stupid and the worst company in USA. They sallary is so low, dispatch are not availed when u call them and u wait to take a container 6 h without payment. Don't come in this stupid company
Awesome team over there!! Great used trucks for sale also!!
Excellent service. Helped me get my emissions test without delay!
Purchased a conex box from them. Purchase price and delivery fee were very reasonable. Delivered exactly when requested.
This Company has too many restrictions on their behalf! Found out that its not mandatory for them to have Cameras inside of their trucks unless they had a bad reputation in the past! Too many accidents perhaphs. Soo to me that camera facing inside of their truck is not mandatory they choose to put it on for their fun! Professional drivers if you like your privacy then this Co is not for you. I went to orientation and safety comes up with a dumb rule that if that truck goes over 73 mph they will automaticly write you up! All because of that camera monitors the speed and triggers the G sensor. No wonder they are short on drivers! Well drivers im not letting my great reputation get ruined by a inside camera that is invading my privacy! 👎
Owner operator for sister company 4GEN awesome company very organized and very fast dispatching also great equipment!
Extremely disappointed conversation with Julie about a possible safety job. She had a bad attitude and was very lazy in explaining things. I asked what the expectations and experience needed was. I told her what I had and she said “well I’m the safety manager and I don’t need anyone here to take my job”. Just a very rude let down, honestly made me feel bad about myself with how she almost talked down to me. I really respected this company until then to. I never got the chance to drive there, only because I never had to. After dealing with Julie I’m absolutely glad I never did. Just a very terrible toxic person to speak with.
I am with Hoogwegt US, a customer of Duncan and I can say they always do a fenomenal job. Kaitlynn Hemmel is a rockstar! They are always pending of when ports are open to receive cargo, and I’ve never had an issue that is not properly handled by them. Best part is the invoicing, always accurate and never additional bogus charges. Definately a good company to work with
A great family owned company! You are treated with great respect and importance from management to the driver on the road. it's not hard to see why Duncan has been in service for over 75 years!
Duncan and Son Lines is a great company to work for. The managers are very approachable and have an open-door policy like no other company I've previously worked for. When drivers call in to speak to upper management, they take the call or call the driver right back. I have seen this on several occasions. Drivers are important to Duncan and are treated with respect not as just an employee. We are on a fist name basis not a truck # or department. It's a great feeling to see and hear managers and employees talking and discussing the day to day, work, family and financial advice. You too may want to consider becoming a, like Steve our COO says, A Duncanite!
35 years in the job market and I'll have to say that Duncan is one of the best places I've ever worked. I appreciate a company where the management is approachable. They listen to their employees, and take their comments and suggestions seriously.
I recently started working at Duncan Trucking and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. The team is friendly and supportive, and the work environment is welcoming. From day one, I felt like an essential part of the team, and my contributions were recognized and appreciated. The management is attentive and open to feedback, making it easy to communicate and collaborate effectively. I appreciate the opportunities for growth. Overall, I'm grateful for the opportunity to work here!
I have worked for Duncan and Son Lines for 4 years now and I couldn't be happier. They have always been so supportive of my goals and my desire to expand my knowledge in all departments. I work with amazing people. The culture here is very much like you're working with your best friends/family. If you're looking for a career in the trucking business, Duncan and Son Lines is the place for you!
What a great Place to work and Grow. They have helped me grow professionally by providing Classes through Star 12 program, teaching me a verity of skills. The management team is supportive and with its open door policy they are easy to work with. The hours, location, and benefits work very well for my life. Is truly they best Job I have ever had.
As an employee I've been having a great time learning about the trucking business and have been enjoying the work environment very much! If you want a family oriented atmosphere, Duncan is the place for you!
Duncan is, by far, my favorite place to work. Duncan values its employees, values work/life balance and values communities. Lots of companies talk about these values, but Duncan has consistently proven that these values are deeply engrained in the culture.
Great company I just don’t like the favoritism. Other than that, best company I’ve ever worked for and I’ve never seen so much money in my life.
A great company to drive for. I highly recommend them. Running ports from Phoenix to Long Beach, CA offers excellent home time, a flexible schedule, weekends off, and competitive pay.
What is the best part of working at the company? Honestly, nothing stood out for me—I just didn’t appreciate their work ethics. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The pay wasn’t great, which led me to quit.
This is a fantastic company to work for. Management and dispatch respect drivers, equipment is newer and well-maintained, and the safety department is highly professional.
I’ve had no issues with this company. The home time, pay, and benefits are excellent! I plan to stay here for a while. Although I dislike the waiting list, it’s not a big deal since I can wait for the next load from home.
This company truly values its drivers, recognizing them as the backbone of operations. They work with you regardless of the situation. It’s a great atmosphere and my first CDL job—I can’t see myself leaving anytime soon.
There are plenty of opportunities for learning and growth, paired with excellent pay for safe production. The team surrounding drivers is very friendly and supportive.
The company provides ample opportunities for learning and growth, coupled with great pay for safe production. Drivers benefit from a welcoming and supportive team.
Duncan is a great place to work. However, the ports can be stressful. Some companies offer better pay and benefits for similar work. Their trucks are governed at 68 mph, and they operate Freightliners, Kenworths, and Internationals, with Peterbilts expected soon.
Every department has knowledgeable staff, and safety and upper management prioritize drivers’ needs. They perform well within trucking industry constraints.
I worked at Duncan for two months and wasn’t impressed. Weekend communication was lacking, which sealed the deal for me. I’m not new to trucking, but there were times I had questions and couldn’t get answers. I’m also not a yard hostler, so I’m unwilling to move six containers just to access one without extra compensation. That said, the drivers there are excellent and very helpful.
Avoid this company. They are adept at deceiving people. If you choose to work here despite this warning, I feel sorry for you. It’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for, skilled at feigning care while running an elaborate con. I typically spot scams but missed this one.
A good place to work. The company is well-versed in the LA Long Beach ports. They work with the ports and treat drivers well. A typical day involves loading in Phoenix or California, delivering to the port, and possibly picking up an outbound container for Phoenix or another destination. Most trips involve being out for one day and home the next. The ports occasionally back up, leading to long waits, but a smooth day allows in-and-out service in two hours.
Mileage pay should be higher, but overall, it’s a great place to work. My DM is excellent to work with, and there’s plenty of work available. When trucks require servicing, they ensure everything is fixed promptly, offering loaner trucks if repairs take a day or two. The hardest part of the job is being away from home and driving in CA, but Friday paychecks after a hard week make it worthwhile. Management respects and treats drivers well, making this an excellent workplace.
The owners are great people, the staff is professional, and dispatch operates smoothly. They offer good pay, benefits, home time, and time off. It’s the best company I’ve worked for—I only left to assist a friend as an owner-operator but would return immediately if given the chance.
Ports can be challenging. Some trips are effortless, while others are frustrating. Typically, live loads go to the port, and drop-and-hook loads return. After six years here, drivers can customize their truck, choosing color and options. Dave Duncan is a good owner.
This is a great company with friendly people. Working the ports can be unpredictable—sometimes it’s 30 minutes, other times six hours. If you and your family can handle the uncertainty, Duncan is a solid choice.
I worked at Duncan for two years and would still be there if I hadn’t relocated for family reasons. Although ports aren’t ideal, the company and its increasingly better benefits are fantastic. Hopefully, I’ll find a similar company in my new location.
Long hours exceed DOT limits due to port delays. Parking is scarce, and the work environment is negative, with rude drivers and port employees.
As a new employee, I quickly noticed that everyone here cares deeply about their work. Management prioritizes their employees and demonstrates genuine concern. During my first month, I attended the annual picnic and learned of upcoming events like bowling organized by the Spirit Team. Dispatch is always helpful and never makes me feel inconvenient. Drivers feel appreciated and valued here. While the company strives for perfection, they acknowledge areas for improvement and actively work toward betterment. If you seek a dynamic workplace, Duncan is for you.
Duncan and Son Line is a great place to work, and I have no complaints. Ports are hectic and should be approached with caution. Overall, the staff, dispatch, and owner are outstanding.
The company would benefit from offering more than three turns a week to allow drivers to earn bonuses. Dispatchers could be more experienced. Higher pay might reduce turnover. A better system to ensure drivers return home before 9 p.m. on most home nights would make this an excellent place to work.
