Lied to on several occasions, quit before being dispatched but put quit under dispatch when the truck was parked on their yard and we was on home time, horrible way to treat a truck driver.

Truckers are very aggressive. The staff to tell them your issue is intensely hostile. You can give them a ton of information and there is still something you are missing. VDoT needs to investigate this place. Enjoy being crazy.

A total joke! Make all kinds of promises as far as a new tractor, when you arrive, want to put you in a 2016 that was filled with the smell of smoke and used mattresses! What other lies do they have in store!

Husband and I are current team drivers. We have been with them for a year and a half. The absolute straight of our experience here has been very positive since the dispatchers have changed a few months ago. Before that, yes it was a rough time, and and the old dispatchers didn't care about getting you home, or doing his job properly. With the new office personnel, things have been much better. Like ANY company, recruiters are going to make promises that dispatch and others aren't aware of, and if you've spent ANY time in this business, you know to take what is said by recruiters with a few grains of salt. Improvements are being made to the point that we stopped shopping for another company to move to. Still needs improvements, but they seem to be happening, pretty happy with this company. Oh, and getting a NEW truck....yeah, takes a bit of time, and seems to go by seniority. We are driving a brand new Pete. Was almost a year before we got it, but in fairness, Peterbilt was behind on their builds due to some recall issues....not really Englander's fault there.

Company was like most. They did try but been driving 18tyrs and never saw so much deception. I liked the driving it was the sitting 24 to 36 hrs or watching favoritism . the dispatchers would literally lie right to your face and i don't care for that. Im not a number and i enjoy being home too.if they could be honest about stuff it would be ok but like most all they care about is filling seats moving their product and screw the driver so my advice to those thinking of going there would be dont

Had a driver cut me off twice this morning going to 29 towards their terminal. Couldn't get truck number but trailer number was 1934. Also tailgating another truck on the on ramp from 460 to 29. Reckless driver that seemed to be amused by his driving

Easy team run from VA to Arrizona/Cali and back home every week. But there is ALOT of BS to deal with. They have little care for life outside of work even if you let them know in advance then will ALWAYS use the excuse "this is trucking we can't guarantee anything" If you have anything personal to do at home during the week they will literally tell you to just take the week off like we aren't regular people with bills like everyone else and can afford to miss a paycheck. They are also all over the place they tell you one thing one day then the next day they tell you something different and act like they don't remember the first thing they told you. But on the other hand, they have nice equipment and consistent miles every week. Almost guaranteed you will bring home at least 1,200 a week. I personally have cleared over 1,600 one week so the money is there... just got to deal with some bs along the way.

Englander Transportation has new to 1yr old Pete 579s and a handful of Freightliners. Beautiful trucks with nice options. Governed at 72 mph. They are a Team company. NO single runs here! We haul dry freight from mid Southeast out west and backhaul produce. Which is their main revenue. Out and back and go home. Or stay out on the road. Your choice. Dispatch is friendly and easy to get along with. They have some really good lanes. We usually run from around Roanoke VA to AZ. Pick up a load in Yuma or Nogales and head back, drop it off and go home. 3 1/2 to 4 days on the road. In spring and summer it's out to California and back due to seasonal produce. Only complaint would be benefits could be better but the pay is good.

Work-life balance Company is a joke. Management is a joke . Recruiter is a joke Pay & benefits Pay is good but you sit so long waiting for backhaul Overall The whole company is a complete joke from the owner down to the dispatchers to the mechanics. Trucks don't get worked on as they should .They lie to you and tell you what you want to hear. Sit in California up to 48 hours waiting for a backhaul.

My husband and I are loving life with Englander. East Coast to West Coat, then back home!! Plenty of time with grandkids and I still get to enjoy my home every weekend. Dispatchers treat you like family and go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. They weren't lying when they said it is a family oriented company. The recruiters are truthful and are true to their word.

Team driving from Rustburg, VA, to Arizona, to California. We would get to CA in about 2 and a half days, but we would end up staying in CA for 1-3 days. It's a straight run out there, but the loads home are multi-stop pickups and you typically wait anywhere from 4-12 hours or more for at each stop. Sometimes you have 4 stops, so that time adds up real quick. You usually get home every week, but the day is not consistent, and you are usually expected to leave again after 36 hours. This is a small company, so you will meet the management and dispatchers face to face and they know you by name, so that is a plus. They treat drivers with respect. Pay is not the best for the job. You make about 30 cents a mile starting out, but you sit for days in CA and are not paid much for it. Detention pay kicks in only after 4 hours at each stop, and it's only about $10 an hour. If you have to spend the nigh in CA, you get $100. They promise $1000/week, but even with all the pay types mentioned, I never quite hit $1000 a week. After taxes and benefits, I saw anywhere from $600-$800 a week. Another downside is that they only have the one terminal, located in Rustburg, VA. One time my co-driver and I had to sit in CA for a week because there was an issue when we got to CA with our load. The consignee had an inventory issue and would no longer accept our load at the appointment time, but forced us to deliver it a week later. with a bigger company, they would just tell us to drop the load at another terminal or they would have us swap with another driver, but this was not an option with this company because they do not have the resources, so we had to wait with the load in CA for a week. We were provided a motel room and $100 a day for pay. Still not worth it though..
