Extra Mile International; human quality is central, we firmly believe. Successful careers and personal lives depend on it. Not merely managing the road defines a great driver. They play multiple roles—at work and at home. Positivity and support—what being a colleague and friend demand. Road-bound, disciplined, and at the wheel—reflective of your entire existence. One might think: driving and domesticity. But it's this very discipline that aids in being a decent spouse or parent. Neighbors are bettered by reflecting responsible driving habits—a strange correlation.
Consider the position of a truck driver; some see it just as employment, but other perspectives can form. It has certain responsibilities, is fairly exclusive. Extra Mile International is a company offering acceptance into such a lifestyle, one brimming with freedom, perhaps resembling a warrior's life on an endless road trip. On this team, individual contributions find value, journeying toward varied types of success, encouraged both on a professional front and another, more personal side. Commitment to embracing this way of life is thought-provokingly proposed – a road warrior's life indeed. Being part of the team at Extra Mile International could align with such an aspiration.

This is my 2nd review since the lady who calls herself "Mia" at Extramile responded with a lie to other drivers calling me a "competitor" on my The Son Pedals profile. Go read it. After 18 yrs otr this was my worst company by far. This company is not even a year old. They are Russian and started this company in August 2023 so scamming Americans is all they've learned. The office building is a literal junkyard with broken cars and wreckers everywhere plus a big Cease and Desist letter on the front door. See pics. In my month and half working here I made a total $2,800. When I quit they kept my last check. 3 of the weeks I made 0 dollars because of the poorly conditioned truck with wheel seal busted, leaking coolant, and no air condition. It was given to me like this. After meeting other drivers here who weren't getting paid either I realized the scam. Every week I had to dispute false and intentional charges on my settlement like $400 for running out of fuel. I never even run my fuel low. There is no accounting department. Mia is the accounting department. She will never answer the phone and dispatch will say they can't help. Then on Fridays the check will be 0 dollars. Just do some research first and see for yourself drivers. Look on Google maps at the location. Then look at Secretary of State website. Don't let another Russian company waste your livelihood. We work too hard for these type companies to exist. Many attorneys in Chicago have heard complaints from drivers about Mia and extramile already and Dept of Labor told me they are already on the radar. It's just a matter of time.
I want to start off by saying that I don't usually do post. I am a real person who currently works at Extra Mile for approximately 4 months now. People say a lot of negative things but I've learned in life that you can't please everyone and everything is not for everyone. I have had a lot of success with this company. Is everything perfect? No. But no company is. But this company tries very hard to set you up for success. Everyone in every department is very nice! I got a chance to speak with one of the owners before I started with the company. I appreciate his transparency about what to expect. He noted that you have to treat this like your own business. Try to avoid tolls, watch where you fuel, and just pay attention to your expenses. I love my dispatcher Ike. We stay on the same sheet of music which is a big part of my success. Truly what you put into this is what you get out. You can't live at the truck stops thinking you're going to make money. You definitely can make money with this company. I've been with other companies that was dishonest and did not look out for the drivers. That has not been my experience here. They definitely try to work through any issues. I'm doing this review to give a honest account of what to look forward to. This is the type of review I was looking for when deciding what company I wanted to work for. Good luck!
10/10 for EM! My man and I have had a long and actually pleasant road with the guys at Extra Mile. I don't know what is up with some of these bad reviews here, because being with EM for so long, being through the bad and good of this industry, I can tell you that EM is a company to stay with. We are drivers who didn't cry or give up when the times were tough; we pulled through and cooperated with everyone, and the company did the same with us... because of our diligence and DUE diligence, we have successfully PAID OFF a lease purchased truck (our cute red freightliner lol), and onto our SECOND lease purchased truck (volvo below) - my husband is a mechanic so we are getting work done, and finally back out on the road with this volvo! We look forward to finishing up truck # 2 and creating a nice big fleet family with the Extra Mile fam! Stick with the right company and they will stick with you thru thick n thin!
I was driving along side of one of your trucks and I was impressed with how good the equipment was. I loved all the lights and chrome on it. The driver was friendly and waved at me. 10 minutes later I saw this same driver at the truck stop and I loved how much energy he had driving. I shared with him my experience with driving over the road for another company and it wasn’t good. To see a OTR driver as excited as he was, it made me want to apply. Next year I will have 2 years and will be applying.
By far this has been the most professional company I’ve worked for. Have never had an issue with pay, requesting time off when I needed or getting the loads that I wanted. If you’re on the market for a new job, you should most certainly check us out. Got my brother a job here last year and he’s loving it. Top tier for sure. 👍
They don’t even deserve ONE star!! Do NOT work for this company. My son-in-law did, and had the worse time with the dispatchers, getting fuel, and now getting his pay. They jacked him around and kept him on the road making NO money. He returned the truck and quit and now cannot get the full pay he is due. Crappy way to do business, and if you have a family to support, this is NOT the job for you. DO NOT WORK FOR THESE CROOKS. They lie and have absolutely NO business employing anyone with that kind of work ethic. There are better companies out there. This company does NOT care about their drivers.
If you're looking to drive for a company who cares about their drivers look no further. I've been a part of the Extra Mile family for over 3 years and I'm so grateful I made the choice to come here n drive. The pay is great & always on time and they'll get you home when you need to be home. Office staff is great & dispatch keeps you moving. Duke & the after hours crew are amazing as well and always extremely helpful. Mia is one of the most efficient and capable fleet managers as well..she's even a driver herself. All equipment is new and well maintained by the onsite shop. If you want great pay, great home time, and to be treated with the respect you deserve then join the Extra Mile family.
I AM NOT A COMPETITOR! I tried to like this company so bad, but they’re just messed up in so many ways, it’s sad it had to come to this. First thing first, I don’t see how the trucks pass annual inspection. Which they said had just been done a week prior to me getting in the truck. The first week and a half I had engine problems. Which make me believe they are doing fraudulent annual inspections and just passing to get a driver in the truck and make them pay to get it fixed. I can go on and on but to keep a long story short, save yourself a headache, I should’ve listened to the bad reviews but didn’t because I noticed they responded to the reviews with “you’re a competitor, nice try”. So I took their word and gave them a chance . This company is just horrible. Don’t let them fool you. From the Lies, adding extra charges, and the broke down trucks.
Extra Mile is a great company to work for, they put me in a brand new western star and have had no issues with pay.. paid 80cpm for all miles and since joining I’ve been making a killing with this company. The dispatchers are fair, friendly and very professional. If you want a serious company to work with and know how to grind, Extra Mile is legit the best company hands down.
???? I'm just coming up on 4 years with a Cdl and I think I hit the jackpot with this company! Started with a zero dollar bank account, just under a year later with them put 30k down and bought my first home with these guys after paying 12k in taxes and have plenty leftover to not be house poor. If that isn't a testimony to what a great company this is I'm not sure what is. I highly recommend them not just from the great pay but how honest and easy everyone is to work with from the owners to all the dispatchers to the drivers I meet on the road to accounting to safety all in no particular order.????
As a military vet driver, I can confidently say that Extra Mile International is an exceptional trucking company that truly lives up to its name. From day one, they made me feel like part of a family, valuing my experience and skills gained during my service. Their commitment to safety and professionalism is unmatched, ensuring that all drivers, including veterans like myself, have the support and resources needed for successful journeys on the road. The management is proactive and responsive, making communication seamless, and the equipment is well-maintained, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. I appreciate their dedication to honoring veterans, as they often engage in charitable initiatives supporting military personnel and their families. It's evident that Extra Mile International values its employees and goes above and beyond to create a positive and rewarding work environment. I highly recommend this company to any fellow veteran truck driver seeking a fulfilling and supportive career in the transportation industry. They truly go the extra mile!
Don't not work here there will rob you blind. They still owe me money from last week they never paid me. They left me stranded. So I went to another company. They still owe for last week and for this week, and the next thing they resent my staments from last week and this weekend. And changed them to where they. say they don't owe me nothing.I will be filing a lawsuit. They don't like military veterans, . And yes I do have proof of everything they done. Including me sending hundreds of messages and no response if this has happened to anyone else we can start up a class action law suit. Likes came on the dash on my way back with the truck.
It’s refreshing to see a company who actively works to be the best they can be with high standards for satisfaction, safety, and reliability. They listen and care enough to make sure everyone involved is satisfied and they’re always looking for ways to improve and continue to lead the industry. I understand that no one is perfect and sometimes miscommunication or circumstances out of someone’s control can occur, but what I appreciate about Extra Mile is they are responsive and focused on win-win scenarios which is why I think they’ve been able to stand head and shoulders above their competitors to become the largest trucking company in Austin, Texas! You guys have a great attitude! Keep on keeping on! God bless!
As a trucker, I couldn't be happier with my experience with Extra Mile International....Their lease purchase program allowed me to drive a 2020 Peterbilt 579 truck, and the title was in my hand at the end of my term..I got to pay it off earlier w no bs, no balloon payments or anything.. the dispatch team was bomb, and the freight they provided was top-notch and top-paid. I appreciated the professionalism and support from the Extra Mile team, who were always available to answer my questions and provide assistance whenever I needed. Overall, my time with Extra Mile International was a great experience, and I would highly recommend them to any truck driver looking for a reliable company to work with, especially with lease-purchasing. Thanks a lot guys! You rule!
Please drivers don't waste your time with this company they will rob you first chance they get if they call you to the yard talking about they are changing fuel cards it's a lie they are going to fire you the lease program is a joke the owner act like a friend at first but he's not they are only out for themselves they double dip in the rate con as well before they send you a made up one they claim to be better then super ego but they are not they also play with the log book it's not worth wasting your time unless you like getting robbed I would steer clear and I don't care what you say when you reply Nick y'all did me wrong and I can't wait for the class action suit to start update my performance was fine y'all just double dip in the rate then offer us scraps to get by no thank you
This is a sham company. They have you manipulate logs, when I didn't agree to do that these dishonest idoits had me to turn the truck in and didn't pay me anything. What goes around comes around
Someone I know worked for this “company” and he was recently paid until this “company” took his whole paycheck down to exact penny and fired him. We believe they are in financial struggle but still is not right how they treat their employees . Then this “company” decided to respond to his post on FB where he expressed his situation in which their reply was extremely unprofessional and they knew that bc they deleted the post but not fast enough ☺️ They are also trying to interfere with him trying to find another job??!! RUN AWAY!!!!
This company is TERRIBLE with communication. Once you get here it’ll be hard to reach payroll maint and get load specifics from dispatch . The good thing about the company is every load was 1000+ miles. The bad thing is, the pay week starts Friday and ends Thursday. So the design is for the driver to only be able to get two loads in before the cut off period and they don’t make exceptions. Example: Friday load delivers Monday, Monday load delivers Wednesday, Wednesday load deliver Friday but remember Friday starts a new week. Now if u start your Friday with 1000miles then usually I would get another 1000 mile run to deliver over weekend for Monday with late appointment and then load Tuesday morning with a 13-1500 mile run to deliver Friday appointment only runs.. so each time I though I’d get a banging week something like this would happen to mess things up. They do not pay detention even if they tell you they will. I sat 8 hours after my appt and never received detention as promised .. however, sitting long periods didn’t happen often. It’s hard to get anyone on phone or to respond to text. Their weakest points are communication and that Thursday payroll cutoff b/s.. and when I told them I was quitting and asked them to route me to IL where their terminal is , not Texas, I told them several times when I’d be there and I kept my word .. but I found out that they hadn’t even paid me that day as I got close to Chicago I relalized a direct deposit didn’t hit.. nobody would know what to tell me and eventually nobody would answer the phone for quite a while but I was persistent for HOURS. Finally they paid me a very small fraction of what they owed not even half or close. Btw if u quit withought giving two week notice, they charge $2000 . I don’t recommend this place. Now I see why so many empty trucks are on their yard. Hope this helps no driver deserves to go through this
I have been a driver for 1 year now and the owners are fantastic and they truly care about their drivers to the point that you almost feel like family. The company helped me and mentored me in my career. They worked with me in my particular situation I love the fact that they hire veterans being a veteran myself they pay is great and the loads they set out aren't overly too complicated. Overall great company to work for and great pay and financial mentorship if needed.
Extra mile is a complete robbery, they constantly short you on your Miles driven. If the truck breaks down you’ll have to hassle with them for detention even though they’ll agree to pay detention. I was given a warning citation & they fined me 2k, I finally put in my two weeks notice & what do you know they short me almost 1k with my remaining checks.. worsts company ever!!!!.
It has been a blessing to have had the opportunity of employment with this company. All the dispatchers are very personable, kind, pleasant and I believe they thrive off the the success of their drivers. They do not micromanage their drivers and if you really want to run they will run you ...The owners Boris and Nick are real and I like real not fake people. Nick is an upstanding guy and understands when life gets hard. All in all I like the company and the people that work there. At the end of the day we are all people trying to make it on this marble together...Thank you ExtraMile for being a blessing in my life... Derek Hasty
I have been at Extra Mile for about 5 months now and hands down this has been my best experience in my 4 years in trucking. They truly are understanding and willing to help when things come up for drivers. I can’t tell you have good of a feeling it’s is to have a company that goes literally the extra mile lol to ensure the driver are taken care of. Now I know what my fellow truckers are wondering WHAT THE MONEY LOOKING LIKE lol trust me you are going to make bank I promise you. If you run hard you are going to be happy EVERY Friday. Another thing too how many companies you all know that when something is wrong with your check they make you wait till the following week to correct the error? Trust me you ain’t got to worry about that here the Accounting department employees are on top of everything and will go above and beyond to ensure the error is fixed ASAP most times that day so that you are happy when your pay hits. Nick, Boris , Marko, Dispatch and safety departments are great and easy to get in contact with. I’m a company driver and having a dispatcher ask me what direction I would like to head in because of weather was a blessing. I know this is a long review but it’s honestly so far been a wonderful experience and I’m looking forward to a long term business relationship because I feel like I’ve found a carrier to call home.
What an amazing group of people. So passionate about what they do. Putting them selves in the second place to make everyone else happy.
Great company to work with. Very professional, responsive, dedicated and knowledgeable staff. We got all our loads picked and delivered on time. It is simply amazing to see such dedication and service perfection from a local, family owned, company.
Inconsistent miles. The pay is good as long as you don't get pulled over. If you get a any kind of moving violation it's a 2k fine from them. Failed dot inspection is 350.00 to 500.00
Great company until they decide to go lease purchase, and basically force terminated by being forced to do LP, to stay with company Didn't appreciate that at all, and they didn't pay my last paycheck.
