They can fire you whenever they want. Thats in orientation they will tell you. You'll find out. Being honest they let me go as if it was nothing. "Not going to drag this out, we're terminating you" that's what I was told.
Truck 1053 on 2-6 i40 in the gorge in the left hand lane which is truck restricted speeding. He was bullying other cars and trucks.
Just like Frosted Flakes...They're Great!
Great place to work family atmosphere and great benefits
Absolutely rude on the phone not professional at all!.
Greg Sasser....true professional..... yeah I remember..
They don't pay enough to keep an ant fed..
Best truck company there is.
I worked there for a year. Left them for family reasons. If I ever have the chance to get back in the industry, they will be the first call. I've worked at a few companies, and this company is the best that I have worked at. Great pay. Great benefits. Great home time. Great working atmosphere. I was never without a load for longer than 30 minutes. This company will keep you rolling.
Nice place to work, 13 yrs and counting. Do your job to the best of your ability, and everything goes smoothly. Modern equipment, friendly management team, and home weekends. Pay scale is competitive !!
These folks do as they say they will do. They take care of the people who drive for them. I've only been with them a short time but my needs have always been met. From Ben, in recruiting, to Sonny in safety. Adam is a great dispatcher. My one lil gripe is they seem to like to micromanage you sometime. But other than that. First Express is way up on the scale.
Micro managing back staping less than truthful drivers are far from being treated well. There are worst company's out there. But this one is definitely not a driver friendly place..
Very professional , treat you right , young dispatchers no one to talk over you cause they have alot of experience, great pay n miles been here over 8 yrs n still going great , and newer trucks and trailer and pretty much great place to work
Nice newer equipment, pay is good. People are nice also
I’ve been here for over 11 years and I’ve had too many good experience to out way any bad one’s great pay easy time off open door what else do you expect
Terrible transportation company. They treat the drivers very bad.
Horrible place micro management, low miles . Never listen to drivers . Threatening. Verbal abuse . Would not recommend to anybody. Stay clear
Didn't return phone calls. I guess they don't need drivers.
Will was so nice. Very polite
11+ years driving for FirstExpress and still the BEST driving job and company I've been apart of over my 25+ years of driving! Excellent pay and benefits, home weekends with my family, great equipment and just a great bunch of guys in the office that treat you like a friend and not a truck number! I would recommend anyone come and just give them a try and see for yourself!
Overall I had a good experience with this company, they gave me a good opportunity to grow my skills as a professional driver with good compensation for my growth.
People don't know how to communicate and they only care about their load not the employee, it's not worth the headache. This company expect you to deliver or pick up a load on a storm
At first I didn’t think I would like working here. It seemed they were micromanaging you. But I realized that they were keeping track of the loads to better serve the customers and the drivers. Instead of waiting to unload they would have you swap with another driver to utilize all hours. Which equals more pay. Just wish I could have my dog with me. That’s my only complaint
They tell you in orientation they get customers by telling them they fire people quick and they do for no reason and the will keep you running for no money on weekends when you should be home
First Express is a good company to drive for if you like long hours. They will work with you up to a point. I did enjoy driving for them but I wanted more time at home and we could not come to a compromise.
The company wants drivers to stay on a specific route. I have missed a couple doctor's appointment because the company would get me in late. I have watched the company to lose a lot of good accounts. They keep their equipment up and check equipment weekly.
Good company but you don't get paid any layover, detention or anything else other then your pay.. You will be waiting around for you loads if let go you will have to leave the premises by 5pm not matter that you live 3 states away and they don't care how you get home.. Night dispatch is a disgrace but my dispatcher was really good most times but was always sending me to a load that had to be picked up by a certain time and when you get there they either don't have you on there schedule or you don't get loaded for 5 hours and there is no detention pay to the drivers only to the company this is a zip code to zip code company miles so you are doing a lot of miles for free but they do get you home every weekend no matter what and you usually have a full 2 days off
Did not give me enough miles. I could have ran more miles if they would have given them to me, but they would always take them away and leave me sitting to get someone else stuff.
Forced dispatch, forced routing (a lot OFF interstate), forced fuel stops, forced breaks when and where they want. Management says driving 18 wheeler on highways is no different than driving a car. Mileage pay up to 20% less than routed miles. Your last 2 weeks of pay will be at minimum wage for ON duty hours only. You will be told to pull illegal trailers. You will be told something is legal when it is not. Home every weekend like it says on trailer doors NOT promised or guaranteed. Turn over rate is high for a reason. Don't be fooled by this trucking company!
