We hustle hard but still keep it fun
This place don’t just move boxes; it moves careers, lives, and opportunities. Respect
They have the Midas touch when it comes to handling my stuff.
Flexible schedules? Check. Health benefits? Lit
They’re reliable, transparent, and always ready to help when I mess up (which happens, ’cause I’m just one person)
Due to one of their drivers nearly hitting my vehicle twice. If I hadn't moved, he would have taken out my rear end!.
All the drivers are kind and always deliver on time.
Never got a call.
Dillards warehouse
This was a great place to work, great people, awesome trucks and equipment. If not for the war, I would still be there.
Nice trucks
Easy in and out. Guard is always super nice.
It's a trucking life
Was a really great place to work. Hub Mgr took a dislike to me and ran me off but what can you do. Not one to hold a grudge. Highly recommend anyway 👌 👍. In my 25 years OTR this was probably the best job I ever had.
Loved working for this company until I really found out how it really was operated. They are based on a friendship relationship at the Fort Worth location. I was retaliated on for reporting a lead person for putting a noose on my work truck. Have proof with photos and text messages from District Manager and myself.
Great place to unload drop and hook couldn't ask for more
They have some of the most unprofessional drivers I've ever seen. If your truck is governed just a hair faster so that you are too fast to stay behind them, they absolutely will NOT back out to let you pass. They will let their truck run down the hill and do everything possible not to let you pass. They will look at everything possible in their own tractor to keep from looking at you so that you might signal them asking to let you over. And you absolutely cannot find a phone number for anyone other than recruiting to make a report. And if you do leave a voice-mail for recruiting telling them you are trying to get ahold of safety department, do NOT expect a call back. Completely unprofessional and unsafe drivers.
Apparently someone had a negative experience with them, considering there's no explanation as to why they only rated 1 star I can only assume it was just a rage review and is not valid. In my opinion, of course. I don't usually do 5 stars, (not that they're unworthy but for my opinion to reach 5 stars it would have to be something outstanding and above & beyond the standard criteria) but in this case I felt that the other review was unjust. They may have had a bad experience with a person working there and don't realize the repercussion it has on an entire company. So the reason I've given 5 here is to nullify said rage review because they're not a 1 star company in the least. Are they 5 star worthy, eh. Not really, maybe a good 3.75-4 star but that's not bad either
Very friendly staff
Thinking about career move
Awesome Place. Great People
If you manage teams, be prepared for a "good old boys" attitude in dispatching. Dispatch assignments can come as late as 3pm. Half of the dispatchers seemed new, despite having 10+ years of experience. One pay period, I netted $4600, and the next, only $760. I was told I would make around $92k a year, while my co-driver was told $98k. The company has predetermined mileage pay for pickup/drop-off locations, but it's hard to find out the details. I would work here again if the miles were more consistent. You might get a random week off, even though they already know they won't need you that week, but they make you call in and give you hope that you might work the next day.
You’ll receive your delivery assignments via text message. Grab your set and head out to make deliveries. Focus on your work and mind your own business. Management decides which drivers go out, and despite claims of no favoritism, that's not true. You might be told you'll be offered yard work, but that's not always the case. It's a good place to work if you do your job, stay out of trouble, avoid major overspending, accidents, or dropping trailers at the wrong locations. Trips can last two, three, or four days, with some weekend work, but overall, it's not the worst job. If you don’t mind seasonal work, this gig is for you. Be aware of the major favoritism, though. The equipment, trucks, trailers, and facilities are well-maintained. Good luck to anyone who applies. You've been warned.
What is the best part of working at the company? The company is a great place to work overall, and I had a wonderful experience. The only reason I left was due to injuries. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Having to wait until the afternoon to see if you’ll be dispatched that day. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The atmosphere is friendly, and coworkers are willing to help when asked. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Come in, get your route, find the trailers, and get dispatched for your day.
Management is not concerned about drivers' needs, only that freight is delivered. The company is busy for about 3-4 months a year, especially around Christmas. The rest of the year is slow, with not much freight moving. They also favor team drivers.
What is the best part of working at the company? Almost all deliveries are blind drop and hook, with no waiting for people or paperwork at either end of the trip. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Driving a set of doubles into a mall parking lot, surrounded by inattentive people. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Hook a set of doubles, go to the first store, drop and hook, go to the second store, drop and hook, and return to the distribution center.
The pay is good, but there is no set schedule, and you will drive your full 11-hour clock. The days can be long, starting as late as 3pm and working into the early morning. Money is the main reason to work here.
FWC is a great place to work! The pay is excellent, but you don't have much of a life. Drivers can become very exhausted because the schedule is unpredictable. Your start time can vary from 7pm to 1am, which is not ideal for most people.
If you can get through the long application process, this is a great place to work. The compensation is excellent, and management doesn't bother the drivers much. Work-life balance can be challenging during the busy season due to the unpredictable schedule, but it can be worth it for those willing to sacrifice. The equipment is updated first for team drivers and then for single drivers. Any issues I had were quickly addressed by the shop.
The company pays very well and offers great employee discounts. They are accommodating when you need time off.
The only good thing about this company is the pay. Forget about having a home life or time with family. Most runs start in the evening or night, and unless you communicate with dispatch, you won't know if you have a run until around 4pm. Expect a constant attitude and a non-caring, "my way or the highway" approach from management. They are friendly until you can't help them or aren't available 24/7. Pay is on time and usually accurate. It's a good starter job for someone looking to gain doubles experience.
This is the best company I’ve ever worked for. The pay and benefits are good, and it's family-oriented. I have a great manager and staff. The work environment is excellent, and they will help you in any way they can. Overall, it's a great company!
With over 50 years of driving experience and working for many carriers, I can say FWCC is one of the better-run and less stressful companies I have worked for. The job is very predictable with little waiting time or hang-ups. Management is open and has a family-run business feel. My views as a part-time driver may differ from full-time drivers, but most seem content with the company.
This is a better-than-average trucking company with great pay and an excellent insurance plan. I pay nothing for mine, and the company contributes to my deductible. The 401k match is up to 6 percent, and sick pay and vacation time are generous. You can achieve four weeks of vacation time. Management tries their best to accommodate time-off requests. I have been here for over ten years and regret not finding this company sooner. Management is human and tries their best to accommodate employees. The only drawback is that retail has peaks and valleys, so some months are slower than others. You have to save money for the slow periods. The IT department is great, and the safety training and ELDs are industry-standard. I love the people I work for and with. I hope to retire with this company! The employee discount on merchandise is also a great perk.
This job is what I am looking for right now. I am not ready to fully retire and asked to work 2-3 days per week. So far, I am very happy with what I am doing.
I like the pay and work environment, but the management is poor. The equipment is well-maintained, with mostly automatic trucks and some 10-speeds. However, managers don't manage the place very well.
I have worked for this company for several years, and it has been very good to me. It has helped me provide for my family, and there are opportunities for bonuses, which I have received several times.
