I am an owner operator and I love getting loads that get me close to this place . The loads pay good, they laod and tarp your load , plus this place actually care for the drivers , they have two showers that we can use and have vending machines and the lady in the shipping office is a sweetheart and very helpful.

Last load outta here! One too many run-ins with the trailer jockeys! They drop your trailer with a foot on each side to finish it when it’s wide open 100 feet away and not a day goes by when they’re not having a tantrum about something.

This place takes forever to load! They don't pay attention either! My trailer is a California Spread Axle. The tandems are further forward & it's easy for the trailer to be overloaded. I place 2 Red plastic load guards on the Weight Center of the trailer with a Florescent Yellow Sticky note that read, Weight Center Here. After waiting 4 1/2 hrs, my load was ready. They ignored the notes and loaded most of the weight on the rear. After I checked the scale on my trailer, it was overweight. I went inside & told them & mentioned the notes. 1 guy said he remembered seeing them, but he didn't load me. I can say the manager had them come out & move everything fw so that I wouldn't have to drop my trailer again. I explained to her about the notes & she said to keep doing it whenever I come & she would have a talk with the loaders. Between talking to them, having the load rearranged, & strapping everything down again then I had a total of 6 hrs detention!

Enter in at gate 2 or 3. Go to the office for instructions. The office is in the trailer. Bills are in little shack next to the shop. All live loads will be loaded after your trailer is dropped in drop lot.

Irresponsible, lazy, and super slow. This is another trucking company to add to the list to never to work for and deal with as little as possible. Communication is poor and you will need to watch them like a hawk because the information they give may be correct or it may not. Misinformation will be at your expense because like most trucking companies they are all talk when it come to driver care and respect. ALL TALK! Oh…but we have a driver shortage, I wonder why! Maybe because all you people that go home every night are out of touch with reality!

The pay is decent, and home time is reasonable. However, the office staff plays favorites, which affects mileage distribution. If you’re not among the preferred drivers, getting enough miles can be a struggle. This company is a solid choice for new drivers looking to gain experience.

When I first earned my CDL, Gypsum’s pay lagged behind competitors, but their new pay structure has made a big difference in retaining drivers. I’ve had no trouble getting approved time off when requested in advance. Everything I was told has been honest—rare in trucking. The company offers monthly safety and fuel bonuses, good CPM, and a New Jersey bonus for pickups and deliveries. The single dry van division avoids NYC, which is a plus. Weekends off truly means two full days off, though drivers seeking extra income can choose to start work Sunday.

The pay is above average. Military veterans receive higher pay based on their years of service. While the company is mid-sized, terminals in the Southeast are understaffed. Equipment is well-maintained, and schedules are flexible.

I completed CDL school and began working at Gypsum the following week. After orientation, I trained for six weeks with a decent instructor, though his hygiene was lacking. I pushed through and received my own truck in April, staying until December. Most weekends, I was home for over 34 hours. When leaving Sunday, I typically returned by Friday. The pay is solid for new drivers. The DM was fine, and the terminal manager was friendly but had limited power. Like most trucking companies, they’ll take advantage if given the chance—so stand your ground.

A great workplace—every terminal I visited had helpful and friendly staff. Even upper management was approachable. Pay was good, as earnings depend on how much you drive. I’d definitely recommend working here. Had it not been for family issues requiring a home-daily job, I’d still be working there.

Decent company for OTR drivers—the pay is solid. Started working days, but the pay isn’t as good unless there’s consistent work throughout the week. Waiting too long for loads can be frustrating.
