Use to be a great place to work old school and values but unfortunately it’s been handed down another generation and it’s not for the better! No respect for drivers or mechanics if your not friends or family or an owner operator they will burn you, pay is lowest around, turnover in the office positions and safety personnel is unreal, they go behind each others backs very much like high school drama, it’s sad all the good employees are looking for a way out. Plenty of other trucking jobs out there steer clear unless you like dishonesty!!!
While traveling down 127 to alabama my wife and I were passed by one of this companies drivers in truck number 16034 hauling trailer number 21800 literally less than 30 minutes ago. The driver passed us on a double yellow while speeding coming down the mountain and immediately brake checked us once he was in front of us. Now he has managed to get back behind us when the road turned to 4 lane through Pikeville and has proceeded to follow behind us with his brights on. This driver has shown not only that he has no considerstion for other drivers on the road and has no problem being an aggressive driver while behind the wheel of a 20 to 40000 pound truck and trailer
Great Company to work for. Started working with tankers late 97 and with that this companies been the best. Thank You FOR ALL YOU DO HR EWELL …
Awesome place to work. They are loaded with great people
Driving down I-75 I was almost hit by one of your trucks. This driver is a wreck waiting to happen. I hope he doesn't kill people when it happens. He's a liability and needs to find a new profession.
Haven’t done work with this company, but yesterday I see one of their driver accelerate his truck to avoid someone to pass him, almost causing the driver to hit the railing and at the same time having to break hard in front of me because he almost hit the driver in the front, this was around 10:30 am. So be very carefully when dropping bing near this companies driver they are dangerous and that specific driver shouldn’t have a license to operate those big machine, he will end up hurting someone really backs. Took a photo of the license plate. Very dangerous person driving.
One of your semi truck drivers is driving like a madman on Bermont Rd
Driving on 695 and your driver is driving like a lunatic. He’s zipping in and out of traffic cutting people off. He’s going to hurt someone. Number 369023.
I had problems with my dispatch other than that its a great company to work for.
The Ewell Family are the best people I’ve ever worked for they have the nicest equipment on the road I really love the tractor I drive very special unit consider yourself richly blessed if you get to work for this family God bless you all Matthew
This is a great company! I Can’t wait to start with them soon! Lol..let’s go Ewell!
Family company. Thoughtful and innovative. They take care of their people. They take care of their customers. They take care of their equipment. Love this company. Very proud to have the opportunity to represent them.
Well.... I went in, met with them face to face, told them about me, filled out an application on-line (twice), spoke to them on the phone 2 or 3 times, and I've never heard anything back from them in about 2 weeks. Doesn't seem like they really want to hire experienced drivers with Class A CDL T and X endorsements.
Awesome place!!
Company with low standards and has a very toxic work environment. Go through about ten employees a month.
Family-owned company with good people, and good equipment.
First Class Company. The Home Office Staff and Dispatch Team in Cocoa Beach are Great People, Do an Oustanding Job and Treat you like Family. Our Customers really appreciate the Fresh Product, Driver Proffesionalism & Clean Newer Equipment that they receive with every Delivery! Cdl Driver Employee
Family oriented. Very accommodating when you need a day off. The truck I drive is always on time with preventive maintenance and that gives my family and I peace of mind when I'm out on the road. I would recommend this company to anyone.
The company as a whole is fantastic. The people here are some of the best to work with, and they generally make me feel like part of the family. I love this place, including the management. However, the safety department can be quite frustrating.
This has been the best workplace of my 38-year career. They treat drivers with respect and maintain a professional environment. Being family-owned, it fosters a welcoming atmosphere.
The pay is what it is, but the job itself is incredibly easy. I get fantastic home time with my two-year-old, and my schedule is flexible, which I love. I can cook breakfast and lunch, do a night run, and still make it home to sleep in my own bed some days. The people here are helpful and friendly, creating a relaxed work environment. Conversations with everyone—from mechanics to supervisors—feel as casual as chatting in the yard over a beer.
This is a solid workplace. Dispatch and staff are excellent. I was always granted time off when I needed it. I was home most of the week, with only occasional overnight stays. Highly recommended.
What’s the best part of working at this company? Honestly, nothing. In the three years I worked here, there were no safety meetings or training sessions. There were no bonuses or profit-sharing—just the weekly guarantee, as long as they didn’t find a way to disqualify me from receiving it. What’s the most stressful part? The inconsistent schedule—AM deliveries one day, PM deliveries the next. What’s the work environment and culture like? Stressful. The dispatcher is incompetent and lacks dispatching knowledge. What’s a typical day like? Long. They try to get you to work as much of your 14-hour duty time as possible.
What’s the best part of working at this company? They’re flexible, reliable, and loyal to their drivers. What’s the most stressful part? The wait times between loads—just waiting and waiting. What’s the work environment and culture like? Excellent in every way.
I worked out of the Decatur terminal on a dedicated run. It was a good workplace. I was always able to take time off when needed. The terminal manager was easygoing, and dispatch was great! I’m retired now, which is the only reason I’m no longer trucking.
What’s the best part of working at this company? The work is easy, and they allow plenty of time to sleep. What’s the most stressful part? Waiting around to load or unload—I once waited two full days just to unload. What’s the work environment and culture like? It’s family-owned, but company pets get the better assignments. What’s a typical day like? Long—lots of waiting and little pay.
What’s the best part of working at this company? Uncomplicated unloading and excellent pay. What’s the most stressful part? This job isn’t stressful at all. What’s the work environment and culture like? Friendly, and there’s strong teamwork. What’s a typical day like? I get my route, offload, and head home.
The workplace has a good environment with friendly staff. I’m home several nights a week, though I wish they planned more than just the next day. They do a lot of preloading, which helps productivity.
Great people all around—from the shop to drivers to dispatch. Just do your job, and everyone stays happy. That’s all I ask.
This company has no regard for safety whatsoever! Dispatch is terrible and plays favorites. They don’t prioritize on-time deliveries and frankly don’t care. Avoid this place!
The local staff is nice and easy to work with, but upper management in East Earl makes questionable decisions, making me wonder if I should find another job. They finally raised pay to where it should have been five years ago. There’s no work-life balance—weekend work is expected. The guarantee is misleading, as they always look for ways to revoke it. Equipment is aging and needs replacement. Pay is per load.
Overall, it’s a decent workplace—one of the better options in the area. The pay is okay, and the benefits are decent and affordable. The management and dispatchers are great and work with you on any issues.
