Not much needs to be said about HARTT that their 15 years in the business doesn't already say!
Great company to work for! Consistent loads, support at every level...if you're a driver looking for work - I highly recommend them!
started working for hartt transportation in bangor maine april 1st 2017. i had thought that i had finally found the best company driver job ive ever had in the 10 whole years id been trucking. then january 1st 2018 happened. i was in a tractor trailer accident in new jersey due to no fault of my own. another tractor trailer side swiped the whole right side of my truck and ran me into the croncrete barrier. my lower spine was messed up due to the accident that kept me out of work for 3 months on workers comp. they tried to bandaid me up by sending me to their so called doctors that did nothing for me. wouldnt even wright me a decent prescription for the pain. hartt and their doctors forced me back to work unhealed and me never being in an accident such as that went back after much harrassment from them for fear of losing my job and everything id worked so hard for. i reluctantly went back trying to be the good employee and hoping the pain would eventually go away but it didnt. it continueally had gotten worse. i tried to push through the pain as long as i could until november 9th 2018 and told them i had to start going back to a doctor(my chosen doctor)this time which was my lawfull right. the pain had gotten so bad i could not sit still behind the wheel. needless to say, even with all the medical evidence showing i have ruptured discs in my lower spine they refused to help me with any doctors and have not paid me any workers comp since novemeber 9th 2018. i finally had to get a lawyer to force them to do the right thing seeing i was injured ON THE JOB. as of today ive learned from my lawyer that hartt has gotten their own lawyer trying to fight against me. here i am injured, not being able to stand more than 30 minutes to an hour without falling down due to what appears to be nerve damage imo and not even being able to do even trivial things like cleaning up, sweeping, ect without going down due to the pain and they treat me like this. i could keep going on about them regarding all the harrasing phone calls too ive recieved from them but i hope that anyone considering going to them for employment learns from my review and chooses a better company to work for because God forbid you get hurt on the job and have to go through what im still going through. UPDATE: 2/1/19 hartt is still fighting me in court. my lawyer had informed me they are stooping so low as to lieing about me and also claiming my injury is not from the accident. i have had to come out of pocket for my own medical care and have now run out of funds to get the care i need. never thought they would/could be so sorry and disgusting of a company.
Poor Safty office h.r is a joke nobody is held accountable for anything drivers are not doing there jobs dropping empty trailers like company policy says I would not recommend my worst enemy to go to work for them aka Bison USA
Interviewed with them called 5 times for status update and no one ever called back
This company is horrible! I had a 4PM delivery at Amsterdam Target one day and I did not have the right delivery # and these guys just left home at 5 without taking care of my issue. Extremely unprofessional brokers I strongly recommend no one work with these people.

Great place to work.
After my motorcycle accident last year, they continued my health coverage for an extra month, helping with medical expenses. They're good people to work for, with decent pay and benefits. When I was working, they always kept me busy.
Great pay, and management treats you like family. You decide when to leave and when to come home. Home every weekend, or daily if you choose a local route. No complaints.
What is the best part of working at the company? Not a bad company, but not exceptional either—just average. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Parking at US Foods—complaints if I deviated from the route to get a shower. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Fair to poor—once left stranded for eight hours on Memorial Day. What is a typical day like for you at the company? 14-hour shifts at night, often stretching past noon.
A fantastic workplace with great home time. A family-first company with top-tier equipment. Management is excellent, and dispatchers treat drivers fairly.
What is the best part of working at the company? Usually home by Friday morning, starting again Monday at 3 AM. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Being away from family and navigating locations not suited for big trucks. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? You're just an employee—nothing more, nothing less. What is a typical day like for you at the company? 12 to 14 hours of pickup and delivery, then repeat.
Drivers earn well, starting at 75 cpm, but unless you get a new truck, expect issues. My first truck broke down within two months, waited two days for a replacement, which broke down in under two months. I quit due to unreliable equipment. Also, they expect a two-week notice when quitting, though they don’t extend the same courtesy. Best of luck if you apply.
They accommodate your lifestyle and prioritize communication. Initially, they struggled to understand when I wanted to be home, but they improved over time. I left after being assigned to an incompetent dispatcher who didn’t listen or work with me.
Although it didn’t work out for me, HARTT is a solid company. Working in their tanker division was a great experience.
What is the best part of working at the company? Home every weekend. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Delivering loads on time. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Excellent. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Pick up a load and get it delivered.
You can earn well if you put in the effort and avoid wasting time at truck stops. Always inspect trailers when swapping, as many drivers leave repairs for others to handle.
Started strong, but after losing my dedicated account, schedules became unpredictable with frequent last-minute overnight hauls. Toward the end, the environment felt manipulative.
A typical day involves driving. What I learned: long hours. Management: mostly good. Hardest part: inconsistent start times. Best part: choosing my own routes.
If you want to be treated well, this is the place. Eight years here, and every day feels like an adventure. Full sleeper trucks with APU for comfort during long wait times at shippers and receivers. Shop is reliable, management listens to concerns. Not perfect, but worthwhile—99% no-touch freight, saving me from back pain.
A great company with promised home time. Local jobs available if you're tired of OTR. The dispatchers I worked with were respectful, attentive, and honest—rare qualities in this industry.
Excellent workplace, though the job is tough. Loads are often heavy (mostly water). First company I’ve worked for that genuinely cares about its drivers—sign-on bonuses, referral bonuses, annual draws, well-maintained equipment, awards, and more. Need time off? You’ll get it if you do your job right.
A terrible workplace—dispatchers say one thing and do another. If you break down, expect long shop delays without pay. Driver management is poor—they promise new trucks but stick you with old ones, or reassign yours if you take vacation and never return it.
