The fact that I can talk directly to them instead of going through a broker is amazing
That kind of commitment is rare these days
It’s reassuring to know I can rely on them for my shipping needs, no matter where I’m sending my goods
I felt like just another cog in the machine, this place feels like home.
I appreciate that they understand the importance of keeping my products fresh 🥦
Every company has its flaws and I’ll just leave it there. This company has been great the 6 months I’ve been here. No negative settlements, home when I want to be, and great communication between my dispatcher and I. If I need something done it is taken care of in a timely fashion. The only draw back I currently see is that the wait time to be paid for layover and detention is ridiculously long for no reason. I’m still waiting on things dating back to four months. Other than that good running lanes and customers.
You hear all this negative about this company. Yes some of it is true but 90% is false me and my wife was homeless and had nothing we was broke and starving and they took us in like family and helped us thru it and have started to get us back on our feet. They have amazing recruiters and dispatch. They so have good pay if ya willing to run
Bad company to work for if you have payments and young family at home. Good if you are single or grown family.this company will go into saying that if a driver doesn't make it, it is because they are not doing what they are supposed to, but the truth is that their dispatchers suck as well as the people around them. I was losing about a day and a half after a delivery waiting for a load, and when they gave me something, it was a short run load, but it would waste 2 days to run 500 to 600 miles and again day and a half for the next load .they will send you to pick up loads at places that will take up to 25 hours to get you loaded or, in my case, was 36 hours and the dispatchers will not tell you this in advance nor you will get and waiting time money .you will start with an ok paycheck, but as the weeks come, the more you work, the more money they will get deducted .like I say, it's good for a single or old person or someone that does not care about ever see family.
I have been running here since August 13,2023 and I am loving the work. Dispatch holds up on their end of things, shop gets things taken care of and people are awesome to cut up with and work with.
Amazing outfit to work for, everything the owner said it was as long as your willing to work!! No company is perfect, only issues I would fuss about the is the home office parking lot is a dust bowl, not on-site truck wash/ trailer washout and communication within the office.
I be been with hurricane express for bout a month. I've been driving for 18 years now and worked for a few companies they all have good and bad stuff it's all up to the driver and their preferences on how they run and what they will and will not put up with. But in my experience I like it here they are straight with us except for the communication part they could be better but with all the people coming in for orientation I can see why. But I have no complaints here and would like to further my career here and make it my forever home. Ken Manville truck 413221
Hi, I am a 4 1/2 yr Hurricane Express driver. As a driver of Hurricane Express I take pride in my experience here. To the great looking trucks, good miles “2500-3000 a week” and just as great pay, to the great staff and drivers that make up the company. I will say Hurricane is not for everyone, but should you decide to work here I am confident that you will succeed. This is truck 475121 signing off and hope to see you on the road. Have a safe one! .
So far not to bad ! Got a nice truck. Hoping for the best 1 week since orientation, they do put you up in a nice hotel for there orientation!
Hurricane is nothing but a bunch of liars to get you in there then wont pay you what is promised. I just quit there for this reason. By far the worst company i have worked for.
Got hire last August of 2022. I’m been driving for the last 29 years. So far. I’m so happy to work with hurricane express. They give you the respect as a person and driver. I take so much pride what a do. It’s a great company to work for. Always listen to you and help you out. When you need them. Get you home time. No problem at all. I enjoy working here. The owner and the stuff are friendly and good people. I recommend hurricane express team. Don’t wait call in. You don’t go to from choosing to enjoy the hurricane express.
FANTASTIC COMPANY If you are willing to work and want to make money, hurricane express is a great place to grow. I have been a truck driver for 30 years. I have been a lease operator for almost a month at Hurricane Express. They are very family oriented and treat you as such. They are more than happy to help. They listen to any concerns or complaints and quickly respond & resolve any issue you are having. Transportation to the 3-day orientation was simple. The orientation was not stressful at all. If you want miles, this is the place to be. During orientation they were very informative and helped me understand what I needed to do to be successful. Their equipment is very nice. I have had no issues. My truck came with a 35 inch smart TV,microwave, fridge and mattress. The size and storage capacity is more than enough. They have top lease/purchase Peterbuilt fleet, start in a 2018 or newer and a brand new 2021 or 2022 579 with 18 speed manual and 1850 torque X15 in your colors within 90 days or less. Absolutely no one makes it easier or more profitable to try a new job!
This is a great professional and family oriented place to work. The owner is meticulous in perfecting the truck experience as a whole. The trucks are awesome too! It’s almost like a rolling hotel room!
I’m a new driver and glad I made the leap, awesome equipment, never worry about inspections again and they pay you well when you pass a level 2. Just got my first $250. If your gonna work hard you might as well run in comfort and style👍 Chris truck 523121 …
Been with hurricane since 2022, Hurricane has done an awesome job in supporting me and my goal to own a truck and business. Very helpfull and encouraging every step of way. If looking to be in a lease purchase that actually pays on constant this is the place to be, you have to remember it's your business it's up to how hard you work to earn your pay. And business takes hard work and sacrifice, but hurricane is behind you 💯 You will not be disappointed
Great place to work. I have been here since January, enjoying my new truck and the constant loads and steady pay. It's been a pleasure so far, and I am looking forward to the future here
It works out when you know how to fuel, trip plan, and use cruise control. Like any other company, there are quirks, but effective communication resolves most problems. One can't operate like an employee and expect to reap the benefits of a boss. You have to OPERATE AS A BUSINESS OWNER!!! That means controlling your costs!!! A trucker doesn't make money sitting at home. This is a no money down and no credit check situation. That in itself is a blessing. I'm out here making money. Success requires sacrifice. Fortune favors the bold! My radio handle is Cruise Control. Ask about me!!! #Top1% #0547 #Pete567 #GrayGhost
The company keeps me moving with reliable maintenance and 24/7 dispatch support. Job security is strong, and I enjoy working here. Long-distance runs range from 1,100 to 2,500 miles cross-country with no-touch freight.
What is the best part of working at the company? The trucks are well-maintained and visually appealing. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Most of what you’re told isn’t true. Contracts contain half-truths, and messages sent to you are primarily to get you into orientation. There are numerous chargebacks for everything. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Management provides misleading information. Coworkers are friendly, and when freight is available, the paychecks are solid. "Minimum" doesn’t actually mean minimum—it's often the maximum. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Run the full clock, but you're required to stay at 64 mph despite having 70+ mph capability. Running at full throttle is penalized.
What is the best part of working at the company? The trucks are well-designed, especially the 18-speed Petes. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Communication is nonexistent! The recruiter never mentioned inward-facing cameras or lane control systems. Orientation was unhelpful, providing no contact info for breakdown support or logs. Don't even try to reach driver advocacy—it’s impossible! The "guaranteed $2,000 per week" claim is misleading. If a driver asks for an address, just give it to them! Also, stationary fifth wheels make hooking up to load locks difficult and often cause APU overheating. The company talks a good game, but execution is sloppy. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The people are friendly, but the company needs a complete overhaul to become a truly great workplace. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Drive at 65 mph, use every available minute, then sit for two days. To qualify for the guarantee, you must log at least 2,800 miles per week.
If you value your time and income, DO NOT join Hurricane Express. The company is deceptive, drowning in lawsuits, and constantly changing ownership under multiple business names to evade legal trouble. Working here will make you want to sue.
Fair pay and a decent work/life balance are nonexistent. Expect to be on the road for a month at a time with minimal home time, and office employees must fight to secure even a single day off.
What is the best part of working at the company? Honestly, nothing—except the trucks are nice to drive. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Sitting and waiting for a load after getting unloaded. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Drivers are neglected and treated like expendable employees. What is a typical day like for you at the company? After unloading in the morning, expect to sit around the rest of the day waiting for a load.
What is the best part of working at the company? The trucks are fully equipped for long-distance driving. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Expect to stay on the road for 4-6 weeks with minimal home time. High truck-related fees are deducted from your settlement, and no fuel surcharge is provided. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Communication between office staff and drivers is poor. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Busy yet frustrating due to low pay.
As fuel prices increased, produce rates dropped, which reduced my miles. If you enjoy long hours on the road, this could be a good fit. The equipment is high-quality, and it's a great option for single drivers with few financial obligations.
I recently started at Hurricane Express, and so far, everything seems good. Time will tell, as workplaces often change over time. I hope things remain positive so I can stay long-term for the sake of my family.
This is a great place for a lease-purchase operator. After selling my trucking equipment before COVID, I decided to lease-purchase here. Having completed leases elsewhere, I understood the process. Kaedon Steinert has created a winning formula for equipment and pay, backed by a skilled office team ensuring steady loads. My communication with my driver manager has been excellent, ensuring profitability and home time. When unexpected situations arise, they work hard to accommodate requests for time off. If you're committed to becoming a successful owner-operator, Hurricane Express is a solid choice.
I am a truck driver handling long-haul loads with great mileage. The owner is fantastic, and I’ve never encountered rude staff. Hurricane Express is a great company to work for.
This company prioritizes drivers' needs. They are extremely helpful and provide support for any challenges encountered on the road.
I should have joined years ago! Fantastic pay, great trucks, and reasonable dispatchers. They provide good runs across the East and West Coasts, which is why I enjoy working here.
So far, my experience has been great. There are plenty of miles and solid lease-purchase opportunities. Trucks perform well, and getting work done at the company’s yards is either free or fairly priced. Choosing between three truck models is a nice perk, as is the ability to customize your truck.
I love the equipment and appreciate good communication with dispatch and the shop. The atmosphere is positive, and as long as you’re willing to work, they provide the miles.
Hurricane Express focuses on driver improvement. I searched for a job I could love, and I finally found one. Hopefully, I’ll be here for years to come.
As a Hurricane Express driver, I’ve just started, and everything has been great so far. They honored everything my recruiter promised, and the office staff has been friendly and accommodating.
