The 2 stars Is for the dispatchers for owner Operators. Communication through the messages is probably the most ridiculous thing because you never talk to the same person. They ended up taking me off a load that wasn’t supposed to be removed because I told someone else one thing and the next person just assumed when I told them to take me off.

They knew i had an accident and only 1 accident on my record and when i applied and kept blowing up my phone rushing me to complete new videos and waste my time even with driving across town to take a drug test. all that just to pull my application because of the accident which again is the 1 and only accident i have on my record. If you have anything on your driving record then dont even bother applying here

Don't know about what kind of training you doing but there is right now a driver who tried to get into a space beside me and almost hit my new truck. Secondly you don't stick 2 trainees into a truck 3rd if there was an accident I'm afraid your insurance would not work since I don't drive repaired trucks your driver hits me I get a new truck. So you have bought your own mess your drivers messed up.

Been with JB Hunt almost 4 and a half years. Learned a lot. Got a great dispatcher.

Worked in the SE Regional division for JBI (Intermodal), transporting containers from Norfolk Southern-Marietta St., Norfolk Southern-Austell, and CSX-Fairburn yards to various distribution centers within 350 miles of Atlanta. The pay was around $60K per year. Management was reasonable, though frequent training videos were required.

As independent contractors, we signed a contract with Jordans through JB Hunt. The signing process was rushed, with little time to review details. As first-time business owners, we felt taken advantage of. Truck insurance payments were unclear, and despite following up, we weren’t billed until it was too late. We faced multiple unexplained overcharges for truck payments, which put us in financial distress. Without savings, we struggled to keep up with expenses, ultimately driving our credit and bills into the ground. When we could no longer afford to operate, they withheld our final settlement and escrow without notice, leaving two families without paychecks. Legal action wasn’t an option due to contract terms. Work-life balance was nonexistent—we canceled major events and medical appointments because there were no paid days off unless we had someone to cover for us. Our days started as early as 2 AM and ended as late as 8 PM. The job itself was great, and we maintained a 98% customer rating, but in the end, we lost more than we gained. Management was supportive initially but became indifferent once our financial struggles worsened.

Mountainaire Dress Haul offers good pay but suffers from poor leadership. The job isn’t worth the stress, and drivers rarely get time at home. Promised two days off never materialized, and there have been no raises in over two years.

The best part of the job is working with coworkers—dispatch can be helpful when they choose to be. The most stressful aspect is dealing with truck repairs and tire issues, and the pay could be better. The work environment is average, with ups and downs like any job. A typical day involves working with dispatch, though they could offer more support to drivers.

Management is solid, and the pay is decent. The job requires 60-hour workweeks, but overall, it’s fairly laid-back. No major issues since starting.

The home-daily position was convenient, but equipment maintenance was poor. Sometimes, no trucks were available, leading to unpaid wait times. Management wasn’t great, but the pay was good when actually driving.

JB Hunt is overly strict and often disorganized. They frequently disrupt established processes, making things more complicated instead of improving efficiency.

Like most trucking companies, this one has its pros and cons. The pay is $0.49 per mile, with $30 per stop and $250 standby pay. Weekly mileage averages around 2,200. Fleet managers are decent but ultimately function as dispatchers. Weekly earnings are around $1,100 before benefits and 401(k). Home time is consistent unless opting for layover loads.

The best part of the job is strong support and regular safety training, along with newer equipment. The most stressful aspect is that some tractors are still speed-limited below the posted limits. The work environment is positive, and someone is always available to answer calls. A typical day involves a 10-hour shift with different routes daily.

The job offers great hourly pay, younger management, and newer equipment. Drivers can choose their start times, and the apprenticeship program lasts 1–6 weeks. The company fosters a family-friendly environment with a relaxed culture, including appreciation events like cookouts and lunches.

A great company that prioritizes driver safety and reasonable run times. They never force drivers into unsafe situations and are understanding about home time.

The job requires learning the pay system to maximize earnings from cross-town runs, rail delays, and empty moves. If drivers don’t submit the necessary information, they won’t receive proper compensation.

In emergencies, the company doesn’t allow drivers to go home. I was forced to continue working despite experiencing mental distress due to a family death. The pay is disappointing.

A decent workplace with fair pay and good home time. However, dealing with rail operations and equipment issues becomes frustrating over time.
