Eighty percent of our fleet is made up of owner-operators and twenty percent is company drivers. If your goal is to stay a company truck driver we have drivers who have been with us for over 35 years. And if your goal is to own your own truck, we have a great owner-operator support and training program and non-predatory lease options. Home at least one weekend per month
You must be a driver at our company for at least six months with satisfactory performance. If you are brand new to trucking, we recommend waiting a full year.
The lease runs 2-3 years depending on the truck, mileage, etc.
Typical payment is $600 - $750 per week depending on mileage.
Our lease requires Physical Damage and Bobtail coverage
We set up a maintenance account at $25.00 per week for a leased truck
Operators are responsible for maintaining their tractor to meet federal DOT requirements
The company provides all trailers, no rental is charged to the operator, and all expenses are paid by the company for operation of the trailer.

There is no perfect place to work but K&J is very close! I’ve been driving for K&J for 3 years and plan on retiring here. K&J treats their drivers with respect and everyone is known by their first name. Family owned and professionally operated.
There drivers are unqualified , and incompetent . And should be properly trained on how to maintain their vehicle in there own travel lane .’! Beware of there drivers who are at fault , and don’t appreciate a helping hand . There safety department needs to step up to the plate , and resolve issues brought too their attention .

I am 5 years in with K&J Trucking and have zero complaints. Upper management, Dispatch, Safety, the shop, and support staff are all top-notch and readily available should help be needed. Come with a Class A CDL, good work ethic, common sense, and honesty and you will be successful here.

Looking for a truck shop or truck wash in the area? Come here! The best shop I’ve ever been to and the only one to take your big trucks! They have a 3 bay truck wash area. A crew of mechanics that knows their job and works to get stuff done and out of there. Mack is the shop manager, he is the go to guy. Not only are they the best, but also very friendly people. And very fair prices. Another thing that is very important is they aren’t weeks backed up like almost every other shop. Stop in, you’ll be glad you did. And you’ll never go anywhere else again if you can control it

I have been driving for K&J 7 years, and I have found them to be an outstanding place to work. They manage their business well and it shows to the drivers.
I came to K & J as part of the acquisition of Midwest and Continental. I was extremely worried after spending 21 years with MCI. They where my family. I could never have imagined leaving but it happened. From the minute I met the K & J team they made me feel at ease. They all new my name as if I had spent 21 years here . This group here has been amazing. The dispatch group keep you busy the office group take care of you. Safety Jennifer and DJ understand that They they have a completely different way of doing things and have a way of helping you see the bigger picture. They are there to keep us out of trouble. The owner Shelley there arnt any words to say about her. She is what made this whole transition easier. And the Mechanics. I don't know all there names yet but they all know who I am. Mack the shop boss keeps this whole show going. While those under him work just as hard to get the trucks in and out. Calab and Cade are the two that I know best. There just great to be around. This group of people are happy and happy people make everything roll smoothly. I've never meet a group more caring about the drivers then K&J. If your looking for a permanent place to work. Due to personal reasons I had to leave K & J Trucking. As happy as I am to be able to go home and stay to take care of things, I am just as sad to be leaving such a great company. If your looking for a “home” in trucking this is the place. Drivers are treated with the utmost respect from the owner to office personnel to the shop. I was told by everyone there when I first started that they were all there for the drivers. This was not just lip service it was indeed the way I was treated while there. K & J was by far the best Road job I ever had in my 40+ years of trucking. If you want to work somewhere where you get the respect you deserve this is the place for you. K & J Trucking is one of the best paying truck driving companies in Sioux Falls. They offer excellent benefits, lots of miles, and flexibility for days off. Great management, and top notch tractors and trailers. Would still be there had my life stayed the same.

Keep any thoughts, i.e. political, religious, or what have you, to yourself. Just do the job and keep quite. Past that, this is a very good company to work for. The pay is very fair, the benefits could stand to have a rework done, and you actually get to know your dispatchers by name and face, and vice versa.
