So I've been here for 3 1/2 weeks so far and they've just given me my truck. Mine is this pretty green one 🍀 Here's the breakdown of how this job works. They will be straight up with you on their turnover rate as soon as you call (which APPEARS to not be very good) and there is a very good reason for that. People show up for these very nice, very new Peterbilts and they leave because of all the work you gotta do with them. The yard guys are load MASTERS, the dispatch coordinates the loads in a way that will seem confusing to you but it WORKS PERFECTLY! They will put 4 to 14 different things on your stepdeck or your double drop because that is what this job is. LTL-OTR Trucking. Everyone I've ever worked with in this company so far is extremely knowledgeable in their job and everyone helps you if you have questions or need help. Hometime is fantastic. I had to take time off to go see a friend in Rhode Island because he lost a family member and they straight up paid for the plane ticket and got me over there. They truly care for your hometime here. Now heres the kicker ☝️ If you think this will be like your old company. It will not be so. This is hard work meant for people who are willing to change the way they've been working for years into a job that works better than any company out there. If you do take the leap though, and you make it? You will count yourself among the best open deck drivers in this country. Kaiser Transport is a great and tough job for great and tough drivers. And thats all it takes.

I've been pulling open deck for over 20yrs and I finally found a home at Kaiser. This is the toughest job I've had but it is also the most rewarding. Everyone in the office is there to help get the job done and they definitely value you as a driver and all the hard work you do. I've been pulling for Kaiser for over a year now and everything they've told me from the beginning is on point. We've got yards in Janesville WI and Santa Fe Springs CA. We run lower 48 and Canada. The shop is in Janesville and you get a full truck and trailer inspection everytime you come through town and the Shop personnel are definitely a pleasure to work with and get things fixed correctly and quickly with no shortcuts so that you are able to keep the wheels rolling. Dispatch works hard to get you home for your hometime no questions asked when its time to get home they get you home. The driver Krew works together in the yards to get the trailers loaded which sometimes can turn into long nights but you don't leave out until you get your rest. There is no slip seating at Kaiser. We pull step decks and double drops and you stay hooked to your trailer. I haven't had a problem with any of our customers they have all been great to work with. Kaiser definitely isn't for everyone but if you're not afraid of hard work that challenges you everyday give Recruiting a call I'm definitely glad I did.

Called them and inquired about a job after 17 years otr experience and they couldn't give me a job due to coast to coast experience. Well not every one runs from NY to CA. I've done cars, salvage, flat bed step deck ,dump trailer, roll off, and dry van. I've made turns in NYC tighter then probably half of the drivers working there, I've been out west a few times just not straight thru from the east coast but I ran the same areas. Most of these companies lie to you anyways, and the best thing you can do in all honesty is have a job that pays hourly cause your never stuck out, you're never going to run over your elds , home every night and you're hourly so if the trucks broke down guess what, your getting paid! Where as 90 % off companies don't give you break down pay. I can't really say much about them I was going to try and do the road one last time, but doesn't look like that's going to happen. Anyhow for others I wish you best of luck getting a job here. And for those current, I hope all is well and works out for you.

Top notch trucking. You can not go wrong with Kaiser. Drivers that know what they are doing, that have top notch trucks and equipment and who care about your goods. We ship machinery with them and the level of dedication is as good as it gets. Trust me when I say that I see all kind of trucking companies at our location and no one is reaching the level of dedication and quality that Kaiser offers. Keep up the great work and thank you very much for your service..

As a broker, I am impressed by capacity and yet friendlies of the dispatchers and drivers that work for Kaiser. The drivers go above and beyond - helping to load and operate forklifts when shippers need and rarely a complaint about minor changes in freight. I appreciate all the LTL work they do for me!

It’s been a number of weeks since there “professional “ driver backed up into my legally parked pickup truck. The damage was recorded on video. To this day I have to constantly call every day to get my compensation for my repairs. They advertise zero safety incidents.I have a few thousand dollars worth of damage. ! Have yet got any response as far as dollars value for my compensation.

Never in my life have i been ghosted by an employer after an interview and shadow for a position. This company clearly is unprofessional and needs to do better about being honest and up front to candidates instead of acting like they are interested in someone and then never responding. If this company reaches out to you about a position and wants to bring you in for an interview, i would not do so unless you like a month of your time wasted.

Drivers be ware Where do I start if I could give 0 stars I would. First impressions of the had supervisor the boss so you speak came off arrogant and aggressive. Made it very clear the things promised and talked about over the phone where false. Did the drivers test no issues. Off shifted once due to being a brand new truck when being used to older equipment no big deal I was told. Made me do it again did nothing wrong. Where as he bragged when he did it he grinded gears all the way down the road leaving the yard whatever. Also be prepared todo 120 plus questions including math problems and better make sure your not talking to any of the other drivers even when your done doing the tests because your being watched and he will come in and assume you haven’t done anything because he’s been watching you creepy right? Also the drivers who came in from a haul said things that threw me off like I’m getting ready to leave this company good luck haven’t been home in 6 weeks even tho he was within 30 min of home on a reset because THEY needed him to deliver. The three drivers that where with me one being a previous driver for the company who knew everyone wasn’t even hired didn’t make it through the first week as for me didn’t make it past the first day. Flew al the way from az but hey the trucks aren’t worth it drivers the turn around rate of drivers is insane they can’t keep anyone and I see why. Keep turning down the good ones and hiring ones who don’t know any better ill go back to pursuing my heavy haul career like I was doing for the last 11 years thanks for the waste of time. And don’t try to respond to this saying how sorry or give me a explanation of how I’m wrong I was there you guys are just hyped up with money to have a couple nice trucks sitting around

Hey fellow truckers, I want to give you the gist of what really goes on at Kaiser. They advertise that drivers can dispatch their own loads and make their own routes, as. Long as the customer is in constant communication with ETA and unplanned events.well that sound pretty good right, make no mistake it is a lure tactic. They will controll your every move along the way. You will not have any choices or free will. When you are at the terminal they expect you to load their trailers and tarp them down after pulling a 14 hour day. They say "it is mandatory if you want to work here".

The management is straight up abusive. They have the most hostile environment I’ve ever seen. If you even consider doing business or looking for employment with them, I strongly recommend you look elsewhere first. I know there are a lot of 1-stars everywhere but I’m not exaggerating. They are the worst company I’ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

Work harder, Not smarter. They don’t care about what’s smart or safe. It’s about revenue to the truck. Your personal life takes a backseat by far. If you want a life, they make sure you are ran in that way, which defeats the purpose of working there. It’s a mind game. You either handle the machine, and play your part, or they treat you like a piece that should be no part of it.

With the hard work comes good pay, Top of the line equipment, and they definitely will listen to your concerns. Kaiser advertises $75-95k for first-year drivers ... you will not come close unless you work 7 days a week, often "off" the clock, drive dirty, and have absolutely not a single issue with your truck. They notoriously make drivers turn off the DOT-regulated clock and continue to load trucks until 2-3 am, with the expectation that you will roll out at 6 am to drive. They expect drivers to maintain the trucks, and any issue that may arise - even due to road hazards is charged back to the driver by way of reduction in bonus. They will charge drivers for their poorly maintained equipment causing damage to their freight. Kaiser encourages drivers to customize their albeit stunning Peterbilt 389 fleet - but then charge them for any damage customizations may cause or cost them funds in resale. Essentially, you are an owner-operator ... but you don't get paid like one. The company culture likes to tout their 1% status - which actually refers to outlaw bikers and borderline criminals - at first I thought it was just a mistaken idea - but nope, they essentially want you to operate outside of safety on a regular basis. There are many positive aspects to Kaiser. Their hiring process is intense, but their turnover rate matches. They lose drivers due to what amounts to unfair practices. Drivers are lucky to make base pay each week. Bonuses are next to impossible because if you bent a mud flap and don't replace it out of pocket ... they will charge you labor costs to replace it in the shop. They are very good at home time, but even that comes at a cost. Nepotism runs rampant in the corporate office positions which is to be expected with small companies - but the lack of skills for the positions they hold is incredibly evident. Todd Kaiser is likely a good man, but the team is fading fast. Drivers are leaving left and right. Not all bad ... just not enough good to stick around
