The best that they have to offer is a traumatic and Improper training experience, low pay, and discrimination against African American Women. Forcing someone to live on a truck with another truck driver who only has 6 months of experience themselves does not a proper training experience make. Knight doesn't care about drivers or the industry, if they did they would pay more and diversify their workforce. Also once they found out that I was African American they never followed up on my application. Do not waste your time ladies. There are other options available if you do the research and stop listening to other drivers experiences at other companies.

I like driving for Knight but it’s hard to feel a part of a company that separates itself from it’s drivers in a sense. We do work for the same company as every one in this North building does correct? I haven’t even seen this building or met anyone from it. Just unsure why the corporate office is separate from it’s bread and butter. The drivers.

I work here and I love it! After retiring from the Army they hired me right away. It has been an easy transition from military to Knight because it really feels like a second family. If you like to be treated like you deserve to be treated and don't like feeling like people are trying to babysit you all the time I Highly recommend working here

Your “self driving” trucks will definitely fail and definitely cause accidents on the road. Them lawsuits will be on your way sooner or later. Good luck

By far one of the best companies I've ever worked for if you're looking for a company that's going to treat you good and a terminal where everybody look out for each other the Charlotte terminal is the place for you.

Been a good company, from a driver, to a trainer to now in the office. Like any place has it up and downs but can't complain to much.

As workplaces go, it's not unpleasant. If you work here you don't really care how many stars it gets on Google :-)

You'll find nothing but friendly faces and hard-working people here. I came here to get a job in trucking, and they have great benefits for whatever job you want to do that this place will accommodate you for. The pay is good and competitive and I couldn't recommend to more.

They try to keep you happy but at time the will send you loads that doesn't have the correct address but its mainly the loads company fault for not uploading the address. Sometimes the dms dont like us taking 34h breaks when our time and sometimes dont realize that trucker get tired at time and cant drive. But other then that they do try to make it comfortable for drivers

If you are not one of your dispatcher's favorites, get ready to receive all the trashy available loads. Good mileage and new equipment, but not family friendly. They don't care about your family nor your personal time. They are happy with you if you're living to drive.

Loads are there all day to get. But you have almost monopolized the trucking industry but have not raised the pay. That is the down fall and why drivers continue to leave. I have talked to a lot of drivers and former drivers that would come back if the pay was raised to at least the average or higher. Average pay right now is .65 cpm. Even US Express pays that much to their drivers.

They refuse to fix their trucks when you put them in the shop. They do not care about their driver's safety (letting them ride around with bad brakes) and they do not pay you properly. They SAY you make $0.49 a mile but they barely pay out half of that

Dispatch is 7am-5pm ONLY. Hope you don't need after hours support- the canned response is, "Sorry there is nothing I can do. Call your office between the hours of 7am-5pm." Safe harbor policy doesn't allow for "sitting duck" only terminals and truck stops for your breaks, but the terminals are set up like used car lots. Trucks and trailers for sale are the priority and take up most of the space at the terminal.

Still waiting for my detention pay. Not sure how they get drivers to stay with them after they do the math. They say the right things but their actions make them no different than any other big carrier company. They'll use people up as long as allowed.

-Good driver training -convenient terminals nationwide -lack of transparency with rules and bonuses -U-turn policy is overkill and no one is on the same page in the office as to when they're allowable -long wait times (sometimes up to 30-40 min) in the queue to talk to dispatch. -lots of incompetency with accounts managers -miles are paid from zip code to zip code so getting paid miles that are 10-15 miles short of actual distance is not a problem (standard for the industry). However, you might get shorted 50-70 miles or more, which is often due to miles not being reflective of the route they give you like my trainer told me they should be. Getting them to give you appropriate miles can be like pulling teeth. -dispatch will sometimes sit on their hands getting you paid for detention or layover time. -check your pay because they are known to make mistakes

Good job to work for. Good equipment, great dispatchers, well maintained trucks. If you need anything done to your truck they’ll take care of it.

I joined knight transportation last year. I didn't have any good experience. the only ONE thing they have is good CDL Training. if you are new to Trucking try to pay in privet school and get your CDL, do NOT get stuck with Knight or others. they are using new drivers for low pay.

Great place to work if you are motivated, work well independently and communicate. I felt supported by the terminal staff and appreciate the open-door policy. Nice/newer trucks and good environment. It all depends on what you put into the job. Good luck!

You do not get paid as advertised. My weekly pay and monthly bonus were not as they promised. In operations they love to say “we appreciate you “. Then they forget to submit detention pay, layover pay, PTO pay and can’t explain why you’re monthly bonus pay didn’t happen.

I only worked for Knight for a couple months. It was great working for them, but the job forced me to be away from home too much. I would work for them again if the situation was different.

I’ve been here little over 30 days and I will say that it is very hard to find your fit in this industry. I would say this is a good starter company for ones starting out and it’s really not that bad. No forced dispatch either so that is a good thing as well.I have been driving close to four years and I am one of those people who also has been finding a decent driving company that I can deal with while I continue to further my career or career choices shall I say. New trucks, automatics, I mean I can’t speak for everyone, but I actually like my dispatch manager. Everything is pretty structured here and I’m talking about the company as a whole. You can access everything from their app. They won’t force you to do anything that you are not comfortable with. I feel like all companies have advantages and disadvantages it’s just the world we live in. Of course money is ok not great, but you know you gotta run like a chicken with your head cut off for any company if you wanna make money. They have a military program and they help with twic card and endorsements so that’s a plus if that’s what you desire. Benefits are decent too. They have nice terminals and quite a bit of them also that you can park, shower and do laundry and they are all secure so you can sleep and not worry at night. I would say if you are a company driver this is one of the companies you should drive for if you are going to go that route.

The company is ok. the organization is ok, some facilities and truckers i interact with were cool people. they gave me some decent loads, but sometimes they enforced me the loads where i can barely make money. My home terminal in Atlanta is unorganized that needs improved. The laundry ( w/d) need replaced for new ones, and so the shower rods, and they need some good detailers who detail everything without the waste spots left in the truck. Overall, it's ok with three stars.
