If you have a wife or kids you want to see and make good money don’t work here! They want drivers willing to never go home and live in a truck especially if you don’t live in Minnesota. Dispatch is ok the shop is a joke you have to check to make sure they even fixed the problem. So if you hate your wife and kids or don’t have a wife and kids this company is perfect for you.
So I’m more here for future drivers. Recently I had to have emergency surgery and Long Haul went above and beyond to get my husband home to me. Then when I needed help they let him use vacation to be with me to help me. They have no idea the impact and the caring they have shown has made me a full backer for anyone that drives.
Very much enjoy working with Long Haul. Every time I book a load with Anthony I am 100% confident it's going to get done & get done right. Would recommend them to anyone.
For your consideration, LHT deserves an A for orgainized. LHT is a very nice place to work with good lanes, customers, and routes. LHT has a shop that can accomendate drivers needs until 10 or 11pm, i think! LHT has a short 5 day orientation. LHT requires 4 inspections a year to keep upto date on truck equipment as well as upto date and nice equipment in the office. Many positive vibes here not much negative, good staff. You definetly should consider your work here if you have a good driving record and have experience. Be careful though as you can be released for bad or poor performance.
My driver, I don't remember his name but he told me he was the owner of the company, was amazing! He kept me updated on his location the days leading up to and the morning of delivery. Also, the shipper gave me minimal details about what I would need to unload, but he helped me rig and unload when he definitely could have told me to figure it out on my own. He was super patient with the process, even as the cars in the street around us kept blocking our progress. 11/10, would definitely use this company again!
Highly suggest working with this company. I work with Evan Cayeaux and he does a great job communicating and his drivers are always on time. We appreciate the hard work and continued success in our relationship with Long Haul Trucking!
Great people to work with !!! Very driver friendly environment. I'm going to edit my review just a little. After 6 years of working with long haul. I can say I am making the best money I have ever made in trucking. I have nothing but respect for the office staff some of the best dispatch folks in the industry. The shop has it's issues because of short staff problems you just can't make everyone happy. Any time I have had a problem they have went above and beyond to help me even when it wasn't their problem to fix. I have access to the people that can help with any real problem not one I can fix myself. If you like not being lead around like a child this is the place to work. No I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who makes long haul a great place to work!!!!!
Great trucks and trailers it’s moving to a softener place.
Very good people to work with even if your not working for them but working with them they treat you like family. Definitely glad I bought one of there trailers to try out to see if I would like it best move I’ve ever done
Worked there for four years. Great people top to bottom except Sue the safety manager. She will will make your life hell. She trashes your DAC report. Example, I was hit in the rear by mini van on ramp. Other driver admited fault, no damage or claim filed, yet Sue put a rear collision on my DAC. My truck was hit two different times in truck stops while parked, Sue reported both on my DAC.
Was driving on I44 in Missouri near Conway Mo. the semi from this company switched lanes and pushed a mini van off the shoulder in front of us. The minivan was in the grass on the far left and the semi was in the left lane. WORST driving I’ve ever seen. Someone needs to be held accountable. 0/10
I worked for Long Haul back in 2016 (I think). They're a good company, always treated me ok. Never had an issue with anybody and the owner is always around. The equipment is top notch. The only complaint I have with it is the lane departure and front proximity warnings. My biggest complaint was the inward facing camera. I have 35+ yrs otr. If a company doesn't trust me with their equipment maybe they shouldn't have hired me. I just don't like all the electronic "babysitters". The ELD's are enough
Great place, awesome people
I do not ussualy leave 5 star reviews, but these brokers are very understanding towards carriers, and they pay fair, thank you BILL
Was in three trucks in three months and in the shop it seemed like every week. You will get called every week or two asked how you like the company if everything is ok xcetera the one thing I mentioned every time was the continues break downs . Was fired today due to performance no one spoke to me or anything was simply called in told I was terminated . When I mentioned the continues break downs they brought up my trip to CA which was 2000 miles both ways and when I told them I was running on recaps and then ran out of my 70 on the trip back it was basically dismissed .
Just filled out app, 3 stars to start off to be fair, good reviews so it could improve or tank. Hopefully they wont blow smoke up my tail pipe finding out once i get there it's a whole nother ball game..
Used to be a good company, worked here on and off 9 years. Definitely not what it used to be. Keep your options open if you’re considering LHT, bottom of the scale pay compared to Other OTR companies. Management is one sidedly against drivers. Their shop is a joke. Nothing good to say about today’s LHT. Me? I’m doing much better nowadays.
It is SO much easier to earn a living when the company you work for isn't charging their OWN drivers a percentage brokerage fee (14%-19%). Took me a couple months to figure out what was REALLY going on. Enter at your own risk!!
I work here great people the owner has a goal to remember every ones name that works there and he dose
You are a name not a number and they do not force you to do anything. They support you throughout everything and no forced dispatch. You choose your loads and where you go. If there is any issue they handle it immediately
There dispatch system is overwhelming So good and some very bad, management can be difficult to work with at times, never have a full feeling as being part of the team!
Wonderful employee owned company to work for. All conestoga fleet running the lower 48 and occasionally Canada. One of the few fleets that’ll take on pre-emissions trucks.
If you see the banner on the highway, and think you're going to make that, you are mistaken. You will blow through your clock, thinking that if you work more, you'll get paid more. You'll want to live in the midwest, that's their lane. You'll be out for over a month at times. Thinking that if you just do more, the dollars will show up. This was not my experience.
Went for the 5 day interview, passed everything,, but as I went thru the numbers and talking to drivers,, the take home money is not what advertised,, in my case I would have driven a lot more,, for less
I've been an owner operator for close to 25 years. I first talked to Long Haul at MATS last year. Everything sounded really good. After the 4 day orientation I was given a bill of around $1100 for inspecting my 2019 Peterbilt and Peoplenet install. The money sounds good until they take out the expensive insurance and fees. The dispatch is very complicated.
Poor management, maitinence none , after owner retired. The VP and operations manager took over they knew nothing about running a business. More concerned with their show trucks.
I worked for LHT both as a driver and as an office employee. My experience as a driver was GREAT. I was a company driver, but treated like an owner/operator. I was paid percentage, and could run where and when I wanted. As long as I was making money, everyone was happy. The trucks are the finest on the road, and it was ultimately my responsibility to see that it was taken care of. They had no problem paying for maintenance or repairs. They also paid for weekly truck washes at the "Streakin' Beacon". Home time was NEVER a problem. All I had to do was ask. I would tell them how long I planned to be home, and I was NEVER bothered by dispatchers. The only reason I gave up driving was to be home with my family. I took a job in the office there. What a different story that is. I lasted about a month, and I was terminated via a PHONE CALL!! Didn't even have the nerve to do it face to face. The reason was that I " wasn't performing up to expectations". Don't you usually talk to an employee about this before you do something harsh like take away their livelihood? I was given NO indication I was doing anything wrong. It was probably just politics. I would definitely recommend this place to a driver.
They will even pay to have your aluminum polished. They expect the trucks to be washed when needed. A lot of perks. Top drawer drivers lounge at terminal.
I work on % and make great money I averaged .63 per mile so far this year as a company driver , I love the dispatch they are friendly and always keep me loaded the ESOP benefits that I am making are the really good and I plan to retire here
To many snags at customers causing delays and very few weekend load opportunities. They tell you they have more freight than they can handle, but when it come to reloads they are few and far between.
The loads are great the dispatchers are awesome the safety team is there to back you up In my experience I left with what I was told good standing rehirable.i left to try to do the local job thing I reapplied and got told no . I feel there are people I management that you have to be cautious of what they say or how they say it . I did a lot of favors at the end and got a lot of lip service . For being such a great company it is disappointing for one or two folks to drop the ball
Company driver but I was treated like an owner/operator. Got to pick and chose loads. Didn't get much home time but that's because of where I lived.
