Use anyone but these guys for shipping they will bill you charges that should not have been billed. We have trucking companies pickup and dropoff here daily and twice they have billed us for residential pickup or delivery fee. Bunch of thieves

Alecia is so extremely rude. Can not give simple information about a tracking. Gave false information about the location of the item. It's ok to not know but don't make things up. Ryan ended up helping me after being hung up on and was able to track down the issue and call me back with the correct info.

Worst place to go. Nobody should use these guys they’re rude. My girlfriend had a shipment sent and they sent it through them. It’s been there for a while then they hang up on her and she is also Native American veteran, and they hang up on her because they don’t want to talk to her still trying to charge us even though the Load is not delivered Trying to hijack the load in by saying if you don’t come pick it up, then we will charge you for storage on top of it and charge mileage. We already paid once overall is the worst company that I’ve seen and have truck for a while so I was like Swift bought them out, Oh that’s right Swift did buy them out

Absolutely horrible customer service! I was transferred 3 times and was treated with absolute disrespect from all 3 representatives. They had 100% disregard for my concerns and questions and not one of the reps. were willing to do anything for me, or take any action to look into our shipment. I would never contact this company for freight and will be in touch with my cabinet supplier to relay this, as well as request that they never ship 3rd party through Midwest Motor Express ever again. If I could give a negative star rating they would receive a -5 *.

They are understaffed and customer service is nonexistent. EXPECT DELAYS. It doesn't get any worse than this in the LTL world. The most recent debacle was shipment from Defiance, OH arrived in Fargo ND in 3 1/2 days on SAIA Trucking. Very good. Shipment was then transferred to MME. in Sioux Falls. Arrived in Dickinson at 5:28 am on 3/2/2022. As of 3/3/22 it is still there. First 1142 miles in 4 days. Last 131 miles 7 days and counting. Avoid this carrier if you can.

This company held my machine in Milwaukee for 6 additional days for no reason. Everyday it was a new excuse. The weather was one of those excuses even when it was 58 degrees out no rain and sunny. I bought a cnc machine and needed it for a certain day. They advertised it as a 4-5 delivery time its been over 10 days now. I need this machine to complete a job that I bid on. They screwed me on that. Stay away from this company the absolutely suck and do not care about you.

Terrible business practices. We had a shipment delivered from a supplier who used MME. When MME delivered the package, they used a lift gate (their choice, not our request since we have a dock). Then they sent us a bill for the lift gate service. We have never been a customer of MME, we only took delivery. The lady at MME said because we signed the delivery receipt we had to pay, or they were going to take us to collections. Totally ridiculous, and a completely false statement. I called the company who shipped us the package, and they profusely apologized for MME's behavior, said this was not the first time they've had this issue, and assured me MME was way out of line. I've never been a customer of MME, and I will NEVER give them my business.

Incredibly disrespectful and rude staff. Went to ask for permission to grab some of their wood pellets and was very unwelcomely greeted by 3 very hostile female staff members. If your planning to do business at this specific location, be prepared to deal with complete and utter unprofessionals..

It is not a place to ship standard freight with. Steel plates, concrete, steel beams, rocks would be ok. If the freight is surrounded by 1/2" plate steel maybe. If they destroy something in shipping, if its used, the pay. 30 on the pound. Good thing the last person I talked too before warned me.

What is the best part of working at the company? I've been here for two years—one on the dock and one on the road. It’s a great company with fantastic people and fair pay for the industry. One of the most relaxed trucking companies out there. If you're new to trucking and looking for a good team to work with, I strongly recommend applying. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? It’s fairly easygoing as long as you show up, are willing to learn, and most importantly, work hard. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Very laid-back—one of the better trucking companies with plenty of opportunities. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Pretty smooth overall, both in trucking and warehouse work.

Probably the best trucking job in the Portland area. Though the terminal is small, with no on-site safety, maintenance personnel, or logistics planners, it’s ideal for serious drivers. This isn’t for newcomers—it’s for professionals who show up on time, inspect paperwork, ensure secure loads, and maintain proper tire pressure. A real truck driver carries essential tools, verifies addresses, double-checks provided routes, and contacts customers when necessary. If you prioritize customer service, professionalism, and diligence, this job offers steady hours with occasional flexibility to cover shifts and assist at the dock when needed.

The company is reluctant to invest in equipment—trucks, trailers, forklifts, and dock machinery are all poorly maintained. Wages are low, and management is staunchly anti-union. Expectations for delivery times are unrealistic, and the disorganized dock creates a stressful work environment. Despite being a local driver, I was frequently forced to handle linehaul runs.

This job caters to drivers who excel at bending the rules. If you follow regulations strictly, expect frequent problems. Instructions often contradict each other—one week they tell you to do something, the next week you’re reprimanded for it. DOT compliance only matters when someone gets caught.

The warehouse is cramped, requiring drivers to load their own trucks before heading out. Limited space slows down the process, forcing drivers to hunt for their items before beginning routes. A larger facility with dedicated dock workers would significantly improve efficiency.

MME is easygoing and supportive, as long as deliveries are completed. Most runs are manageable, but occasionally I wonder why we handle freight better suited for flatbeds. Completing tasks can be tough without proper equipment, such as liftgate trailers and power jacks for heavy pallets.

LTL trucking is fast-paced and high-energy. Building relationships with customers is a significant part of the job—drivers interact with 15-25 businesses daily at Midwest Motor Express. Weekend shifts are optional, overtime starts after 50 hours, and drivers are not required to work the dock.
