This vast amount of experience, along with exciting new talent, has caused Minstar to grow successfully. Our leadership believes in servant leadership. We strive to keep a small family business feeling as we build our businesses, and we foster long-term cultural stability by equipping and empowering our team members. I've heard some rumors about them being pretty strict on hours and mile, but it's a lie
Stoked to see that they've got a specialized Double Deck Trailer system - that's some cutting-edge stuff right there
I'd be happy to drive for a company like this.
Great mix of seasoned pros and new blood
Young company with the expertise of an established firm 👏
We was traveling center lane on I-75 around Bushnell Florida 72 mph and had a driver in one of these trucks ride our tailgate constantly flashing his bright lights at us. When he did go around us he laid on his horn for awhile and flipping us off the entire time. This driver was speeding and had no regard to the safety of others on the road.
I was referred to Minstar Transport by a good friend of mine that is a current driver. I have been excited from the time Tony (My recruiter) called with the great news that I was approved to come aboard as a driver. I am currently in orienation and still excited😄. Myself and the 5 Gents in my orientation class are anxious to start as well. We see this company CARES ABOUT THE DRIVERS. This is SO IMPORTANT TO ME. I have seen too many companies say they do but show different. Minster Staff from your recruiter (Tony), Safety (Kristy, Dave and Michelle) are nothing but AWESOME. Thank You Minstar Transport For Helping reassuring me that I made the right decision in partnering with u. I promise u won't regret it. Keep Doing An EXCEPTIONAL JOB!! WHOOP WHOOP!! TPayne
There is no way to contact dispatch or drivers. The driver arrived 45 minutes from destination over 30 hours ago. Minstar won't answer phone nor will driver. This is not a company you should deal with.
One of your drivers almost hit me at a round around in Dubuque, Iowa. Truck number was 53, I believe. He also got right on top of us laying on his horn. Also, he was on his phone. Very unacceptable!!
Trailer no 84057...her trailer is doglegging bad to the right in Mckinney tx at 7:15pm. She almost sideswiped someone and almost his us....
Don't know how much they pay the people to leave good reviews. I got recruite they tall me I was going to make 1400 minimum per week but they nickel and dime you so much I got less that 500 per week
Do yourself a favor and never work here I’m going on two weeks without a paycheck they don’t pay and your always gonna be struggling
I love working here so far it's a great experience and at least ic's ,OO's get a decent paycheck and no not all drivers drive like that nor super truckers.. the workers here are not down with the foolishness like that!!! Don't let one picture mess up a very good job!!!.
So far best trucking company I've been with
We think everyone there is cool and very helpful I'm every way possible and a great company to work for.
Worst company ever to work for. Todd is a real piece of work. They lie to you too.
I've been driving for 22 years and tried driving for different companies and Minstar gave me a chance and so far they have been good to me I would recommend them to anyone
Great company to work for. I left bc lease purchase didn't work out for me.
An amazing place to work for . Everyone there are great they treat u like family
The don’t deserve a star ! But I had to give at least one! Worst company ever to work for. They tell you they are all about the driver but they lie facts. You don’t make no money on or off settlement If you are reading this right now, I experience this for you, so you don’t have to your choice.
They tell you they are all about the driver but they lie. My wife tried to commit suicide and I have a 2 and 4 year old at home with her. I had to quit and get home. Not only did they take my security deposit which I was fine with because they had to come get the truck but they are now taking my final pay check as well. This company doesn't care about its drivers...
I enjoyed my initial time after leasing on. Money is good. Friendly folks in the office. They will treat you like you're important. I highly recommend them. Russell H. Ps sorry about last time.
They offer good mileage and newer trucks. To succeed, you must be willing to learn or understand how to run a business. Some drivers earn $10k a month while paying off a new truck.
My dispatcher always had loads ready as soon as I was available, and I made great money here. The staff is friendly and easygoing. The only thing I’d change is keeping the terminal open for at least half the day on Saturdays to avoid waiting until Monday for a load.
Not a bad company, but COVID-19 led to factory shutdowns, and a major breakdown put me in a tough financial spot. However, truck and equipment issues weren’t their fault—it was a reasonable lease purchase.
What’s the best part of working at the company? Nice Kenworth trucks. What’s the most stressful part? Heavy lifting and requiring the ability to crawl. What’s the work environment like? The people are respectful. What’s a typical day? It’s like being an over-the-road truck driver.
A true owner-operator position, offering good mileage and newer trucks. Success requires business knowledge or the willingness to learn. Some drivers earn $10k per month while paying off a new truck.
Lease options include newer trucks with reasonable prices and a set payoff agreement from the start. Loads are generally light and easy. Since this is an owner/lease operator company, benefits aren’t provided—you’re responsible for securing your own. Trailer quality varies, with mileage ranging from 1,500 to 4,000 miles per week.
Minstar was fair to work for. They didn’t give me trouble when I needed time off, and as long as I made on-time pickups and deliveries while avoiding tickets, they left me alone. They didn’t micromanage, which I appreciated. Due to personal issues, I received a few tickets and had a minor fender bender, which led to my termination. I didn’t like it, but I understand. Overall, I enjoyed working there and might return if given another opportunity.
If you're considering Minstar Transport, be warned—it operates like modern-day slavery. The company exploits drivers and distracts them with unnecessary divisions. Equipment prices are inflated, and no standard pricing exists. Avoid this company at all costs—you’ll regret working here.
I love the staff at Minstar Transport. They treat employees like family and consider individual circumstances. I would recommend this company to anyone who prefers being valued as a person rather than just a truck number.
The company has a promising concept but lacks real trucking knowledge. They spend more time taking advantage of drivers than making it a place worth staying. Payroll operates unpredictably, leaving employees with financial uncertainty. Taking time off can cause everything to fall apart—avoid this company at all costs.
Minstar was a difficult company for me to work for because I knew I was accepting a pay cut. I agreed to it, but I had other priorities to manage as well.
Some dispatchers are excellent, but the pay structure is problematic. The only positive aspect is the dispatch team. Avoid this company. It claims to be an owner-operator lease purchase setup, but financial inconsistencies make earnings questionable compared to what's shown on paychecks.
First and foremost, MinStar Transport is an independent contractor carrier. Even if you've never been an owner/operator in trucking or any other business, you can succeed here—but you must understand that you’re running your own trucking company. Many drivers fail and blame the carrier, but success ultimately depends on your effort. The staff supports drivers in all aspects except operating the truck itself. One phone call can provide answers, guidance, or just a moment to relieve stress. Most importantly, communication is the backbone of this company and a critical factor in earning a meaningful settlement. No company is perfect, but MinStar comes close. You will earn based on the effort you put into your business. If you only want to hold a steering wheel, be home every weekend, and contribute little effort, failure will be your own fault—not the carrier’s. If you seek quality equipment, a supportive management team, and a workplace to call home, consider reaching out to Recruiting to join the MinStar family.
